Going by what Romano said it seems it's matter of when he leaves not if, not only have we been in contact with Chelsea every day and they with Duran and his people working on a deal, but also there are other clubs involved who want him should Chelsea not happen.
Also I don't think we're going to get a big fee, sounds like it's going to be another deal similar to the Luiz deal, I imagine they will give us around £20m and a player or two to take the value of the transfer for us closer to £40m or whatever it is we want for him
Apparently we're doing player swaps because it will help with the next set of accounts with regard to PSR rules
With PSR in mind these kind of swap deals plus cash will become more common in my opinion.

Really getting bored of this one now to be honest. A great prospect, but if Duran doesn’t want to be here and is so desperate to go to Chelsea, then let’s get as much as we can from them for him and move on.
I’d hope we’d be smart enough to insist on some sort of add ons.

Chelsea might freeze him out if he doesnt leave so might lose a year of his career
Nah, he’ll sign another deal. They will protect their asset.

Chelsea asking for £30m for broja and £50m for Gallagher
He's got to be worth north of £40m
Madness that Chelsea are also up against PSR and yet still have £100m to spend on teenagers
This. Just feels like it’s not a level playing field.

40m? I like the kid and think he'll be a star, but just like with Carney you have to bite their arm off for that. He hasn't proven anything to be a 40m player. We signed Ollie for less than 30 after winning Championship POTY and scoring 26 goals.
How many seasons ago did we sign Ollie though? I think inflation has to be taken into account with that example.

When i say if - i cabt see him signing a new contract he inky has 12 months left and he can go anywhere on a free also hw can help with being british so most teams would want him on a free.
Chelsea will cash in i think
Time will tell! I just think Gallagher himself is desperate to really succeed at Chelsea. It will be an interesting summer no doubt. Both incomings and outgoings!

No he wont. If he refuses to sign a new contract he is a goner. No chance they will let him leave on a free.
We have CL football to offer him and he probably knows afew of our boys through england.
He would be a brilliant signing- the energy he will add to our midfield will be superb
Your first sentence says ‘he won’t’ be at Chelsea like it’s a certainty. That all hinges on the word ‘if’ in, your second sentence.
I’ve no doubt he would do really well for us, but i personally think he will be at Chelsea next season. Captain of the his boyhood club etc. They’ll get their act together next season too and be a lot better than they showed this season. They finished very strongly this season. Gallagher is also loved by the fans their, and he know that too. He’s staying there.

Gallagher feels unrealistic. Why would they sell a play that was captain for most of last season?
This. Gallagher will be playing at Chelsea next season.

I mean it’s not quick cut shots of androgynous models wearing the shirt while sitting on steps, intermingled with the players grabbing the badge and screaming while shot in slow motion…..
But it would get a huge pop and I bet Dave would do it after a couple extra pints found their way to his dressing room with a fat cheque for the charity of his choice
100% agree. Great idea and I hope the club are reading this.

Like in the 90’s I’d like us to play Inter Milan. Although I’m happy that we are just competing in the CL.

Even if they announce on 1/6 I’ve got a strong feeling it’s not up for sale until later.
I personally would like Dave Grohl to debut the kit that night at Villa Park just to be a bit different.
Would be some publicity stunt. Innovative!

Alot of my spurs mates say they would happily sell bissouma. I must admit i think he would really add something to us if we could get him for right price
You don’t get anyone from Spurs at the right price.

Me too mate.
It’s just opinion though, there’s no right or wrong answer.
Yep mate, it’s all opinion! Can’t wait for the kit to be shown! I’ve longed for adidas to make our kits all my Villa supporting life. I collect shirts too and the vast majority would be adidas!

Man United sell 2.5m shirts a season, we sell £250k
Then selling 300k with adidas being our kit maker will be no problem at all. I expect us to break club records for kit sales this season.
Someone said earlier that they heard on the For The Love of Paul McGrath podcast that the shirts would be unveiled tomorrow, just can’t find the post now. Anyone know what episode? I normally listen to it but have been away the past few weeks!

Don't understand the clamour to get rid of Digne. He's essentially been pivotal in us having our best season in a long, long time and he and Moreno are probably the most like-for-like replacements we have in the entire squad.
Purely down to his wage I imagine. Yes he would be closer to the end of his career than he would to the start but it's really all down to the contract. He's had a fine season, like the rest of the team.

He's doing 2 jobs on the pitch, we have no defensive midfielder so he's pitching in with that plus trying to be creative, he's overworked.
This.

We could have said the same with Ashley Young last season, doesn't mean we don't need an upgrade.
He didn't say we don't need an upgrade on Cash. He said for all his limitations we'd be a better side with him at RB than we are at the moment, and we would.

Konsa at RB is hard to watch, seems such a waste. How long is Cash out for? It would be a big upgrade to have Konsa back at CB instead of Carlos.
