I’d take a point to be honest. I think the Spurs game bizarrely is of more interest than ours simply because we just look absolutely hopeless and tired at the moment to the point we may not pick up another win all season.

If you told me we’d lose tomorrow but so would Spurs, I’d bite your hand off.

Well yeah mathematically us both losing would be better than us drawing and them winning. Not good for the confidence though. The danger is if we drop points, it will give spurs a glimmer of hope I don’t want them to have going into their game straight after ours finishes.

Brighton missing quite a few players. Their team picks itself

    Steele

    Veltman

    Dunk

    Webster

    Barco

    Gross

    Gilmour

    Enciso

    Pedro

    Adingra

    Wellbeck

    Still a decent team tbf.

It is decent. When I saw their list of absentees I didn’t realise they’d be able to still field a pretty good side.

Can’t be relegated before they play Tottenham so once again the schedule is in our favour

Is it possible that Forest’s appeal gets sorted this week? If they get a point back,  It could relegate Burnley cos their GD is so bad.

I actually think the players could do with a game away from Villa Park. They seem to be struggling a little with the pressure and expectancy from fans to win the game. That mixed in with fatigue and players seem anxious.  Massive contrast to how well they played with the ball against Arsenal.

Interested to see how they get on against Brighton.

edit: 6 game form table backs this up. 11th at home and 3rd away.

Yeah I’ve said before I’m not sure how much this welcoming the team bus with thousands of fans and flares is actually helping them. I think it’s adding to the pressure. I’m sure the club like it though - all those extra pounds being spent with fans getting there early. That might be the sceptic in me though.

i would risk him (if he is fit).

Absolutely. If we lose to Brighton and spurs manage to pick up points against Liverpool 2 hours later, they’re back in the race for top 4.

If Emi can play, he should play.

Someone was in my seat and wouldn’t move so I told a Steward and he said nothing he could do about it!

In the end I found a steward that sorted things out but pretty much missed the first 10 minutes while all this nonsense was going on.

    Atmosphere was great.

Thank god the young lad in the Holte end is ok. 🙏🏽

    Why wouldn’t he move?

  7. We’ve done so well with the Thurs-Sun routine because we’ve controlled the pace of the midweek game and conserved energy for the weekend. Worries me that despite how crap we were against Olympiacos, I felt that we expended a lot more energy than we did in any of the other mid week games.

It’s time to dig deep and really put 4th place to bed. Don’t give spurs even a glimmer of hope.

His answer to the question was “we are playing a lot of matches”.

    was a mistake by Emery.

A massive one. I love him but when we’re already weakened by the absence of Kamara, Tielemans and Martinez, why would he weaken us futher? He could have rotated when one of Youri or Emi were back at least.

I know Dendocker wasn't great and was on a big wedge but in hindsight could we have just kept in him the squad until the summer?  Hindsight is a wonderful thing though.

I thought the Dendonker loan, when we had so few midfield options, was odd at the time, hindsight hasn’t come into it. Emery insisted that he was happy to loan Donk and put faith in Tim, yet clearly has very little faith in Tim at all as we have a midfield crisis and he is still not playing him. Donk would have been an experienced option.

  10. It’s clear that they’re all desperate to play Champions League and the owners are equally keen. But although we seem closer to it than ever, watching how we’ve performed against Olympiakos and Lille makes me slightly dread how hard it’s going to be. If we do qualify will we have big funds to strengthen in the summer?

Hey, even if we dont get another point, finish 5th, and get dumped out the cup, its still been the most amazing season in ooh, about 30 years!

    Because we competed.

Because games against the big clubs were no longer forgone conclusions.

Becasue some of the football we played was a pleasure.

Because mostly, the players were loving it, and enjoying it.

Because the fans in the ground were louder, longer than I can remember - to the point it was mentioned in almost every game tv commentary.

Because peope begane once again, to care.

Because we were talked about again.

All true but if we don’t achieve 4th or the cup win, it will take me a while to really appreciate all of that, but I will.

Ben Davies out for the rest of the season now.

Not sure what Spurs even do at LB now, start Emerson Royal and move Porro to LB? Palmer will be all over the space he leaves behind.

Spurs fans seem to think they could go to a back 3 with vdv playing on the left or Royal at LB.

And Timo Werner out for rest of season. Not sure how significant these injuries are for them.

I'd guess so - the thing is the tickets are showing as purchased in my online account - I can make them available for resale, I see the details on them, I've got the transaction number - everything I'd usually see. When i open my account online, it's got a thing at the top that says "next event - Aston Villa v Olympiacos - with my seat numbers and so on.

I just don't have any way to get to the barcodes.

I hope work appreciate that I'll be spending an hour on the phone to the Villa tomorrow ffs.

Just email ticketsales@avfc or whatever it is tonight and I bet they reply tomorrow morning.  They’re pretty quick.

I've tried (I think successfully) to log into the Villa App, but in the ticketing section there it says there are no tickets to show - even though they're showing in my account on the website.

It's weird, I've got everything I normally have, except the one thing I need - the tickets themselves.

Mine came with the email but at least you’ve had your email confirmation otherwise I’d be worried for you. Has the money gone out of your bank?

I bought my season tickets when the tickets went on sale, ticked the print at home option as required and received the email.

The email usually has a confirmation and the tickets included as either an attachment or at the bottom of the email, ready to print and I've just forwarded them to work to print (because this isn't 2002, I don't have a printer) and discovered that the email is exactly as it usually is except....no ticket. The confirmation is there, but there's no attachment and the tickets aren't visible in the body of the email.

Has something changed, is this an error by the ticket office, can I get hem sent again?

    Baffled.

Have you just not forwarded the attachment or is it the same on your phone
