I actually thought John Egan was the best defender at Brentford, surprised there was no bid for him.

Dean got sold because his contract was running down, they actually had him on the bench for a few games this season because of that.

Dean rejected two contract offers. He was voted their fans player of the year last season.

Ha Sterling playing badly? What a surprise, horrific player, just saw the line up and Jake Livermore is starting, LOL

Southgate seems to have a thing for Livermore. I hate seeing him in the team what a boring mediocre player. Why is it England can never have a manager who attacks. It's been this boring shit since 2002(ish)

So I'm biased because you don't agree with me? And only one of us is claiming a player who has moved to the noses is better than 3 who have spent McGrath-knows how many years playing top flight football. It is not bias just because you don't share someone's opinion.

Yeah you are biased because he signed for blues. Guaranteed if he signed for us you wouldn't be saying Wheelen is better than him  :crylaugh:

I meant 3 or 4 in this window.  Never mind the squad.  Whelan, Terry & Elmohamady are all long proven in the Premier League.  They are better players than Jota right now.  Snodgrass is arguable but I'd put him above him right now too.

Come on man that's just bias. So you are actually saying there's even more than 4 players in our squad better than Jota? lol

Wheelan better than Jota I can't even take seriously. Terry was no doubt far superior but looks a shadow of the player he was. Snodgrass doesn't have nowhere near the technical ability Jota has. Elmo is close but Jota has far class about him also more end product with goals & assists.

People may not like what I'm saying but it's at least honest no bias.

At the moment no, but we know what they're capable of.  I do think we have a tendency as fans to look at greener grass elsewhere in terms of transfers and while it can be true (Wolves), in this case we've bought proven Premier League quality whereas the noses have bought a quality Championship player (we've a few of those too).

Basically I think we've bought 3 or 4 better players than their best.  But yes he is good too undoubtedly.

3 or 4 better players than Jota

id say Kodjia is better ... who else?

Can't say I've seen much but Brentford have been a very average defensive record  team

iwould people rather have hourihane fir 1.5m or jota for 6m. I know which I would

I agree Brentford's defensive record isn't great but having seen them play many times Colin & Dean are decent players they are certainly the best two out of their back 4. Hourihane is a top player that I rate but being totally honest Jota is the better player, having said that 1.5m is a lot cheaper so yes more value for money.

Central midfield options still look a bit weak to me. Gardner, Walsh, Ndoye, Gleeson and David Davis.

Pretty much what they had last season bar Ndoye who's been awful so far and a kid.

Rest of side looks decent but I'd still be surprised if they finish top 6.

Yes I agree they look average in CM. Davis can be decent on his day but Gardner looks finished. They do look a lot stronger in attack with Jota, Gallagher, Boga also Che Adams and Vassell to come back which adds a lot of pace. Bit tighter in defence I'd think with Colin & Dean. I think they will still miss out on play offs though as they have had a poor start and have a very tough September & players will need to gel.

Might actually start winning a game or two now then. What's 'arry's excuse going to be if they continue with 1 win in 5, dodgy hip, dogs opening bank accounts again....

He'll say they ain't good enough and buy another 11 players in Jan lol even though I think they've bought well Arry is always full of excuses when he loses, if he don't get top 6 with the squad they have now that's poor imo.

BIG WAGES for Gallagher is apparently £18k/wk.

I imagine most of our squad is on more than that.

Exactly it's not big at all. Even if blues do finish mid-table they won't be in trouble at all. I don't like blues but I can't see where people are getting the idea they will be in meltdown when Arry leaves after this season, they haven't signed any 80k a week players or signed 15-20m players. Think it's more people going on arrys rep which is reckless no doubt but I don't think blues owners letting him spend reckless. They've bought shrewd like it or not. I wouldn't of minded us signing Jota 6m is a bargain for the amount of goals & assists he provides.

They are paying Gallagher big wages and from what I can see have spent over 10m on transfer fees. That's a lot at this level for a club that averages what less that 20k fans?

10m is not a lot of money. Even though I hate blues I'm always honest with my opinions on players, signings etc of other teams. Their chairman has backed Arry but not stupidly, they have actually done very good business if you are honest, their biggest spend is 6m on Jota & imo that's peanuts when you consider he's talent, absolute bargain don't know why no other clubs didn't get in their. Imo he's one of the best attacking players in the league.

  11. Everyone saying blues will be in trouble if they don't go up? Half of their signings are on loan? 2m signings like Dean, Roberts,Vassell Free signings like N'Doye, Stockdale, only real 'big' signing will be Jota for 6m which is still relatively low, tbh I'm surprised nobody else has went in for him he's a quality player & 6m is cheap. I have to be honest I think they will be around top 6 now.

Lets hope it goes spectacularly wrong. He has been moaning about the players not being good enough so now he has no excuses. If they lose their next few games i think he will be gone

I think he'll walk if they are near the bottom by Christmas. He won't walk after next two games, Norwich & Leeds away will be tough anyways but he wouldn't quit then although I do think the fans will start getting on his back.
