  1. no 'official' approach which means we probably made an 'unofficial' one
  2. This is happening and as soon as we realise it and stop believeing the likes of Ian Robo the better. It's the **** end if we appoint that clearing in the woods -what the **** is going on
  3. twitter needs to be napalmed - source of conjecture and complete and utter bollocks This has been a horrendous day and i fear will be a horrendous week
  4. Guys calm down i just tweeped Phil Neville he laugh his head off because one hour ago he had spoken to moyes so its liar about him. Phil Neville isn't even on twitter. yes he is
  5. I aint looking forward to it......not one bit
  6. I had a big wedge at 12/1 and jumped in again at 6/1 after the Martinez snub. I'm off the Vegas if we appoint Moyes.. I'll come with you son as i've got 100 at 11/1......not sure my wife will be too happy though
  7. If we appointed him that would be it for me under this regime - i absolutely love the villa - fan for 30 years been to over 500 games - but i would be veremently against this - i couldnt bring myself to go and would lose a lot of respect for the board
  8. Will someone PLEASE re-assure me that we aren't going to appoint that retard
  9. Their pedigree is finishing mid-table, is that what we want? Bollocks is it...... Martin Jol was a bout of food poisoning away from the champs league with Spurs and finished 5th with Hamburg and 2nd with Ajax Mark Hughes had limited resources at both Blackburn (where i believe he had a top 7 finish) and Fulham (who incidently finished 8th last year). He didnt really get a fair crack of the whip at city did he Their pedigree certainly isnt mid table With Spurs and lots of money spent he finished 5th. With the biggest team in Holland he finished 2nd. Hughes has never finished outside mid-table - and was not winning enough games with city after sunking over £150m on lescott, santa cruz etc. Their pedigree certainly is mid-table. Oh come one - you have to spend money to get to top 6 - look what we spent under MON Biggest team in Holland?? Who cares ?? You are saying his pedigree is mid table and i'm teling you thats Horseshit when you look at his record Hughes finished 7th with Blackburn and Fulham with little funds. So your statement 'Hughes has never finished outside midtable' is bollocks i'm afraid
  10. Their pedigree is finishing mid-table, is that what we want? Bollocks is it...... 11. Look, it's just my opinion. I dont want my club managed by someobody with absolutely no pedigree whatsoever. Especially when Hughes is available and we could have got Martin Jol.
  12. Why does it have to be in the last 5 years? The way modern football is, no one employs people from lower leagues any more. All recent managers employed by clubs have been managers with either prem experience or abroad. It's a huge risk taking a punt on a young up and coming manager because relegation can be absolutely disasterous - even Martinez had experience of two relegation battles and came through them. Having a punt on Grayson would be an unmitigated disaster IMO
  13. Koeman didnt have an interview. Interviewees were Curbishley, Eriksson and Houllier
  14. Oh, there's that phrase again. It's got nothing to do with "sinking low". The media are just throwing names around because they know as much as we do (nothing) and people are discussing that on here since there's nothing else to discuss given that we don't know anything. I meant talking on here fella There is no way we should even be discussing these names
  15. Aside from Wigan, Name 1 premier league club (aside from the ones just promoted) that has recruited a championship manager with no previous premier experience in the past 5 years.
  16. have we sunk this low that we are talking about championship managers
  17. I honestly never thought i'd see the day were the two favourites for the Aston Villa job were two managers operating in a lower league......
  18. Grayson backed into 9/4 - all this is seriously doing my head in
  19. Whoever thinks Bruce and Mctwat wouuld ever get a sniff of managing our football club needs their head read. I might become and independent bookie as this market seems to be a piece of piss to make money on.
  20. Rijkaard, Ranieri, Klinnsmann, Hughes - all have pedigree - all have won something in the game as player or manager or both. Martinez has done nothing in his career, absolutely nothing. He just smiles a lot and says the right things - if he had took wigan down (which has nearly happened twice) would Randy be even considering this??
  21. I'm going to bed....i'm sick of this shit.........see you all tomorrow for constant refreshing, checking news now, updating twitter etc etc etc
  22. we have to go for hughes - its an absolute **** no brainer of epic proportions
  23. Gary Mc beat Arsenal and Liverpool.... Whats your point? That he must have something about him... I posted it right there :? Gary Mc beat Arsenal with a team including Darrent Bent, Ashley Young & Stewart Downing. Gary Mc beat Liverpool on the last day of the season, when most teams have nothing to play for, again, with Bent, Young, Downing and the rest of our 'Top 6 side'. Martinez beat them with a team who's aim was to avoid relegation :? Phil Brown beat Arsenal. Small Heath beat Arsenal Leyton Orient drew with Arsenal
  24. If it's not Martinez i'll be £200 down and in hot water with my wife.....this will probably involve several nights on the settee, no sex for a while, and the odd grunt from her if i engage in conversation as she makes known her sheer displeasure. However....all this will pale into insignificance as i'd quite happily put up with all of that to have my club run by someone who, granted has a nice smile and wears some fine suits, but has done absolutely feck all in his career (player and manager)
  25. Can you confirm whether our ambitions have changed as we seem to (if you believe the media, and well trusted local jounalists) that we appear to be on the berge of appointing a manager that has finished 16th 2 seasons running, has won precisely nothing in his career (as a player and a manager) and oversaw some of the heaviest defeats in his present clubs entire history. I will back him to the hilt if he were to come, but I just want to know what part of Robeto Martinez' CV is attracting the board to be on the verge of offering him the managers role at my football club?
