  1. Exactly, I hated the idea of introducing VAR when it was first announced.

But it genuinely winds me up when people complain about VAR when it correctly rights a wrong. The very same people will be complaining about dodgy decisions when VAR gets removed just like they were before.

Chelsea pressed really well but we barely strung 2 passes together. Possibly Luiz worst performance in a Villa shirt but most were below average. I expected a different Villa to come out in the second half but it was just more of the same

He's been rubbish for a while. I'm not surprised we won the two games he was suspended for.

He may well have been an excellent footballer but such a toxic influence.

    Disagree with this.

If the club was able to source first class seating and then decided to give it to the youth players as some sort of statement then most people would be similarly pissed.

  4. It's difficult to suggest anything that hasn't been mentioned.

But I raise your Operation Good Guys (what a show that was, I believe they might be making a comeback series) with Fun at the Funeral Parlour.

Also, of the obvious shows I'm surprised not to have seen the Royle Family or I'm Alan Partridge yet.

Sorry everyone - not as smooth as the rest of you.... the insert button doesn't like my link, and I'm clearly not getting it - is it restricted for newbies?

These designs are somewhat original, but in large part draw basis and inspiration, with some tweaks (some almost copies - so acknowledgements to you all), from many posters on here, 1957 badge, previous badges, tradition, and looking at the array of modern designs across the top leagues in europe.  I feel it has to predominantly Claret and Blue (not yellow and blue) so it works on the shirt and in media as a representation of us. Current lion is far better than the blobby lion from learner (in my opinion), but back facing left and not falling over.  Star is gone - its small time - if we hope to be in the UCL in the next season(s), take it off now! Most work well on claret or white (away kit should always be white) with maybe a font colour change on some.  Apart from one these, the AV diamond with gold lion (I think by teale's tash) would be my vote rather than the drop shadow abomination..

Glad I'm not the only who finds the process of uploading an image a bit tedious.

  6. I know it doesn't need stating but Emi is so important to us. Was it Sir Alex who said a good goalkeeper is worth ten points a season? I'd say he's probably worth more than that.

I did quickly check where we would be with ten less points but we would only drop one place XD

Chelsea played well and should've won. They will cause us problems with their off the ball movement and incisive midfield passing. However if the ball isn't falling to Palmer in the box you just never think they'll score at key moment as Jackson, Sterling and Mydryk have wasted so many presentable scoring chances this season.

Lol you've jinxed it now. Mydryk hat trick incoming

I use a chest strap with a watch, both Garmin. A watch is ok but sometimes it just goes wrong and gives HR that is clearly wrong. If you use the watch in combination with your percieved effort then it's good tool as they track everything for you and you know when the HR is wrong. If you want an accurate HR then get a chest strap (they are comfortable).

The key thing to remember is you should be doing 90% of all your exercise at an easy effort. Easy means you can speak a sentence or two and hold a conversation if required but people would know you're exercising. The more you can build up to doing weekly at Easy pace the better. I think jog walk jog walk is the way to start and record how long you have done and look to increase the amount every week.

I'm going to say it again. EASY, if you are reaching an effort where you are struggling then you are going too fast. It's all about effort levels, as you get fitter you will just be moving faster for the same effort. The key is walking / jogging / running the effort nothing else.

    Thank you for the advice!

The speed a person runs or jogs at is irrelevant. What is relevant is the heart rate being raised by the increased exertion. Everything flows from that. So never worry about it.

Just keep the motivation to keep doing it.

Speaking of which, are those heart rate watches any good for this?

No I haven't. Will have a look at that today thank you.

Quick update. I downloaded the C25K app and went out to give it a go before work.

I don't have any earphones to listen along though so thought I would pop into Sainsbury's to pick some up but Argos doesn't open until 9 (What's that about?) so I just used the timer on my phone and found it quite enjoyable. Amittedly I'm not sure what I was doing could be considered running rather than jogging but will definitely be doing this more and hopefully the migraines stay away.

Back in the 1980s, my wife's office was evacuated when a mysterious parcel arrived from Ireland, exhibiting greasy patches and a slight smell of almonds (both apparently signs of certain plastic explosives). The bomb squad were called, and a controlled explosion carried out in the car park.

    Turkish delight everywhere.

The best thing you can do to Turkish Delight is blow it to smithereens

Have you tried the couch to 5k program? Its an NHS plan and it is brilliant. I've been doing it with my wife on and off, we've gone from just being able to walk swiftly to jogging 25mins continuously. It has a free to use app and everything

No I haven't. Will have a look at that today thank you.

  13. I've wanted to improve my fitness for some time now but I always get exercise induced migraines with anything physically strenuous, it really puts me off.

I also get that really sharp pain when breathing in during cardiovascular exercise which I've read is caused by cold air restricting the airways as we start to breathe through our mouths rather than our noses. I usually end up gasping for air after five minutes lol.

Has anyone experience these things as well?

Saying we’re not ready for the champions league so it’s not a bad thing if we don’t qualify is a bit like me deciding that, actually I shouldn’t go on a date with Jennifer Lawrence this weekend because I haven’t quite toned up enough yet, can we make it a couple of months from now, Jen?

I had friends say the same thing when we were in the championship, we'd have been there for years.
