  1. And who the hell cares? Seriously, your argument is lame and your point is extremely ignorant. Supporting a football club is not like defending your country in a war, it is not last man standing. You, like everyone else, support Villa from a mere coincidence. Either you are born in Birmingham, your father supports the Villa or you watched them on TV when you were little. It could have been any other team, so do not pretend like it is some calling from God that you are supporting the Villa. What we fans deserve is the mutual respect from the club and we are not getting it, and people are fleeding from the ground. We have a big stadium, but we have attendances like any other club that find itself in the lower tier or even the Championship. The pattern is alarming, and like I said in an earlier post, what matters now is getting those "plastics" back to the ground by investing or otherwise enhancing the club. What they are doing now is giving up. Appointing that manager, selling those players, not showing up at the games, not signaling any intent, not giving away any information... just not caring, all in all, making Villa much more harder to support. Are you a better fan? Certainly not, who are you kidding really, you are simply more committed and too afraid of confrontations as a person. A bit like that guy who decides to stick with his wife even though she is caught banging the entire neighborhood. Well said.
  2. My faith in Aston Vila FC is unwavering. My faith in the board and yourself however is now as low as it was when Doug was in charge. Everything you post on here is either incorrect, vague or pointless and you have seemly become just a vehicle of propaganda. I am trying to judge Randy on his actions like you asked, but the complete lack of action makes this difficult. Yes, the training ground is nice, yes the Holte pub is cool and the support of Acorns is hugely admirable but all of this becomes irrelevant should we lose our PL place. Past actions do not retain a league status. During 2006-2008 I used to continuously bleat on about having the worlds greatest owner. At this point in time I find this boast extremely difficult to justify and I wonder if even you could do the same. If you could, I'd like to hear your reasoning. I am not excited about this season, I am anxious and despondent. I would be happy with 17th place come the season end so you would expect it should prove fairly easy to make me a happy fan by equalling or beating my expectation. However the fact my standard for this clubs season is now so low is, quite simply, depressing. Regards
  3. General, I have a question. Will the last player out of VP remember to turn off the lights? Regards
  4. General, I know you probably wont be, but if it was me, i'd be sitting back in my chair gleaming with smugness about how i didn't panic and how i put up with all those people bemoaning our lack of transfer activity 3 weeks ago. I hope everyone who panicked and complained those couple of weeks ago, will show a lttle more restraint and trust next time round. On an aside, is the supporters flag going to be out for the liverpool game?
  5. Hi General, I dont want to write 'Ignore all these fans who criticize you, 99% of fans are still grateful for everything thta has happened' because obviously i can't vouch for 99% of fans. What i do want to say tho is that i beleive the vast majority of ALL football fans are impatient and fickle, and not just at our club. Up and down the country fans are writing the same kind of depressing comments on their relevant fansites. Of course the difference with us is that we have a board member actively listening and responding to our comments. I am disappointed, like yourself, that most of the posts on here are judging our performance in the transfer window before it has even closed. I am also disappointed some of the posts are personal rants against yourself. I believe we have acted responsibly over the 'Gareth Barry affair'. We set our price, Liverpool have failed to meet it. It seems such a simple story that has, due to this country's ridiculous thirst for gossip, scandal and intrigue, and with the aid of our pathetic media, been blown out of all proportion. I would like to share my embarrassment with you at some of these posts and 'rants', and although i respect peoples' right to air their views, i believe they should wait for some real news, events or evidence upon which to base their 'arguments'. Please pass on to Randy that I, and i hope mnay other fans, are still very grateful for the progress the club has made, and that i am still incredibly grateful that Randy decided to buy our wonderful club. I can't think of many clubs who wouldn't want to switch their board for ours.
  6. Great last post general, exactly the kind of post i would have written were i in your shoes.
  7. Excellent post General, i hope it can go someway to alleviating the 'fears' of the minority of villa fans who are worried. However, i'd like to bet it will not. There will always be something else to moan, complain or worry about. I'm sure you realise the majority of fans could not be happier with the way the new board are conducting themselves. I also have a question. My mate is a Watford fan and he tells me that they offer their fans a sort of "long distance fan" season ticket. This is a 15-game season ticket offered to those who live more than 75 miles away from the ground. As i live in London and work some weekends, buying a season ticket is not an option to me, and because of our fantastic away support i often struggle to get to away tickets for London games. I believe Villa have great deal of fans who live more than 75 miles from villa park and would jump at the chance to attend games at a small discount by buying such a ticket. Are the board aware of such a scheme and are there any plans to introduce one?
  8. General, it was me who brought up salaries on the other thread and i just want to say thanks for the answer, i don't want to be taken the wrong way though. I'm not concerned about the salaries, i was just interested as i was hoping it would give an insight into Randy's financial plans for the club. But the fact you and and the other directors aren't being paid is astonishing and, as already stated hundreds of times on this thread, make this club unrecognisable from the previous regime. Thanks again
