  1. Nirvana might be overated but they were a cracking rawkus band with a lot of energy and whatever you think of Cobain he definately had bit more going on upstairs than most or at least in rock.

In Utero is a fantastic sounding album.

Could you imagine Coldplay or say The Vaccines (current NME faves) coming up with a Radio Friendly Unit Shifter??

    Not in a billion years.

The whole suicide muddied the water but Nirvana were a cracking if simple band but with some real talent and just sheer energy

  2. Where are the Beatles on this list?

It's not that they're bad, they're just not the greatest thing that's ever happened to music, as many would have them.

    IMO of course.

    Love the Beatles myself..

the endless praise may be irritating but i dnno - so many tunes in what was pretty brief period of time.

I heard I WAnt You (Shes So Heavy) the other day and rminded me why i like them so much

  3. the sex pistols by a million miles

sid vicious could hardly play guitar and jonny rotten got the singers position because he had a t-shirt which "i hate pink floyd written on it"

and the smiths were amazing, johnny marr is brilliant and morrisseys lyrics are hard to beat

Sid Vicious was bass player and wasn't even recorded on Never Mind The Bollocks. Bass was played by Glen Matlock.

Anyhow Nevermind The Bollocks is a fantasically produced punk album.

Ironically for all the Pistols "chaos" they had a very well recorded album.

And whilst John Lydon may irritate - i suggest you listen to some of early Public Image - great way with words and great frontman for a period.

I say this as someone still in their 20s but youre trying to tell me this is shit?:-

    no way!

John Lydon tho full of contradictions - should be admired

  4. On CM 03/04 years ago I won everything!

    Premier League

    FA Cup

    League Cup

    Charity shield

    European Cup

    European Super Cup

    Intercontinetal Cup

Back in the times when I could manage a whole season in one sitting. 22 years into the game.

Wish I'd kept my save game filed :(

real test would have been on this :--

  5. To The Beatles Dear Prudence (Houllier is a fan after all):-

    Dear Houllier,

want you to get the team to play

    Dear Houllier,

please dont be shit today -aaaaaaaaay

    The sun is up

    claret and blue

    don't be shit

    its up to you

    Dear Houllier

won't you please not be shit today

  6. I dont not want desperate sam, good manager but i do not want to see that, i doubt he'd come for 8 games anyway! Owen coyle. I'd also like to see a former villa manager i.e. graham taylor on the board, need more football people involved in the football decisions.

Graham Taylor as an advisor/ambassador type role is good shout. Or just ask his advice now.

The bloke, sad as it was, was out of touch when he came back the first time. The thought of putting him in charge of these petulant, arrogant wasters is petrifying.

    Indeed.

Have big respect for Taylor but is **** ridiculous to even suggest him.

  7. David Moyes .

Everton don't have a pot to piss in and think he would now walk from them.

Yes theyve not had a great season but again they dont have a pot to piss in / sold likes of Pinear for peanuts /still comfortably in top half -hes done all he can there.

  8. he has no passion for the game, no tactical awareness or positional sense, he is an awful player and always has been

He's not an "awful player" . Far from it.

Altho playing alongside Robinho did make Ireland look better than he is.

  9. Seems the people who hate Houllier know more about him than I do. Interesting...

Still, he manages Villa. End of. People on here act as if he prioritises Liverpool over Villa.

A lot like the situation with Torres. The fans that actually care that he isn't scoring seem to be the gloating Liverpool fans saying that Chelsea but a prospective talent with a recognisable name....Give over

    er what?

  10. He isnt helped by talking constant crap and shooting himself in the foot either likle team selection against Man City.

Its no suprise that few knives are out in the press given his inability not to talk gibberish and lets face it abysmal results this season.

Talk all the gibberish in the world if you are winning and succesful and no one would care . If you are not tho - don't.

    Simple.

  11. Absolutely LOVING this poll result so far. Its exactly what we need, the faithful need to get behind the manager and club

    The rest can do one.

Coming from the only person that thinks relegation would be a good thing, I think your post can be taken with a pinch of salt...

His post about relegation maybe being a good thing and still keeping Houllier was indeed the silliest thing ive read in a good long while .

  12. I think it's a bad move because he's better than half the midfielders we still have at the club, and should be playing ahead of the likes of Bradley, Petrov and Pires. An injury or suspension to the likes of Makoun and we could use his passing ability.

Disgaree tbh and we can recall him if needs be (least i pressume so?).

As much as i like Bannan we aren't or least shouldnt be reliant on him .
