I know but we have to consider ffp. Part of managing that is selling players at the right time.

£30m on a 4-year-deal means if we sell him this summer we'd have to get back around £22.5m + wages to cover the amortisation costs so can't see it happening.

Personally think he will be a big player next season. His range of passing etc. is a huge plus for Emery. That and (hopefully) European and domestic cup games mean that he will play a fair chunk of games.

  2. Arsenal have had the Adidas/Emirates combo for a while now though so won't have any issues contract-wise with release dates etc. I imagine we are tied to Cazoo until a certain date so can't release the new shirt with a new sponsor until the deal expires.

  3. Hopefully the lad is swayed by the lure of playing in an actual competitive league (and playing for the greatest manager of all time), and chooses us. Emery might even have a word and tell him all about PSG

Thing I love about that video is the effort they put into actually talking to her properly and listening to what she was saying. All while they're getting ready for a massive game. Just seems like we have a lot of recent decent lads in that dressing room who get how much of an impact those small gestures will have had on her.

And love her spirit as well. UTV

And compare it to the Arsenal video doing the rounds of pretty much every player just stone walling a kid while they sign his jersey. We have a really good bunch of lads

  5. I think we will beat Brighton at home on the last day but Liverpool away is so tough to call. It will probably suit us that Liverpool will play on the attack so there is a chance that we can do them on the counter.

I fancy Brentford to take something from Spurs and if Leeds are not already relegated come the last day, that will be a tough match for them too. Two draws for Spurs is a real possibility.. meaning that we could just need one win  to sneak in.

But just to be safe, Emery should plan for two 5-0 wins from our last two games.

  6. Think it will come down to whether the new Spurs manager (whoever that is) wants to keep him. Imagine if it was Poch he might have stayed given the South American appeal but looks like he's Chelsea bound

Didn't impose himself on the game today, I'm still not sure about him as a top 4 player. Out of the 3 we have there now McGinn is more affective and Ramsey has a higher ceiling. Kamara is a better player. Would like to see Aran Ramsey given a chance in there as well and maybe a new player being brought in I think he may find it difficult  next season.

Aaron Ramsey cannot play in the Luiz/Kamara position. He doesn't have the defensive side to his game.

  8. So  the DUP are to vote against it. This is such surprising news.... 🤥

Didn't the UK government try to introduce a bill that would see Stormont work with or without certain political parties? Surely this needs to be the case now given that is it quite clear to everyone that the DUP are simply refusing anything on offer because they have no interest in returning to work and more importantly, have no interest in having a Catholic in a position of power.

I think we're considering Sinisalo as No.2 for next season and that's why he's being named on the bench alongside Olsen, so can come on if needed and the circumstances are right and get some experience, of course some scenerios might mean that it's better to with Olsen and not throw Sinisalo into the deep end, that's the only way I can explain having two keepers on the bench.

I think it was mentioned previously that Emery prefers having two goalkeepers on the bench for emergency reasons - first choice gets injured/sent off in opening 5 mins - would mean that if the backup does the same, you have an insurance policy on the bench

but also nearly all the players are on low wages for Chelsea (not a well known thing, but from speaking to agents/insiders his sense is they're on £100k/year or less).

Sounds like they are being run like an NFL/NBA franchise now - long contracts with lots of 'guaranteed money' up front aka signing on bonus etc.

Out of interest, do player appearance fees, goal bonus etc. could towards their wage/FFP?

Neither side really wants Stormont to work, they just want to be able to blame the other side for it not working

And, for the most part, claim full pay for doing so I imagine
