  1. As much as i would NOT like to see Curbishley or Fat Sam ever being our manager for a second -i think its relatively safe to say they would not have us so casually flirting with the dunces corner of the bottom of league as ..somehow Houllier has somehow managed to do.

If we only just stay up - part company -simple as that.

Go on great run from here on now - well maybe Houllier will deserve another season.

  2. I voted go but meant going in the summer. I wouldn't want him to leave right now. That would be really stupid.

I just feel as those he hasn't clicked with Villa and has been a nightmare for us not just by results, but by his comments as well.

I can understand some want him to stay but the only reasons I'm seeing is fantasy stuff. I fear he could do a ramos on us if he was given another season.

    Pretty much same here.

If we go on a great run from here on now then fair enough Houllier will deserve another season.

It we continue to stumble away or even only just manage to stay up he should be kicked out pronto. He wouldnt have deserved another season.

  3. Christ Houllier has far less backing than I thought he'd have on here especially as many posters have stated they've voted stay but that they'd like him to stay for now then piss off at the end of the season.

This is why the poll should be changed imo.

I don't thinking most ppl who have voted go - neccesarily mean go now .

And vice versa reckon a lot of ppl have voted stay - might mean just stay for rest of season.

Thus this poll is pretty uselss as it is at the moment.

  4. My point is, you take interviews too seriously. They mean nothing. They are just entertainment. Part of the media deal. You should know that.

    About this polar opposites:

Probably lost in translation there. zzzzbbbbbuuuuuh I'm not english and I'm not English. And after this I'm probably on the black list (if not already?) I'mmmm ... **** it rant continues

Houllier done a good job this far? - Depends. What his job is this season (?).

Hmmm...interviews usually give you a reflection of the person talking and their ideas on the job they are doing . If a manager is talking jibberish in an interview - its not exactly encouraging .

  5. Aston Villa doesn't need Houllier, let's get that straight. This man has disrespected this club continuously, add in his inept management where we can't even defend corners.

Expectations have sunk so low now that most now think that only Houllier can actually get this team to play possesion based football...... It's pretty sad really...

    You don't mean that.

    ?

That seems to be the only defense for Houlliers pretty shambolic regime i hear from most - ie- we play decent football in patches . Forgive me if i think good football and results are not polar opposites and think theres plenty of managers who would not have us stilll talking of "staying up" in **** MArch with this squad and alienating himself with awful interviews and routinely shooting themselves in the foot

Interviews are meaningless. Food for thought, yes. Would you consider your posts 100% informative in your your CV?

If you want top4 finish, you shouldn't be so negative about good football. Without good football there will NEVER be top4 finish,

And if you want Champions League football, good Premier League football isn't enough.

We need good football. And we are improving ... err IMO.

er..my job isn't posting on forums about football related ....my CV? posts? what?

Houlliers job is football management - - interviews are part of his job . So dnno what you are on about ?

i said good football and results are NOT polar opposites.

So....dnno where you are coming from tbh

.Houllier done a good job this far?

    No

  6. Good lord expectations have not sunk. Next season myself and many others expect us to be challenging for Europe.

    Based on what?

Because I believe after a full pre-season and another transfer window Houllier will hopefully have been able to ingrain his new philosophy into the players that are capable and shipped out the ones that are not and brought in adequate replacements.

    That is wishful thinking.

Don't even mean that in a bad way - but it is pretty much just belief based on nothing .

Unless Houllier conjures up a great run from here on now i think he should be shown the door in summer. If he cannot get this squad doing well why should we believe he is capable of ripping it up and starting again?

    based on what?

  9. we are pushing the ball around better in area's that are not hurting the opposition.

In the business area's of the the pitch i.e The Box

we are conceding goal like they are going out of fashion and at the other end we are missing chances like a naive fool.

There is no cuuting edge in the team or any kind of ungency.

Make him director of football and deal with transfers and bring in a young up and coming manager.

    sort of agree

tho a manager for us doesn't have to be young - far from it - id rather us have a manager with bit of experience tbh. But one thing they have to have is some form of **** energy and enthusasim.

They don't have to bleed claret & blue or jump around on touchline like O'Neill but they have to have drive and some form of energy and drive -even if its only for their ego . Something of which i stuggle to believe Houllier has...at least now.

  10. We lose against Wolves we really would be in the shit.

    Stating the obvious i know.

But sometimes the obvious goes pretty unappreciated by some..

I can actually appreciate Houllier has got us to pass around a lot more but he has to take flack for his results and his baffling own interviews .

I really do not buy into this idea he inherited a crap squad etc ..and that is why i think Houllier should be let go at end of season - unless he drastically changes some of his ways and theres a flurry of great results from here on now till end of season.

If he just limps us just over safety - he really does not deserve another season. Simple as that imo.

To be in **** March and still be talking of "staying up" has took some serious doing.

  11. The mainstream media have definetly picked up on our annoyance from Wednesday. Just mentioned on MOTD plus several papers since Wednesday.

Thats because he blatantly , unncessarily and so obviously made a hard game harder for next to no reason. Anyone and everyone could see that.

It wasn't even understandable in the way what O'Neill did at Moscow.

Its gone now - but may well have inadvertly started another rut given todays result (despite a good performance).

  12. All the people who want him out. How many of you mock teams like Newcastle for having a merry go round?

    what?

replacing a manager for doing rubbish in the summer would hardly makes us Newcastle - what are you on about?

  13. Don't mind / Quite like the squares as well.

Think our Nike shirts of last few years have on the whole been very good. Especially last seasons.

Certainly better than some of the rubbish we used to have.

Some ppl seem to have tinted memories of some of our 90s shirts but seriously most of them were awful imo.

  14. We've got rid of and dropped some of the players who are no longer interested in playing for the club and results are starting to improve. Coincidence? I think not. It was always going to take time and a change in formation/playing style mid-season was never going to be routine. Win against Wigan and we're only two points off the top half. After such a disasterous season it's not looking too bad now we've been able to get rid of bad influences and bring in a couple of quality additions. Whether or not you like the man he is starting to turn things around and it was ridiculously unfair to judge him based on three or four months. I think it's fair to judge him in 12-18 months where he's had three transfer windows to perform, and I'd say he's done a bloody good job so far in the first one - both with the ins and outs.

Disagree a bit. Houllier made unneccesary problems for himself at times(liverpool game / talking too much) in last few months and regardless of cirumstances has to take critisicism for simply unaccpeatle results and some shocking performances - league position is still a disgrace,

However yes done well this transfer window and seems to be better vibes amongst the place at moment and am relatively confident we will do well under him now.
