there was seemingly no belief that we could go on to get a 3rd goal rather it was more the inevitable that they would equalise
Think it was more fear than belief but there is definite nerves that set in as soon as we concede at 2-0, the crowd becomes tense and I think the players feel it and become more jittery. We need to break out of this habit before it kills our season.

Where is he? Injured?
I think from the press conference it was something about a small problem. I think it was in the context of injuries but it always annoys me that journos don’t follow it up with a couple of basic questions about what it is or when he’ll be back.

Sorry if it’s been covered already but are we losing anybody to suspension as a result of those bookings? I remember reading something a few days ago that we had a few players close in this tournament.

John McGinn has come out and said that the atmosphere was flat at the end and we should be pleased with the win, but the players looked subdued at the end also. The clean sheet and 2 goal lead would have meant so much. We didn’t completely blow it but we made life harder for ourselves.

Well, the Villa way would be to beat Lille home and away, beat Arsenal then lose to Bournemouth
That would be amazing!

So excited!! Think we’ll win but it will be close. Do some heavy rotation against Arsenal, hopefully have Cash and/or Lenglet back for the second leg and see it out.
I predict win tonight, lose Arsenal, draw away leg, beat Bournemouth. That would do.

Draws are draws pens irrelevant extra point for going through.
This is what I’ve read too.

Griezman looks like 1983 George Michael.

I think he's hinting at a stadium move
But I thought the club had said emphatically that this wasn’t happening but fans seem to be trying to talk it into existence (I would be open to it but don’t think it’s happening).

Club could potentially have great plans but if they could potentially cause gross uproar they may be apprehensive to press ahead.
Like what out of interest?

Our game against Liverpool has moved to the Monday 8pm slot. I can see it’s a good game for tv but rubbish that our last home game of the season (the best season we’ve had in years) will be a Monday night. Loads of people going to be rushing off as school/work early next morning/kids to get to bed. Hopefully the players still get an an amazing season send off from the fans.

I think we beat Arsenal on Sunday
Not a chance but I think all games after that are winnable, even Liverpool at home. We need to suffer the inevitable Arsenal defeat, keep our cool (fans and players alike) then finish the job. Two wins out of the remaining should see us out of Uniteds grasp even if they go on a run.

Ref did well with that. Absolutely correct.

The group's debut will be at the Bournemouth game mate.
Fear not, no drums.
Just flags, banners, and noise!
Good luck, I hope it goes well.

Yeah we don’t want any drums. Just flags, banners even balloons which I used to love seeing in the 90s. Hopefully it takes off. I think fan groups really need to push for crazy train to be stopped. Hi Ho Aston Villa is great , but leave it at that . Got no objection with the fireworks either . I was sat in K4 third row from the front yesterday and it was pretty good in terms of atmosphere . The Small Heath get battered chant seems to get most of the ground going I noticed yesterday.
Isn’t Crazy Train just walk out music though? The team need something to walk out to, and CT is better than the old music. I don’t think Hi Ho is walk out music, just a pre and post match song.
I noticed that the club played Hi Ho about 8 minutes before kick off on Saturday and then cut all noise, presumably to let fans generate their own atmosphere. It didn’t quite work as I don’t think anybody was expecting it and the silence was initally deafening. A couple of songs caught on eventually so they should probably keep doing it and see how it goes. It would help if all the drinkers didn’t stay in the concourses until the last available minute though.
Things that I think the club do well- I know they’re not to everyone’s taste but I really like the big screen goal complications, “Giant is wake” video and the dark lion. Not sold on the fireworks and flames for every single match, prefer for just night games and big games.

Pressure is actually off us now. It’s all on Spurs to maintain their position.

Maybe United are just not as sh*t as we keep saying?

Woken up this morning more annoyed about the result than I was yesterday when part of me were just glad we didn’t lose it to a last minute Toney winner.
I do think spurs will pip us to 4th. They are able to put out their strongest team due to no injuries or suspensions and have less matches than us to play. (Edit - I mean in terms of conference league, I know they have games in hand).
I don’t think we will fully capitulate and will have enough to keep 5th and my big hope is that 5th is enough for CL.
If we end up with Europa League, I will be disappointed having been top 4 for most of the season but we will have still progressed and I’d have been happy with that at the beginning of the season.

Up to the point where we conceded he was one of the best players on the pitch.
But he, like the whole defense, just cannot stay concentrated for 90 minutes and that ultimately cost us what should have been an easy win
He was v good first half and got serenaded off the pitch. But it went downhill after our second goal.
