I agree, that's just the figure being thrown around in the thread.

I agree 40mil is a bit steep but if we have the money to spend I'd be very happy with this signing.

People are just saying, based on a lot of reporting that maybe he wasn't truthful when he made those statements last year regarding "My club," "My home" yada yada and saying how he fully bought into the project that the owners pitched to him. Not personally attacking the player whilst he's still at Villa. The fact is as much as we can dream about itn none of us have been in a situation even close this. I think the people saying he never loved The Villa and it's all been lies are the ones being a bit ridiculous is all. Maybe he is considering it, it's a pretty amazing offer for a footballer, I don't think any of us can categorically say we wouldn't have our head turned purely because we've never had the opportunity put in our heads. I'll be devestated if he goes (I marginally come down in the side that I think he will stay) but yeah, demonizing him for even thinking about it is a bit much for me.

(Also if I get quoted and don't reply I'm not ignoring anyone, I'm new and only have so many posts in a day)

I think a lot of people are saying a lot of things that are pretty out of order about a player who we know absolutely 0 about where there head is it. If I was in Jack's shoes I know what direction some of you would be pushing me in. How about we hold off and see what happens before the 'money grubbing snake' comments come out?

What a blizzarre thing to care about. Surely you just be proud she's represented your country on the world stage in a positive light and won the freaking medal. 

The vibe in the Matty Cash video as well just doesn't seem like the boys are resigned to him leaving. Gotta admit for a lot of the week I lost hope but it just seems like this story has turned a corner.

I think we have all gone through it so much over this saga and the past 3 or 4 transfer windows in regards to Jack we all have a fair degree of emotional whiplash. Totally fair to read into the club posting that as indication we are at least confident we can keep him, surely lessons would have been learned from the Delph fiasco especially with how much more.professionally we are run now.

Hi everyone. Long time lurker finally joining up to enter the conversation and chip in my two cents. I was born in Brum 28 years ago into a family of Villans and immigrated to Australia 14 years later after many great memories of Villa Park and even a trip to Wembley with my dad for Bolton semi in 2000. I've considered joining up a few times in the past but always been a bit iffy on the time sink it could be but the buzz around the coming season has tipped the scales for me and I think it's a good time to jump in. As for non Villa related stuff I am also a big supporter of the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (a venerable old club with not just a few parralels to the mighty Villa) I play a little amature league (Commitment >>>>> talent unfortunately ) and get around a bit of Warhammer 40k in my spare time.
