I've been telling people since last summer that he would go this summer on a Bosman.

You also said the Lambert signing a new contract would encourage the likes of Delph and Vlaar to sign? That went well?

he said encourage, that doesnt guarantee anything

Well it seems to have made up their minds to jump ship! Putting an idiot in charge for another 4 years!

The definition of insanity: Keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

This has been posted a few times on here in the last couple of weeks and it really makes no sense at all.

While it may have some validity in a scientific experiment, where every little detail is carefully controlled, it is ridiculous to use it as an argument in a sporting context where there are a multitude of variables in every game.

It's not even as if we play with the same players every week. We haven't been able to field the same team for two games running since the third game of the season.

The insanity bit is people stating 'give Lambert a couple more games' or 'let's see where we are at Christmas'. That's insanity thinking Lambert will suddenly become an even average football manager if he get's more games? We could give him until the end of time and he will still be a League 1 level manager. It's like me telling my self every morning that tomorrow I will wake up as George Clooney's better looking twin? No matter how many times I say it it will never happen just like Lambert will always be shite!

    No, it isn't.

I've told you before I am not interested! I am not homophobic but you really need to get over me! There are so many lovely ladies in this world that I am busy for the rest of my life!

And Lambert will always be a crap manager somethings just can never be changed!

  3. Ive got this info from a foreign website so I wont even quote it, but did you know that the most bought/sold player on FIFA ever is Christian Benteke?

And sometimes there are things that you should just keep to yourself?

Your posts get worse. You continue to talk to people like they can't match your understanding of the game. And your dismissal of things in your defence of the manager increases by the game.

Sorry if I'm coming across as someone with more understanding of the game than anyone else, I have an average understanding of the game, like you and probably at least 95% of people posting on here. But at least I understand that we've tried a succession of managers and finally landed one with a spectacular track record. The only thing we haven't really tried is sticking with one, and I would like to do so for once and see where it goes for longer than ten seconds.

Of his management career he has a win ratio of 39%. I would hardly call that spectacular.

The only spectacular thing about Lambert is how bad he is at management!

  7. Wants team to keep the ball.

Complains about team keeping the ball.

    VillaTalk

Well we haven't kept the ball enough times this season so he's not really able to complain about that is he?

  8.

Well it must put the club in a bad light whatever happened. When Lerner sells up and joins his Jewish version of the WI then I doubt there will be a problem letting the cat out the bag then?

I don't see too much that's left to know about it. It was constructive dismissal, which is why they settled at the tribunal, the club paid him off and bought his silence because this stuff going to the press would be detrimental to Aston Villa and/or Lerner.

Well because at the moment MON is the bad guy in all of this because of the PR machine at VP. Lerner hates been seen in a bad light and I think MON is not the baddie he has been portraied as and Lerner paid him off to prevent the truth coming out!

Usual storm in a teacup stuff and easy story for press to make Keane look like he's living up to his thug image!!

  9. There absolutely no point putting Bent into a team which creates very little chances and that's where we are. Bent is only effective when the other 10 players are trying to set up him with scoring opportunties. That was fine when we played with wingers and had a midfield that didn't only pass sideways or backwards it worked well.

  10.

So would O’Neill ever write an autobiography? “Why not? Everybody else seems to do one,” he said. And would his be the whole truth and nothing but the truth? “I think that if you’re writing an autobiography and you want to make it worthwhile, you should follow your heart on that one.”

    I look forward to this

John robertson said in his book that he couldn't discuss their leaving of villa due to a clause in their payoff and I doubt mon would be able to say much on the matter either sadly.

  11.

I think Bannan and Herd might do a better job than Westwood and Cleverley at the moment.

At least Bannan tried to be creative, Westwood and TC just want to pass it sideways max 5yards all the time.

This is the least correct post made on VT this week.

    Congrats

    ;)

And i tried so hard!!

Then someone comes along and snatches victory from my grasp without even trying! AAHHH Schucks!! :suspect:

  12. Vlaar has been a very decent player for us and for the fee and wages has been good value. However why when we handed out new contracts to Westwood and Lowton we didn't do the same for Vlaar is beyond me? This is Faulkners and Lerners mess!

  13.

I'm sorry, but about the only player we'd make a profit on would be Benteke, and that would be cancelled out by the losses on everybody else.

