  1. Hey guys, sorry if there is already a thread pertaining to this sport but I couldn't find one.

After joining and realising there is a not insignificant little group of my fellow Australians on this forum I thought I would start up a thread to discuss what is going down in what to me is the world's best sport (absence of Villa being the key draw back).

It's been a pretty crazy couple of years in the AFL with the demands of managing a sporting league on a continent sized area with different state governments handling COVID to varying levels of success leading to teams playing away from their home grounds in hubs for chunks of the season, infrequent and capped crowds until this season as well as the Grand Final not being held at the MCG as is traditional for 2 years in a row.

Before going any further I'll just pop this here for anyone unfamiliar with the Australian game, its designed for Americans so excuse the grating accent but it does a very good job of explaining the rules, appeal and structure of the league, with a fair few spectacular highlights thrown in as well.

It's a great time to get a bit of discussion going as we are just entering the finals series on the season with Melbourne, Port Adelaide (woo!), Geelong, Brisbane, The Western Bulldogs (Footscray to give them their proper name), Sydney, Greater Western Sydney and Essendon competing for the gold of the 2021 season.

So yeah, Australians and followers of the game discuss away, if it looks interesting to you and you have questions fire at will.

  2. Raging Fire just came out and unless anything gets released posthumously is the last directorial outing of Benny Chan, it's just a perfectly executed Hong Kong action ride and one of the most fun movies I have seen in a long time. Donny Yen is pretty much the GOAT at these films and is amazing in this as well, story is a bit barebones but thats not really what you watch these movies for. 9/10

Agreed but after this summer you know there are large swathes of the great unwashed who don't realise this.

Three pages in and that already looks like a great time 🤣

I promise I am me though...I do have my facebook linked into my profile 😅

I guess at least Tumblr had a large portion of its site that wasn't explicit content, whereas I'd assume OnlyFans has only a very very small portion of its content that qualifies (if any!)

Like you said, sounds like a nail in the coffin. It's not a million miles away from banning porn from pornhub.

I imagine the plan is to transition to a platform for people to put up music and other SFW creative stuff but I can't really see them cracking into any of the market share already dominated by other platforms for people to do that, I bet after a few lean months you start to see the higher profile influencers get away with more and more risque content pushing the line on all of this.

    Shang-chi reviews are surprisingly good.

Fun fact, my partner works at a VFX studio in Adelaide that did work on Shang-chi and a lot of other Marvel properties and now I cant read it without seeing what their working title was for it 'Sham-wow'

  7. Will be interesting to see what happens to OF from here honestly. I can see WHY they made that change after all the changes from FOSTA and SESTA but you imagine it puts a bit of a nail in the place like what happened to tumblr when they took down all the porn.

FWIW one of my closest friends is a SW who had an OnlyFans for about 3 months and apart from a slight surge in interest all that happened was that her content got stolen and put up on free tube sites so its not like it was that great a platform anyway unless you have a giant pre built following.

EDIT: Also McDonalds is terrible and the only thing remotely edible on the menu is the Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

Very happy about this, I couldnt really give a rats about international football and any decision that keeps our players here and not out potentially getting sick or injured not playing for the club is the right one IMO.

On Emi I think he's showed a lot of what we bought him for, the consistency in games isnt there yet as he gets used to our set up and what his new team mates are doing but you can easily see the quality of his vision and delivery already.

  9. Every job these days has an insanely long hiring process, I'm currently waiting to hear back about one where I have had an interview with the job agency I found it through to go through to the actual process, then a phone interview,  then an online assessment, then an in person assessment centre (god knows how they were different) and finally an in person interview...I understand being thorough but I'm stalling another lower paying job I could accept while I wait and I'm considering just going with the bird in the hand.

  10. Good luck to him, I always wanted it to eventually come together for Wesley but that injury as others have said just came at the very worst time for him and I just dont ever see him being what we need from here. Hopefully he can smash it on this loan and reinvigorate his career somewhere he's happy for a bit of a decent return on the money we paid

Currently playing Valhalla after completing Origins. I’m about 5 hours in and it’s not grabbed me yet, pretty dull wondering about in the in the ice. I hope it gets better when you enter the UK.

Does it get anymore ‘assassiney’ though? Feels like it’s a lot more button bashing than Origins where I played mostly stealthy

It gets MUCH better once you hit England, more interesting Biomes for sure but it never really gets THAT assassiny seeing as it continues the trend of your character not actually being an assassin just loosely working with them as your goals line up.

I enjoyed Valhalla more than origin but its a slog and it annoyed me no end that accidentally squashing a few monks when you raid a monastery leads you to destabilize like that WASNT something a viking raider would have done historically?

  12. Didnt get to watch the game unfortunately but the highlights looked fantastic, that finish on the second was exquisite. Get him out on loan or onto the bench for a few games I reckon, kid could be something a bit special on that evidence.

  13. Recently had my partner move in with me and she brought her PS4 with her so I'm finally getting a crack at all the exclusives I missed out on after backing the wrong horse in the last console gen. Currently having a great time with Horizon: Zero Dawn and Spider-Man. God of War after these and before we know it its time to pick up our PS5 we have coming in October 😎

Spider-Man is probably my favorite at this point, real comfy flashbacks to the PS2 era game just swinging around the city and ignoring the ridiculously crime infested New York streets (I know its a game so needs gameplay but its worse than downtown Baghdad 🤣)
