Has anyone got any of the training gear yet? If so, what is the Castore sizing like (better than Kappas!?) and what does the quality feel like?

That Dan Bardell fella put up a few things on twitter about sizes..

"Been down to shop and got a few bits. Sizing a lot more true than kappa. Picked up training t shirt, shorts and 1/4 zip jacket, all medium and all fit perfectly (I’m 6ft 1). Good quality but shame to see the rubberised badges go."

Was he injured last season? He looked a talent but was off the radar for much of last season. Get him out on loan.

Had a long term injury if I remember correctly

  3. In the background of the Bogarde contract signing picture, they have the lion on its own. Looks really nice.

Wouldn't mind having that with 'Aston Villa' curved around the top and/or bottom.

I really dislike that Christmas tree formation so much really hope it’s not part of next years plans.

Same. Think we looked much better in the 4312 but personally hoping we are moving towards a 4231 for next season. Nice to have the flexibility though I guess if needed.

  5. Maybe they are looking at Otavio for his workrate as a 10. Him, Buendia and Watkins would put in some shift as a front three in the 4321 formation. Then you have Coutinho, Bailey, Ings and even Archer to come off the bench and run at a tired defence. Would have some great options off the bench next season, especially with the 5 substitutes rule.

    Who is she?

Pretty much an ITKon twitter who seems to call an awful lot of things weeks/months ahead of other people. Called Mane to Bayern, Lukaku to Inter and Jesus enviable move to Arsenal way ahead of others

It feels like this window the Big 6 are blowing everyone out of the water and we'll see a proper gap form next season between them and the rest.

City - Haaland in, Phillips in potentially, Jesus and Fernandinho out

Liverpool - Nunez in, Mane out

Chelsea - No ins, Lukaku out

    Spurs - Bissouma in

Arsenal - Couple of Portuguese coming in

Utd - No one wants to join them.

I don't think they are blowing anyone out of the water as of yet. Obviously that can change as we move further into the window

Don't think that works for us as he'll only have 1 year left next summer. So unless they pay a loan fee around £4-5m and cover his wages we wouldn't be interested in a loan.

Yeah this sounds about right or perhaps a loan fee with a mandatory fee at the end of the loan. This would probably work out better for us from a FFP perspective too.

Could this be used as leverage for Bassey? A year at Rangers and some European football may be a good option for Archer

Needs to play at a higher level than the SPL. 4 games against Celtic and 6 European games a season will probably be the only challenging games for him. Much rather him go to one of the Championship teams

  10. I wonder if he is a natural LCB or just plays there due to Kounde preferring the RCB spot?

Personally think Konsa was on his way out before picking up the injury. Don't think SG has been all that impressed by him this season.

Would be a bit gutted to see Mings go. Good player, good captain and an overall good guy.

    hello lads,

I am a Sevillista who likes to read other soccer forums, especially when they have to do with topics related to my team.

Some answers to questions about DC:

-He has not gone to Brazil because, for some strange reason, our players are not in the showcase for the national coaches. Kounde himself has taken a long time to go to France, despite having a great season in 2019. He himself has made many statements indicating that he is not happy with the Brazilian coach.

-There is always talk of DC's mistakes but they are rare, our defense is almost perfect and any mistake is noteworthy, but he is the one who puts out all the fires in defense.

-For me he is the best behind, counting Kounde, I think that Kounde would not have performed as he has without having someone like him nearby.

-I don't think we will sell it below €50M, expensive? Perhaps the age-price ratio is not the best, but it guarantees immediate performance.

-His superiority against the strikers in La Liga has been brutal, like adults against children.

Thanks for the post. Is he a 'ball playing' defender or more of a 'no-nonsense' defender?

not convinced by this whole chambers at no. 6 malarky. rewatched the burley game and he was done on a number of occasions for pace and mobility. he looked exactly how you'd expect a cb playing dm to look.

the change of shape however did look good and played to the strengths of mcginn and luiz. id stick big Tim in from the start and move chambers back to cb instead of konsa

I think he was played to combat Burnley's physicalness. Wouldn't be surprised to see Nakamba come into the side tonight as Liverpool are much more mobile than Burnley and we'll need someone who can get about the pitch quicker

Ignoring goals, do you really think his performances haven't been very good?

From memory, I was nearly always impressed in his appearances for Villa. Hold up play and link up play were always good. Just lacked goals. Judging from this loan move .. he might just be adding that part to his game.

I'd like to see him get a pre-season here and really kick on but something tells me SG has made up his mind and wants his own forward and will sell Davis (and probably Ings) to raise some funds to get one.

I agree with others in saying that it would be a decision that we could come to regret.
