Did anyone else do an involuntary yawn after seeing this? Can’t just be me.

Nah, I think you’re the ........ *yawns*....... only one to have that happen.

Didn't realize this forum changed to North Korea Talk where we must simply fall into line and accept and praise every player that is signed.

Anyway I have said my piece about this player as both a Lyon fan and an observer of French football.  I hope I am proved completely wrong. And I'll certainly back him to succeed the moment he puts on a Villa shirt.

Come on now. No need to be melodramatic about it. You know that's not what's happening here.

‘Werder are happy, the player is happy, the Villa fans should be happy... but Milot will wait until deadline day, just in case something better turns up..’

If he’s not just banging his chops to sound clued up then that’s as mercenary/selfish as it gets. I’m choosing to believe the former and everything’s just fine...

Assuming this is what's happening, how much of this is MIlot and how much of it is his agent holding him hostage to get more money?

Based on some of the comments here,

I expected to see the Right Wing  Nigel Reo Coker.

Obviously it's just Youtube videos but he looks a very skillful player.

You would think he couldn't even control a ball ffs going by our lot.

I agree. He has some wonderful skills and his highlights certainly are exciting (especially compared to what some people were saying in this thread) but to be fair, you can see at the end of several of his moves he loses the ball or kicks it right at a defender. Seems to get out of control every now and then.

If it goes on that long then I suspect other bigger clubs will jump in, especially when you are talking about an 18m fee.

Wouldn't they have been in by now if they were interested though?

To be fair, those are the matches which can make the difference between mid table and where we ended up.

If someone could find that statistic, about the amount of matches we actually threw away from winning positions you would be shocked.

A combination of not being able to take chances and shoddy defending.

I can't remember the exact number of points we "threw away" but it's somewhere in the mid to upper teens. To me the worst was two of those games our opponent had ten men.

Seriously mate, grow up. Just because ive a different opinion to you doesn't mean im wrong. I thought what he played of last season he was poor. Shoot me. Jesus !!

Ha! No need to get so worked up. Nothing wrong with a differing opinion. But as I said you're choosing not to see what can make him successful if all you think he has is work-rate and endeavor.

Great riposte. Love it when you get an informative thought provoking counter argument.

Spare me the pseudo-intellectual retort. If you can't see that McGinn has proven he can be successful at this level than your choosing not to see it. It also didn't help that his first season in the PL was derailed by a snapped ankle.

I think we are desperately short in midfield. Quote me on it if he goes on to have a cracking season but i have my doubts as to whether McGinn is good enough at this level. His qualities are nullified because mostly every midfielder in the PL brings a work rate and endeavour so if those are your main attributes, you are in trouble. I think Luiz is class and will only get better

Wouldn't be Villa if we didn't sign an absolute shite footballer on a decade contract for a ton of money. Good to see nothing has changed with the new leadership.

Why are you so unhappy with this signing?

  11. 1 minute ago, Adam2003 said:

Especially having left a club he loved to be number one here. But while I understand that we can’t just not sign players to avoid upsetting the ones we have.

It's also why Brighton was never a real story. He wasn't going to leave one Gk competition at a potential Champions League team to have another Gk competition at a middling Brighton.
