Women don't play against men in most sports. Why is there only comparison in football?? Most male tennis players would probably beat Serena Williams. Does that mean she doesn't deserve her grand slam titles or sponsorship deals???

Theres comparison in a lot of sports. Have you not been paying attention to the equal pay conversation happening in athletics?

Also who is saying Serena doesn’t deserve her titles/ sponsorships?

1 game is a low sample size though.

I would like to see some more statistics about these games. Would U-15 teams really beat the best female national sides every single time? I find that unbelievable.

A few years back an U15s boys team easily beat the US Women’s National team in a scrimmage.

Don't know why people keep quoting '£33m' it will only reach that amount if he hits certain targets and if he does then he will have been more than worth that amount. As it stands the fee is £28m, which is still a lot, but that's around what Leeds were asking for Phillips last year and what Brentford were asking for Benrahma, we didn't pay those prices but half way into the season a lot of people were wishing that we did.

Because you have to consider the incentives as part of the transfer. Sure it may not reach that but it still comes out of the budget initially.

Pretty sure both Halaand and Werner had buyout clauses that's why they cost less than Watkins, and will probably cost twice as much as him in wages.

Yeah Werner has a £52 million buyout. Haalands is £60+ million but here’s a bit about Haalands contract from last year:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.marca.com/en/football/international-football/2019/12/30/5e0a149f46163f38768b4636.html

In addition to his 20 million euro transfer fee, Haaland will earn over eight million euros a season during the length of his four-and-a-half-year contract. This fee plus his wages will end up costing the club 56 million euros.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport, his agent Mino Raiola will earn a commission of about 15 million euros for his role in the transfer.

On top of Raiola's fee, Dortmund also paid 10 million euros to Alf-Inge Haaland, Erling's father and former Leeds United and Manchester City player, for his role in the deal.

Manchester United were also in the race for Erling Haaland's signature. However, according to The Guardian, the club pulled out of the negotiations after his agent demanded a significant share of any future transfer of the Norwegian.

In total, the transfer plus salary and commission will cost the German club about 81 million euros.

but you have no more idea than me....that,that is the situation.

you are just assuming like me.....I am actually being devils advocate, but the folk who are suggesting patience have no more idea than those who are pissed off.

Because the patience argument is a more rational approach to what is happening.

No one can say for certain what is happening so why get so riled up about what we don't know?

We're willing to pay 30-40m on a goalkeeper and a right back who won't be guaranteed first choice, but we're going to go into the season with Davis and Samatta up front apparently.

Patience.. no need to be so melodramatic.

Would any of these guys be attainable? Bottom of the list?

I don’t watch enough football these days to form much of an opinion tbh.

Villa is my sole/primary focus nowadays.

He isn’t leaving anytime soon but I’d take Saliba.

  8. I’m not worried about what kind of pull we have and I trust we will bring in quality. I’ve always thought that with this group you never know where our signings will come from anyway. My issue is mainly with the whole “we have until October 5th before the window closes” mentality. I’m not suggesting we would wait to sign everyone until then but why do we want to be waiting until 3 games into the season to be finalizing our team? Obviously this is a unique time we are living but wouldn’t there be some sort of urgency with that? Why would we not want to try to bring guys in as soon as possible to get acclimated, especially if they’re foreign guys?

In FM mode here but this is what I’d be doing and have sadly written down on paper ... I’d offer Celtic  a choice of fringe players in Hourihane, Lansbury, Hogan, Taylor, Kalinic, /Steer/Nyland, Samatta, Engels +££? For Edouard & Ajer...

Its weird the six signings I’d be v.happy with are, Buendia & Aaron’s. Watkins & Benrahma + Ajer & Edouard. In real world 0.75% chance of that occurring ...

Let’s get Olivier Ntcham while we’re at it.
