  1. I should clarify I meant Young was better than Johnson
  2. **** that. Your only saying that because he's Irish just like your location. Another player that looks good because he's playing around such talent. 4 Premier League medals, 1 Champions League and a regular for one of the top 3 teams in Europe in last 5 years. Im sure if it was due to the talent around him Fergie would have replaced him by now. John O'Shea is probably the most underrated player in the Premier League. Its very rare you see the guy have a bad game
  3. O'Shea>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Young. He is a good player but not a Champions League calibre full back. I would have him ahead of Johnson for England
  4. The one thing I like about Holland is the manager. He is low profile and lets teh players get on with the job. Compare this to last Holland managers were big names like Hiddink, Advocaat, Riijkaard, Van Gaal and Van Basten. He is a lot more low key and i think the players appreciate this
  5. Collison is a bit injury prone and from what i heard West ham fans arent impressed by noble in recent months. Im more surprised they gave Boa Morte a new contract
  6. Arnautovic who was netioned here earlier has signed with Werder bremen
  7. Surprise Surprise Arjen Robben is a major doubt now
  8. Most of them players mentioned wont even start 1st game like Kacar, Subotic and Kuzmanovic
  9. but in Euro 2008 Greece were absolute dreadful and the only negative spot in a brilliant tournament
  10. Im sure 15k is nothing to Michael Dawson
  11. its last game so potentially a dead rubber
  12. YAYA Toure agent said he has signed a contract with unnamed PL club
  13. Are they not similar players? So maybe a defensive midfielder would be best behind them. Cant believe Juventus pulled out of D'Ágostino transfer last year
  14. North Korea are a tight compact team and wont be whipping boys by any stretch of imagination plus they have 1 thing others dont have in this tournament and that is surprise factor. For me Portugal will scrape through with Brazil but Spain will beat them in 2nd Round
  15. Germany and Aussies for me Ghana without Essien are average and Serbia are known for freezing and have bad temperament
  16. Italy should go through they might be old but they are a clever team plus its a swansong for many Italian legends like Cannavaro, Gattuso, Zambrotta and maybe Pirlo. Slovakia for me are a dark horse. Won a difficult group and have good wingers and in Hamsik a player that can unlock a defence like Eastern European playmakers of old. Wouldnt underestimate Paraguay but Cabanas shooting has had an effect on team
  17. If Spain dont freeze they should go through easy. The rest is not so simple. Chile have good attacking philosophy but might come undone for Bielsa again like 2002 Switzerland have best manager in tournament Honduras are a bit of a mystery and could shock people. For good of football Chile to go through but im not sure
  18. Holland look strong and I back them as well. Midfield is strongest in tournament after Spain. Would be a sort of travesty if Dirk Kuyt was a World Cup winner. Danes will be other team through as they did brilliant in qualifying topping a tough group and they always do good at World Cup when they get there
  19. Not as clearcut for England as they think as USA are a good team and Slovenia are tricky ask Russia who are arguably a better team than England. England should go through but a lapse in concentration could have a nasty surprise As for Algeria they will be whipping boys.
  20. Easiest group by a mile for a seed Argentina will walk away with it and people criticize the manager but they were 6th and hadnt won for 7 games when he got the job. Reminds me of Scolari and brazil in 2002 dont write him off. Greece are a awful awful team who will make Fat Sam's teams look like Total Football. Nigeria have a tactical coach now so might be good to get them through but I like South Korea they have energy and a few players to change games liek that lad from Bolton. For me Argentina and Korea
  21. France except for Anelka were dreadful vs Ireland and I see them going out early as Mexico and Uruguay are actually better teams plus South Africa are hosts and will get odd referee decisions
  22. They considered Johnny Heitinga, Everton's player of the year, to be a very poor defender as well before they got rid of him. Atlético giving lessons on defending ? They play Perea every week and he is just awful and amazing how they never bought a decent centre half in so long. As for Pablo Tim Stannard on Football 365 slaughtered him, Simao and Gago http://www.football365.com/spanish_thing/0,17033,9405,00.html "The experienced Atlético Madrid defender is now set to leave the Vicente Calderón club on a free transfer. And the day that the centre-back departs the training ground for the final time, there will be celebrations in the Spanish capital to rival those of their Europa League victory. Pablo has been responsible for more moronic cock-ups than any other defender in recent years in la Liga. Even the fact that he will be free won't be of any consolation to the buffoon of a manager that will be relegating his side even before the season has started by signing him"
  23. Doyle also seems loyal to McCarthy and will probably stay around for a year unless an astronomical bid is made for him
  24. I think its how they train the players. I think i read in the academies the players dont touch the ball until there about 10 or 11 and work on other things like movement
  25. A truly terrible player when Atletico Madrid consider you a poor defender then their is really no coming back
