  1. Bringing in Pulis would have me questioning whether I want to continue putting myself through this week in week out far more than sticking with Lambert would and believe me, Every Monday I tell myself no more but something keeps dragging me back.

Pulis would definitely push me closer to the edge.

Well don't let the door smack you where the good Lord cracked you?

  2. Spurs could not cope with our quick passing and tempo, we made them look average. Bring on West Ham!

    Wrong!!

Spurs could not cope with Benteke's strength and movement and he is missing for the next 3 games 2 of which are against the form sides of the league.

  3. I think it will be Tony Pullis, at this moment in time I would take that all day long. What he did with Stoke and Palace cannot be ignored. In the short to mid term I'd be happy with him.

Im really bothered about the brand of football at the moment, I'd be perfectly happy with some points on the board a few home wins and a team that was organised and actually looked like they had a game plan

Extra like this post for being sensible.

What we need first and foremost is organisation and playing to our strengths.

Last year Crystal Palace under Pulis were not at all like Stoke under Pulis. The main thing was though he took the side that he inherited and got them playing together as a team and it was that dull and boring either.

There's no point thinking over years because if Lerner wants to sell then things will change but if we can do that from a stable basis all the better and that's what Pulis will give you!

  4. Implying Moyes is just waiting to come here.

Well apparently he was looking at a job in Spain, Him and Mel up for the job?

Why are we worrying about replacements when there are 2 very good PL managers just waiting to come in, one being the current PL Manager of the Season and the other being one of the longest serving and probably most consistant manager outside the top 4?

Exactly the reason I'm surprised people are turning their noses up at these two in the other thread (although I wouldn't be too confident that they're dying to come here. It's the point about their abilities I'm "liking")

I know someone mentioned Klopp on here earlier? Have you seen where Dortmund are in the BL?

Pulis would be my favorite as he was happy to go into Palace last season and get them out of the mire without spending money but just by playing the players he has in a system that suits them. Moyes is more a long term man which may put him off us but on the flip side he needs somewhere to rebuild hs reputation?

And we are worrying about sacking a man who has acheived nothing but negative records whilst a quarter of his way through his third season in charge?

the problem is I have very little faith that Lerner will see what needs doing, man up, and actually sack the manager? Let's hope Mr Fox will be nagging Lerner to get it sorted!

  6. I'm gonna give a positive...he looked close to 100% and it made a difference, I do feel if he stays fit we will be ok.

Shame about the next three games just as he looked to have got his fitness and confidence up?

It never ceases to amaze me as to how low the bar is set in regards to what constitutes a good performance where Westwood is concerned.

If it's Cleverley setting the bar then are you that surprised?

We have 2 centre mids and neither of the can pass straight! Shockingly bad!

I don't know what games you watch.

I don't mind people criticising Westwood or Cleverley. But their passing surely isn't the thing to be picking.

Cleverley had a 97% pass success rate yesterday. I'm not saying that proves he played well, because it doesn't. But surely saying he can't pass straight is a bit rich?

97% blimey I cannot remember one of those?

How many 'key passes' did he or Westy make?

Pulis' football at Palace was much better than Lambert's has been for the last two/three years.

Lambert has it perfectly set for him to be fair. Even if he does get sacked, which he won't, but say he walks when we lose nine in a row and Burnley turn us over... He'll STILL be exempt of blame for some people.

Obviously he won't get another Premier League job for a long long time because other fans and clubs can see how bad we are but our own fans still can't. Good for him.

Absolute garbage; I really hate posts like this.

I'd like you to find one fan anywhere who has said "Lambert is exempt of blame".  It's just absolute **** nonsense.

There are people who like taking that turd and rolling it in glitter but at the end of the day it still smells like a turd!

Mmmm and I seem to remember one poster the other day who wrote a very long post on how we should all blame Lerner and not Lambert???

Couldn't possibly say who it was though as my memory isn't so good now?

  10. Without doubt the best of the midfield three yesterday.

    Not for me!

Sanchez the best by a country mile as he was the only midfielder not to hide away and he could pass to a claret & blue shirt more than 10 yards from him!

Westwood showed some effort but it was wasted by his poor passing.

  11. Easily our best midfielder yesterday and his range of passing is generally better than I expected but he is still settling in and will make mistakes. Especially as he is having to be both the defensive and creative midfielder because Cleverley is chickening out and hiding in games and Westy couldn't pass wind at the moment without shitting his pants.

He needs time and better quality around him. Westy needs ungrading Cleverley needs to be sent back to Manure!

  12. Tried very hard yesterday and wasn't MIA or AWOL in the first half like Cleverley was but to be a PL midfielder he must really learn to pass a ball more than 3 yards in any direction.

    Yesterday Effort &/10. Appliacation 3/10.

We are really missing any quality from AW and TC!

  13. Played well yesterday and just edged out Sanchez as my MOTM. Players of Zogs ilk are rarely consistant and if he was he would be playing for Bayern, Real or Barca not us. He show a lot of passion and was constantly shouting at others to get into position.

  14.

Yes he gave 'ONeil' the run of the club who financially killed us off. Now we are still in recovery.

That would have been true if the austerity measures were started after MON left, however, the biggest problem is the outrageous spending continued for 2 more years after MON had gone. This is reflected in the accounts as well. Only after Lambert was hired most of the bad spending was done with, so I'd put the blame on the spending 90% on Lerner and only 10% on managers who buy 20+ mil players that cannot be given away for free now.

    A very good point.

Maybe we were unlucky with houllier getting ill or maybe he wasn't the right appointment. But we've spent a decent amount until Lambert arrived. We should have been in a stronger position but because of the decisions made by the owner we aren't.

As I have said before we employed managers without thinking about playing styles and philosopies. Lerner and Faulkner stupidily thought that going from MON to Houliier to McLeish to Lambert was not as disjointed a recruitment policy. This is where money got wasted and we ended up with players the next manager didn't want? Then there was Ireland who was signed with no manager in place because Lerner was so desparate to get his mitts on the Milner money!

  15. We forget that Benteke is only 23 years old and has only one top flight season under his belt? He's still learning and this will hopefully be a learning excersie for him as he doesn't want to get the reputation for being easily wound up?

  16. I'd love to have Lerner as my boss, just knowing you can be so awful and still be untouchable would be brilliant.

must be like working for a local authority?

I want Lambert out now but he is not to blame for Benteke's red card and his presser comments were fair.

I blame him for us sitting back and letting Spuds attack though!

  17. IMO has looked poor against both QPR and Spuds. Westwood and Weimann have both showed a lot more passion recently!

Senderos has been a better player this season and argubly Baker too?

He seems to have his head elsewhere?

  18. There is no defence for Benteke whatsoever.

Had a Spurs player pushed a Villa player in the same way, we would have been baying for him to be sent off.

    True!

In reallity the only way Tekkers could deal with this situation would be to (and I hate to say it) drop to the ground when Mason pushed his head into his face, like he had been shot by a sniper out of the Trinity? These days in the PL and world football the only winners are the cheats!

It's horrible to say but these days you have to be clever!
