  1. He's been wank since the day he got here and he will be wank until the day he leaves. He's awful, simple as. He's crap, he can't jump, he's immobile and dives like an old man sitting down. People saying he had no chance with the goals...Jesus Christ. The 4th one was pathetic and exactly what you expect from him, the 2nd one you can't head a ball across the goal like that against a top class keeper. When he does that run across the goal like a bag of spuds its painful viewing

Amazing these people are employed as “experts”

Some Villa fans want these people talking about us more regularly. Why? They don’t know anything.

Fair play to Lee Hendrie though. Out of all of them in that video he at least seemed to get it about Gerrard not knowing best system, lack of progression etc. Not surprising as he actually watches us week in week out unlike the other clowns.

Villa players called Carlos will blow hot and cold. Remember Carlos Sanchez & Carles Gil(close enough)?! They were the same.

Carlos Cueller used to the drop the odd bollock as well.

  4. Spurs are so limited. It's just  a front 3 of pure pace where the tactic is for the wide forward to get a yard and to put it across the box for the opposite wide forward to tap in at the back post, which with Werner and Brennan Johnson is annoyingly successful considering how limited they are as footballers. A bionic man CB to breeze past he opposition breakaways covering up how shit they are defensively (convinced he's not a got good defender) and enough athletes across the pitch to press the opposition into submission. Saying that, that style vrs Chelsea would make it very 50/50, both sides will go for it, it will be mayhem and basically be who takes their chances imo.

The Spurs home game and today versus Chelsea are examples of Emery sometimes thinking too much. Wish he would just back our players who man for man are better than those on Spurs and Chelsea.

We aren't able to though. We massively struggle against pace and physicality which those two teams have in abundance. In those games we've rarely looked like winning man for man battles.

    Jesus, the hand gestures.

Yes, it can increase your impact when engaging with your audience. It can also annoy the f**k out of them too.

  7. Barry at his peak for us in Midfield was incredible Absolute shoe-in.

But id love him LB in this system just to see him and Torres playing from that side together. It would be surgical.

Although we'll get both, Champions League qualification over a UECL trophy all day for me.

    • The UECL is cute little tournament, but it has no history or prestige. It was invented in 2021. It would be brilliant to win it, but, see below.
    • There's no qualification round in the UCL next year. Once you're in, you're in a massive group and we'd be in the worst pot of teams, so we'd definitely be drawn against some European giants. Villa in a competitive match European match against Madrid, Barca, Bayern? Beating one of those teams at VP under the lights? Imagine!
    • People saying 'it'd be a footnote of history' - I just disagree. Villa have not been in Europe's elite competition for over 40 years. It would be a historic achievement to be in it. And I definitely remember when Spurs got in under Redknapp, Leeds got in, Newcastle got in, etc.
    • If our squad get the experience of playing in the CL against elite European opposition, think about what that could do for their development under Unai. Who knows where that could take us.
    • We'd probably be able to keep all of our players, whereas we probably wouldn't if we don't. Revenue, long term club health, all improved. People ignoring this fact are the same ones that will be moaning if we have to ship off Jacob or Dougie in the summer if we don't get in.
    • Unai will win a trophy at Villa. We may not have a better chance of UCL qualification than we have this season, for several years.

    But yeah both

    The pot is largely irrelevant.

Each team will play 2 teams from each pot (one home, one away) to create an eight game fixture list of roughly equal strength

I'm in my fifties and have sat in the same seat for every game since the Holte End Upper was completed in December 1994. It's about one third the way from the front and fairly central. I don't claim to be as loud or frequent as the fans towards the back of the Upper Holte, but I do join in with most of their songs, in the hope it will encourage more fans in the stand to join in.

On Saturday against Brentford, I was informed by the bloke in front of me that I was clapping too loudly. Slightly shocked, I think I muttered something like - 'Well that's what I intend, that's the point', which I admit wasn't the most succinct response.

It's not my future intention to moderate the volume of my support, but I'm curious - has anyone else had someone complain that their support was too loud?

No but certain areas of the Trinity and Doug (i sit all around the ground as i dont have a ST) you will sometimes notice funny looks if you have the temerity to shout or sing. The place is library.
