I think he has the ability and he has been able to show it. He has had very good games for Villa and also bad (by most parts soon after injury) and i think its unfair to judge him based on that spell. Though for me good performance in Championship says little about what you are able to do in Premiership due to totally different football. For me it is more notable if you have showed good performance vs Premier league midfielders in national team games.

He was in this spot for 2-3 mounths spot and did very well. Last fall he started in this spot for Dean Smith and did ok, then he got injured at the end of oktober and went to surgery and came back in the end of desember begining of january and wasnt able to play well and lost hes place. From end of january til the end of last season he was on the bench(outside of squad for some of theme)

Great argument, the players that have been bought to the club apart from Mings and Targett have never played in this division. Very exciting players for me, but it could take mounths/year to adapt to this football, english kulture ecs. Unfortunately in many cases that have been situation. But hopefully it will go to the other way this season.

He is the only one in current squad who have played, played well and score vs. premiership players (similar quality)last years. Thats facts. Championship is totally different football and a lots of premiership quality players have dissapear or not being able to play well in that division.

When i say proven im talking about players that have been regular starter in their team in PL and have been able to have valuable impact. Gudmundsson and Gunnarsson have been able to that and statistic speak for itself in those cases. Gylfi Sigurdsson was on top 10 list over highest goalscorer 2018 - 2019 and along with Paul Pogba only midfielder on that list. In addition he has score most goals from freekicks among all the current players in the league. This statistic would for sure give you place in Englands squad.

He has played total 325 games and 75 national team games which is 23% of total. That is not low sample size. Alright, midfield players of Iceland are all proven premier league players, and one is proven serie a and upfront is one of the best goalscorer in Bundesliga (Finnbogason could help villa - contract expires 2020). Good players and good organisation. But most of all it is strong unit - thats for sure. Throughout hes carier he has had options of play in Premier League, the management team from that clubs have relised that he is cabable of doing it. And im sure that Dean Smith, John Terry and all the other in the management they know what they are doing and make their decision based on what is best for the squad, for me they have been doing extremly well in their decision and i know it will continue.

Ok, Gislason was one of regular starter in fc. kobenhavn when they dominated the league and in some media in denmark they told that he was highest paid player at some point. Im not able to confirm that.But for me it doesnt matter at all. Nicklas Bendtner is for me one of the most talented player from Scandinavia, played brilliantly well for Arsenal for apprx. ten years ago and if he was ok in hes head i think he definetly would be signed to some club in Premiership, La liga, Bundesliga, Serie A. I have never said that Bjarnason should be a starter in this team, i have said that he could be good squad player and that he was the only player in this squad who has played on regular basis (International team for example two major tournament in last three years) vs premiership players or similar quality and was able to do it well. I said nothing else.

I dont know if he has attitude problem but to survive in this league Villa will need to have proven goalscorer and there are not many around so i would take him. Pissing suggesting, i have been fan of Sturridge since i saw him first for many years ago and hes me for one of the best goalscorer in this league if hes fit. I like this club and i want theme to do well in this league and big part of it is to have proven PL goalscorer in the squad. There are none at the moment.

Sturridge would be great squad player, could be supersub. Proven goalscorer in Premier League are very valuble and out of this 4 Sturridge is by far the best. If Villa get him than its huge signing for newly promoted team.

I dont understand why it does matter if im from Iceland or England. I was talking about facts when i was talking about France national team midfielders who all plays in Premiership. I have been watching Villa for 2,5 years now and i like this club like many others English, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic and Norwegian, this is huge club with great history. In this case statistics speaks for itself and showes you that he is only player in this squad who have experience and have prove himself versus highest quality player is Bjarnason. Im not saying that he should be starter, im saying that he could be very good squad player, solid, versatile and experienced player who sniffs up chances and can score goals.

I would never compare or give similar quality stamp to Gíslason (who is squad player in the team - tough he was best player in danish league with fc kobenh. at least highest paid ) and Frederik Schram who was 3 keeper in last world cup beacause of an injury and have play in 4 or 5 friendly matches. Comparing these player with keyplayer like Bjarnason is not realistic. Bjarnason playes 90 minutes in almost every game. Ofcourse its stamp of quality if you are able to play keyrole in two biggest football tournements in the world and play well and in addition score versus France and Portugal .
