Because if you listen to Southgates interview at the squad announcement he clearly states that now is the time for the new players to be bedding in for Euro 2021.

There are very few chances between then and now for Grealish to "impress" enough to be on that plane.

Thoughts on this window so far:

Almost every player linked apart from possibly Watkins is most likely not happening and I feel our first signing will come out of the blue considering our management and scouting structure now. 

If I were to pick one 'must have' it would be a DCM, not because I don't trust Nakamba (I think in time he could become excellent btw) but to provide real depth in a super important role. That man for me needs to be Weston McKennie and we should be going all out to get him. 

I think we will bring in 4-5 players max, that being two wingers, a striker, DCM and ideally competition for Guilbert. A new goalkeeper who is of suitable experience and standard will be hard to come by. 

And **** hell I hope Jack stays.