    Vlaar, Benteke, Lowton, Westwood, Bacuna...

That wasn't the only point of my post though.

Vlaar will leave for free - zero profit

Benteke will make large profit easily!

Lowton, we paid £2-3m for him- no way he's worth £1m to £1.5m max.

Westwood, again we paid £2m - £3m, maybe we'd break even.

Bacuna cost just under £1m - he's worth £500k in todays market?

I really don't know who you think is going to pay £millions for average footballers like Lowton, Westwood and Bacuna?

  14.

If Dembele is an upgrade on Delph,  why do Spurs want Delph?

they like to buy the flavour of the month.

Dembele makes Darren Bent look like a hard worker!

They want Delph because he is an all action midfielder and if you put him in  a team with better players he will improve massively.

Spurs have too many midfielders and each manager has his favorites that's why Capoue, Bentaleb, Chadli, the little cheating headbutter have all had chances. I think Sigurdson wanted out hence he got sold.

  15. Adebayor is a grade A nobhead so I would put zero value to whatever shite comes out of his mouth.

Problem I have with this 'the fans are partly to blame argument' is booing/not turning up behaviours you mentioned were first bought about due to the continually shite football, so it's hard to argue the fan's should shoulder some of the blame when it was happening anyway.

To put it simply as the players need to give the fans something the cheer or get behind them? As fans we tend to react to the goings on on the pitch? If the players were seen to be having a real go then from my experience the crowd tends to rise to that. If they look disinterested, don't chase lost causes or are sloppy in their play then the crowd will get on the players backs.

    It's a two way thing.

And Adebayor has also been very quick to back track on what 'he really meant' by his comments in todays news? Surprise, surprise!

  16. I'll reply to the polite requests above asking for clarification on my post a bit later when I have time, but just to answer Crackpot's post above:

I think Lambert's major fault is playing under O'Neill and seeing his way of managing work. Letting simplicity rule and letting the players express themselves in their own way, rather than overcomplicating things, worked wonders when he had top players at Celtic, players who could drag a game out on their own (Ashley Young, John Carew on their day), or having absolutely no pressure or expectation on them (Leicester, newly promoted Norwich).

In our position we have pressure on the players playing for a club which is always being told it's below par for its heritage, and they're not world beaters. So no matter how many times Lambert can reassure himself that he's only doing the same stuff that O'Neill and Hitzfeld did, and that eventually it'll come good, he has to hand hold the players a bit more.

I should have known it was all MON's fault???

    FFS!!

  17. Mark spot on again but our main problem is we have an owner who takes very little interest in the club and is not exactly known for being descive when it comes to making the difficult calls.

You're right Lambert seems unable to get a reaction from the team and looks totally lost on the sidelines watching the same old mistakes being made time and time again. Southampton, Burnley, Palace, the Boggies and Leicester will all think they can pick up points against us and I doubt any of them will be seeing us as anything other than a push over if they get amongst us.

We desparately need a change of mindset in the club to just keep saying 'we go again' is not working as a mantra!

Apart from a Man Utd game thrown in, our next games are Southampton, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Leicester, Baggies, Swansea, Sunderland, Crystal Palace & Leicester. If we were ever going to get a new manager in, now would be the ideal point of the season! (not that I think we will).

I would say now is the ideal time to stick with Lambert, some ideal games to get points on the board and make people realise their hysterics were really not necessary.

If wanting Lambert out now is hysterics what was it when we wanted McLeish gone?

If watching 2.5 years of dire unimaginative football hasn't tested peoples patience and is deemed hystrical then our reaction to McLeish mustseem like us acting like Bonnie Langford from Just William skreeching 'I' scream and scream until I'm sick' everytime she wanted her own way? (under 40's may have to google that one).

starts tomorrow vs Iceland with  Januzaj and Hazard either side of him

Saw him on SSN with the Belguim squad looking really relaxed laughing and joking with Fellani.

Hope he finds his scoring boots with them and is raring to come back after the ban!

Same. Usually the international break makes me nervous, but will be good for him to have a game or two to help keep him up to speed having only just come back.

And as they are playing Iceland and Wales it's as close to damn it a couple of Premier League style games. He looked back to full strength verus Spurs which makes the ban doubly sickening! Just needs to find his shooting boots and there will be no stopping him!
