Absolutely not. Had it not been for his injury it's very conceivable he would have hit double figures that season, wasn't he on 5 at that point and had like half a season to go?

A lot of competition for worst signing but he was shocking though.

Libor Kozak struck 4 goals in 14 games in this first season for us, you could extrapolate the same way with him but it would pointless cos was crap too.

Also I don't buy this mythical Burnley game when he was suddenly gonna kick on. I remember him hitting a half volley straight at Nick Pope's bollocks which found its way into the net and a couple of one twos with Grealish.

He’s just posted on Instagram, a picture of him and Neymar out together. It’s official Neymar is signing for us 😜

God, we've definitely stepped up from the days of getting excited about Instagram pics of Nakamba and Milot Rashica.

I actually did realise that but I can see how it looks like I thought it was a direct quote from Gerrard. My point being, I'm sure Gerrard will be keen for Ings to score more, but that won't happen unless he plays him more.

If he scores more, he'll play more 🙂

  4. Surely coaches have a certain set way of doing things and in the course of 7-8 months our lot find out all his routines and ideas and can just nick them for themselves. Its what i do in my job anyway.

I think the opposite. Being first choice when fit relieves any pressure and as we know pressure can increase mistakes.

Competition will possibly increase his workrate and determination but will not cut his mistakes out ( in my opinion)

He's openly admitted feeling intense pressure starting for England and looked faultless for them.

“It always feels like you're on trial here in a good way because the talent and players that are coming through is so vast. That's not something to be necessarily scared by or threatened by. I think it's really healthy and I think we will see the benefits of that on the pitch.”

Only player in world football today dribble with the ball 3 yards behind him.

Technically not even remotely on Gabby or Vassells level.

Not quick. Not really strong. Certainly doesn't put his body in good positions

    Works hard.

That winds me up as well, he can't even win a foul he's that bad. Just goes bouncing off centre halves onto his arse.

  7. Always said he is league 1 level technically. We'll go nowhere with him.

Workrate and stamina no one beats him, he's just a woeful footballer and it's painful to see him try and do anything with the ball at his feet.

A striker who can take their chances would be nice

I don't know how people can watch us and not think we desperately need a striker.

It's not just taking chances, it's having a player that can cause panic and uncertainty to the centre halves, whether it's being able to come short and take the ball into feet use strength/pace, peel off the last man, we've got nothing.

    Interesting observations...

Martinez was very very desperate to talk to Mings about something...anyone any good at lip reading from the side?!

Spink went straight to Mings as if they were best mates.

Loads of the champions of Europe completely ignored Gerrard, but started shaking hands with the owners standing next to him.

I'd file those as just observations to be honest.
