    Problem for England and the main reason they wont win the World Cup is they dont have a midfielder to set the tempo. This is why Capello wanted Scholes the only English player who can do this. All other top countries(Spain have a few) have Xavi, Cesc, Alonso, Van Bommel, Pirlo, Deco and Veron who do this and England dont have

    Defending so players are having to take those sorts of shots from that far out is perfectly fine. The keeper should save them all day and look for the quick throw to counter attack up field. Im sure if it was a Villa match people on here would be slaughtering our captain :winkold:

    Why has Gerrard got no blame for the goal? Ok Green made a terrible error but Gerrard was turned 3 or 4 times on the edge of the box by Dempsey before getting in his shot

    wont this make him the 2nd most expensive transfer for an English player ever after Ferdinand. He is good but not worth this much especially when a genuine world class player went for only 34 million to Barcelona 2 weeks ago.
