I'm not even sure what kind of player he is, as he seems good alot multiple things.

Even if he doesn't start all the time he is a major improvement of some of our midfield options of past.

He will only get better as well.

he's a no.8 basically, good hustler, active presser, good tackler, good passer, has decent vision, he is also pretty good going forward but we havent seen so much of that yet rly, he's just a good all round player!

tbh, i think he's an 8 or a 10, but prob more of an 8.

Wait what? How was that not an assist?

cus if u watch closely, you will see Fred kicked the ball away from him, straight to Ramsey, who then scored.

It didnt go down as an assist officially either.

doesnt rly matter, he still had a hand in the goal, scored and just his presence lifted the players on the pitch, was a great debut regardless :P

Think Coutinho style impact sub for rest of the season is smart move based on his very dodgy fitness record so far.

Get him off the bench winning some games like his Everton cameo and then spend pre season working out how to get him into the first 11.

Don't think he ever played false 9 position at Leverkusen but could be wrong.

when fit (hopefully soon), it will be great to have the choice of Coutinho, Buendia and Bailey for those 2 x no.10 slots, as you say, whichever of those 3 doesnt play, can be a good impact sub.

I think Bertie will be behind those 3 as a 4th backup option, although tbh, if we can persuade Chuka Jr to sign a contract, would put him 4th.

I think El Ghazi and Trez are pretty much surplus.

Can you imagine the confidence and boost, a debut goal and assist, plus feeling the love will give him, after what he's been through?

he didnt get an assist m8.

  5. i dont think he is good enough for where we want to be, but i am hoping he does well so he can get himself a good move and make us some cash, some comments from his game today (Milwall 0 - 1 Forest), Davis started, was subbed on 72mins.

the below is from the Nottingham Forest Fan Forum.

When they scored he was hitting the ground in frustration. He was distraught. He really does care.

i hope he isnt too down, cus i thought he was our second best player over the course of the entire match (behind Buendia).

He seems to get a reaction out of them at half time after what is probably a rollicking, he even said so in his post match interview. Agree we will shoot up if he can get that aspect right.

problem for the players is, the ones who keep not listening will be binned off.

which tbh, is a good thing.

  8. i thought overall we were very, very good (interlaced with some super infuriating moments and idiotic mistakes)

The biggest issue, aside from the silly goals conceded, was that we huffed and puffed a lot and once again lacked the clinical finish (we could have had a couple more goals imo if we were clinical/composed), however the two goals were brilliantly done.

One big thing for me to note, is that we had 55% possession over the course of the match, even if historically we lucked a draw, or a win , or whatever versus a team like Manure, our possession would be down in the low 30%'s, a scrappy lucky win tbh, but the fact we can have a game like this where we have more possession that Man Utd (55/45), is a huge step in terms of progress, it shows we can control the ball, and if we get a little more clinical in the final third, we can really hurt teams.

I think Buendia was brilliant, this is the player that we knew was in there, quality quality player, Buendia & Coutinho together are going to be just magical.

I though Sanson was our second best player overall, i hope he isnt judged for the mistake because i thought he was very good overall, very composed, and can play the system Gerrard wants, lovely composed passing.

Digne looked a little rusty, which is to be expected, but once he settled it was clear how much more he offers compared to Targett, and that even with Digne falling to bad cramp 10 mins from the end, clearly a quality player, some lovely touches and attacking impact.

Ramsey was good in the second half, but poor in the first half, Luiz was decent without being spectacular.

Mings was also decent, but maybe could have done more to recover Sanson's initial mistake...nice little run for the goal tho...

I thought Watkins was really poor, im not sure if Grealish made him look better than he was, or whether this is Watkins, but he is really poor imo, lacks vision, lacks in game intelligence, has bricks for feet, which is even more apparent when he has Coutinho & Buendia buzzing around him.

Cash, decent defensively, but seeing Digne on the let hand side, highlighted just how poor cash is going forward and linking play, so man times he gets the ball, he stops, turns back and passes backwards, the attacks dowt the right break down so many times with him, or when he did cross it was the usual "aim for the stars" type cross, i think if he isnt careful, he will be replaced in the summer (or maybe Hayden replaces him if he shows he is capable).

And finally.....Coutinho.....I though he did ok, nicely taken goal, it was easy to miss that he lifted that over De Gea and if he had just gone low the keeper may have got to it, he showed some nice touches etc, but tbh as much as the goal and the intricate touches, the fact is, just having his presence on the pitch aided us in going from 0-2 to 2-2, the aura of him alone makes a difference, and that great!

I actually thought Coutinho did okay when he came on. Only 1 goal and 1 assist but he carried the ball forward well as well at least.

he didnt get an assist, as it was fred who poked it away from him towards ramsey.

doesnt matter tho, him coming on changed the game 4 sure (just by his prescence as much as anything).

Seeing what Digne did in place of Targett has me understanding why Cash needs to be upgraded.

yeah i agree, cash isnt good going forward, i think he will need replacing in the summer. (or Hayden steps up if he is good enough).

  11. i hope he doesnt get judged for the mistake right before he came off, i think he was probably our second best player over the 90 mins (or 70 he was on for), behind Buendia.

  12. you could see he was a little rusty at times, which is to be expected, but he also looked class when he settled down.

Shows how rusty he was when he went down with cramp, regardless, to have a left back who is so mobile, can run with the ball and just be class, great stuff.
