  1. Non twist-off bottle caps. In this day and age is there any reason not to have a twist off bottle cap? It can be really unclear on some bottles too making the first you know about it after a frustrating wrestling match that shreds the skin on your hands whilst you wonder for 2-3 seconds if it’s just on really tight.

  2. Anyone on here watched Archive 81 on Netflix? A great little spooky thriller that goes to some very interesting places I thought, really enjoyed it watching an episode a night with my girlfriend (I think you’d probably find it hard to binge) definitely will have to look out for the lead as I hadn’t seen him in anything before but thought he was very impressive.

Whoever made that **** iphone advert needs to be eradicated from the planet.

Right? never thought I’d be rooting for someone to come from off screen and boot a kids bike over…smug little git 😅

Also mosquitoes, I’ve had one buzzing around keeping me awake all night and now it’s 5:54 and I start work at 7:30 😭

I struggle with the last couple of verses, who is this other girl and the line "Singing the song we wrote
About a girl you used to know." Who is you?

So as far as I can tell the story is that Avril herself is singing the song written by her partner about some random girl he obsessed over in high school. So Avril Lavigne is the singer and the subject of the song is some un-named girl

Yes, absolutely, and I'm sure that probably happens a lot. That's one of a few different reasons why I would guess it might be easy to make a decent amount of money over the short term, but hard to sustain subscriber growth over the long term.

I imagine doing an OnlyFans makes the best financial sense either as a side gig to a main job, or as a way to pay for studies or a qualification. But it can definitely be lucrative!

From what I can tell from anecdotes from friends the best way to make money off it for people who can’t cultivate massive subscriber bases is as advertisement to supplement work at strip clubs and stuff like that

There's a hidden circle of hell, below the frozen lake Cocytus, where they just play this song on a loop for all eternity.

Also has REALLY heavy incel vibes when you think of it. At the end of the song there are lyrics that straight up say the song is written BY the ‘Sk8r boi’ we literally only have the word of a bitter adult man who is still clearly hung up on a girl he had a thing for in school who we have no guarantee even knows he exists let alone regrets ‘missing out’ 😂

You need surprisingly few subscribers to make a living out of it I would think. I don't have any OnlyFans subscriptions - honest! - but I subscibe to a Substack newsletter that costs me about £80 p/a, and I used to subscribe to a Patreon that was even more pricey than that. If you charge a tenner a month, you only need just over 400 subscribers to be making £50k before tax.

EDIT: Actually the above isn't quite right, as obviously the platform charges a fee, but even if the platform charges 25% it's not much more than 500 required.

And you only need 1 of those subscribers to rip all of your content and upload it to a tube site and the whole thing becomes incredibly hard to make work.

Cars tailgating me when I'm driving the speed limit. Happened twice today on the way back from Telford. One was so close it was like I was towing him!

    Citroen Picasso driving skunkpussy!

THIS! I’ve never driven in the UK so I don’t know how common it is there but it’s absolutely endemic here. Most drivers get right up you to the point of danger, both my parents say that the standard of driving is so bad here comparatively that most drivers wouldn’t get a UK license…not sure how much hyperbole that is but I can’t say it would surprise me.

Would you have him as England Coach then ?  Giles and Silverwood now gone.

I hadn’t realised they had been sacked at this point, edited my post accordingly. Honestly I think it could go either way, he could add a steel the English bats in particular are missing but I think he has a very abrasive, no nonsense style that might not translate very well outside of Australia…clearly he even put some of our players out of joint so I don’t think he’d gel well in the English system. Who really knows though.

  10. Honestly with the Carr thing I think there is a disarming sense that he doesn’t actually believe anything like that and it’s an attempt at a cheap shock laugh. My mums side of the family is largely Roma and as someone who has been making a real effort to connect with that part of my family history over the last few years it honestly didn’t offend me too much. A small part of me was just happy someone acknowledged the deep impact it had on Romani people for once as we are often conveniently forgotten about when it comes to discussions of the holocaust amongst your average guy on the street.

That doesn’t excuse it and you can’t be applying certain standards to one person and not another but like with the whole Dave Chappelle storm over his jokes about transwomen it didn’t bother ME personally as much as it would if a serious person like a politician, actor, author etc said the same stuff….Ricky Gervais can GAGF though.

  11. After the ashes I don’t think many people would have thought Langer would be gone so shortly after as coach (he technically quit but the short term contract offer was basically a jump before we push you kind of thing) must be a pretty dodgy team environment from the sounds of it
    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/feb/05/justin-langer-resigns-as-australia-cricket-coach-following-ca-board-meeting

    Quote

Justin Langer has ended six months of speculation over his role with the Australian men’s cricket team by resigning as head coach, as former Test captain Ricky Ponting labelled the treatment of his ex-teammate “embarrassing”.

Uncertainty, which has swirled around Langer’s future since last August, remained following a lengthy Cricket Australia board meeting on Friday at which his role was the subject of “significant discussions”. After the seven-hour meeting the CA board failed to reach a resolution

  12. I always hated my birth name, I’m pretty lucky in that I had a pretty logical reason to change it although I probably still would have done even if I hadn’t turned out to be trans. For me at least a weird name is better than going boring a biblical.

Thinking about it, it’s a bit of a weird feeling knowing you aren’t ever going to pick a name for a kid but having chosen your own 😅

This interested me as I don't know who had the most listens on Spotify and would make their greatest hits

Apparently in 2021 the most streamed artist was bad bunny with 9.1 billion, I genuinely don't have a clue who that is but Wikipedia tells me he does Latino trap, I genuinely don't know what that is either

All I know about that dude is he was on WWE for like 4 weeks and was a surprisingly competent in ring performer

    Or any 'real music'.🤐

🙄 pretentious guff, virtually all music is ‘real music’ specific genres might not be to your tastes but it’s such a bore when people write off everything not exactly to their precise interests as somehow less than worthy. Nothing personal but that’s something worthy of this thread to me

  15. Didn’t realise England had the West Indies up next either but not bad watching at all from the neutral perspective of an Australian on her couch. Oddly I dated a born and bred Aussie grade cricketer over here for a while who was inexplicably a mad Windies fan, he had 0 connection to them and had never even visited, wasn’t even around for their glory years for that to be the reason. I find it weird enough when people support clubs and teams they have no stake in let alone countries…bizzare.

On topic though after taking no interest in the Big Bash League through the course of the Ashes series (T20 is cricket for when no actual cricket is on IMO) partly because my Adelaide Strikers were absolute garbage they have found form and won their last six games to be one game away from the grand final with Carey (much better at limited overs) and Head slotted back into the side…that’ll do nicely 👍

Although it would take an all mighty effort to beat Perth if we get through to that final.

Am I SERIOUSLY being asked to form an opinion on this player based on the views of someone called Elvin Zebra?????

By and large it often seems like the more successful a team the more of their (non local rusted on) fans know the absolute sum of **** all outside FIFA FUT ratings and arguing about whether Messi is better than Ronaldo and from the look of it I doubt Elvin Zebra is a sun dried turin…ian(?) worth listening to. Regardless of what happens at Juventus I doubt they will ever play host to anyone who could be reasonably be described as ‘the worst midfielder I have ever seen’
