We already have a LB we paid 25m for and now were loaning him out with no fee coming the other way so we can sign another for 15m who is older with no resale value?

He better be levels above what we currently have, i'm glad it's not my money...

I'd imagine/hope Nice will be taking on a chuck of the wages and will also be paying a loan fee which is better than nothing I guess. Obviously a permanent deal would have been better but doesn't look like the Saudi move is going to materialise for whatever reason

  3. Sad to see him go as he could have been a good squad player but fair play to him saying that he wants to go and be a starter week in week out rather than a squad player. Who knows, the buy back fee could be used one day and he'll be back

This is the one that shows him at his best  dare i say it he has the phyaicality to thrive in the Bailey role   . The bloke is seriously talented. I have to ask why it is only us in for him though.

Did you find this video on a porn website? Some absolute in this from Zaniolo

Ominous news from the trees… looks like they’ve said to hang on in case they need to fly him back.

Why would any transport leave when the person involved hasn't completed their business?

1st part of medical was yesterday and 2nd part today - makes no sense for the plane to leave before the medical is completely finished.

think Bailey stays personally and is an option on the right instead of McGinn

Something tells me that the Newcastle game was Leon's last chance as a winger. Offered absolutely nothing and Emery rightfully hooked him.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up leaving before the deadline

  7. Between him, Carlos and Konsa, we need one of them to find their voice and step up into the leadership/organiser role at the back to replace Mings. Nothing better than hearing Ty calling out in that booming voice of his. Konsa and Torres seem more quiet types

  8. Anyone know what his work rate like? As we saw on Saturday, we need someone who can get back and do their fair share of defensive work - McGinn, Ramsey and Buendia put the defensive shift in when required - whereas a Bailey/Traore don't seem to want to which caused us problems

  9. League Scoring format - Head-to-Head or Classic? Classic for me personally but majority rules obviously.

Happy for Thursday night too if that suits everyone.. say 8pm?

I'll set it up Thursday lunchtimr once we have preferences and participants confirmed

I fully appreciate that whoever our number 2 goalkeeper is isn't going to be anywhere near the level of Martinez. But for the way we play, Olsen just feels the wrong fit. His ability to play out from the back is poor and leads to mistakes and wobbles in confidence and that's not good for a team who primarily always try to play out from the back. That isn't knocking Olsen completely, it's just not his game which is fair enough. I feel like there's got to be a better backup option who's better at playing out from the back out there who could do a similar job.

Great point. For instance Olsen would probably be a solid #2 for a club who are a more direct team and don't need their goalkeeper to be good on the ball - He's a fairly decent shot-stopper
