Yep....all the talk is for a recall. At least we will have cover at CB for the first time since August.

I think that he'll go straight in.

Thanks for the extra 2 pts today....shame about all the others you let slip away!
Just scares the hell out of me when anything goes near him.

In a fixture list that's included the teams placed:
1st 2nd 3rd 5th 6th 7th 8th 10th 11th 13th (twice) and 22nd.
That is quite remarkable when you think about it. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd still be in playoff contention after this set of fixtures. Incredible job by Smith.
This....this and this again. Exactly what I said on Monday. Considering the players at his disposal, injuries to key players, shit decisions from officials and the fixtures in his first 12 games. Remarkable job. Well done Dean and the team.

You can't argue that DS hasn't done a remarkable job in the short time he has been here.
He's taken an unbalanced squad with some major weaknesses (gk, cb) thar was devoid of any real footballing mentality and turned them into a team that now looks like it knows how to play whilst playing most of the top 8 teams in his first run of games and yet managing more wins in a shorter space of time than SB did this season.
Even in the 3 games we lost, we coulda shoulda got something out of.
Yet now we have signed a better keeper which will in still confidence in the back 4 plus a run of games against lesser opposition I expect a surge up the table. Since his arrival, we have closed the gap to the playoffs with a hell of a lot of football to play.
'Do you want to bet against us?'

No, you're right.
That previous muppet in charge has already helped **** this season.
If Dean Smith plugs a tune out of what he has inherited and get's us promoted then it's manager of the season candidate for me.
How the son of the potato can keep coming out on Twatter justifying his father's piss poor management here, is nothing short of delusional.
Probably the same way Alex 'piss poor' Bruce got to steal a living as a professional footballer.

Whittingham. I remember him whipping in 2 beauties for Angel to bag a brace against Leicester and set him on his way to that 23 goal season.
He has had a good career but I thought at the time we had a bloody gem on our hands. When you said Whittingham, I immediately thought of Guy who never quite made the step up from 1st division to Premier League after that great goal scoring season with Portsmouth.

Well reports as of now is that sheffield Wednesday chiefs have met with Steve Bruce.
Mite not be long before we see Bronto Bruce back in the championship.
That's a game I so eagerly want if Bronto Bruce is at Wednesday, we owe Wednesday some revenge after they beat us 2-1 while under Bronto Bruce, then they would even have our dinosaur of a manager.
I do feel though that bruce would think he has something to prove if he came back to the championship, woukd be the only reason he comes back in my eyes. He would want to stick it to us as much as he could for his sacking, doubt it would happen though with the way were playing.
No way would bruce get the owls playing anywhere near as good as what Dean has us playing.
How many times did Brucie get one over Deano even with a stronger squad??

As a keeper coming for a cross, you can't allow the attacker to cut in front of you. His whole angle to the ball was wrong....he had no idea where the attacker was running and actually moved 90 degrees from his line to intercept the cross allowing Rodriguez to cut in front...yes he did handball it.....twice....but even if he hadn't, the goalie can't be so naive as to run out at 90 degrees in a situation like that.

DS's system got him banging in goals before so why not again?
-
Teams are going to be shitting themselves about playing us now we have taken apart 2 of the best defences in the league in the last 2 games and scoring 8 goals in the process. This is what DS said he wants and how refreshing.
Opposition teams will be working on how to stop us playing rather than how we used to worry about stopping even the likes of Rotherham playing and avoiding defeat.

Despite the disappointment...you have to see the positives surely. Huge character shown tonight.

You can't polish a turd!!!!
No way can our coaches make this cockwomble a decent keeper.

Agree, but it’s worth adding that in some respects the spaces were intentional. I’ve never seen our Full Backs as high and wide as they were for large parts of that game. It didn’t work at times but stretched Blues all over the place. Interestingly he’s not done that every game, our patterns are changing quite regularly depending upon the opposition.
You mean he is planning and preparing ways to play against different teams rather than just putting '11 lads' out there and just telling them to play?!?!

He doesn't big the opposition up...like Bruce. He doesn't show the opposition too much respect....like Bruce. He doesn't play to avoid defeat but plays to win....unlike Bruce. He doesn't obsess over short sighted gains but over the bigger picture...unlike Bruce.
I feel BCFC will come to stop us play rather than go for the win I.e. play with pure passion rather than skill, kick players off the park old skool style etc. I think DS knows this and will have planned accordingly.

Is it just me or is this ref f#$ing rubbish!

My favourite comment was when he said we had been 'working on slide through ball runs' with Jack in training and it came off!
What is this witchcraft??
Thought training at Villa was like the John Smith's 'av it!'.

As much as i love Dean Smith and want him to succeed here if the latest daily mail rumours prove to be true and he sanctions us spending 8 million on Barry Bannan i'm done....
Daily Mail you say? Hmmmmmm

Oh ffs....seriously??

We all knew it would take a while....patience is key...A win against Bolton at home will help and come December, I think we will be firing on more cylinders.....we've played 2 form teams away from home and lost by 1 goal and maybe should/could have got more out of these games after hitting the post in both
I am not worried and think it will come good in the end....the green shoots are there!

He will probably only get Thursday and Friday to work with the team for Saturday but I do think the ethos of the team will be different. I still think we will be far better organised and think we will be more positive to play forward with ball on the floor rather than sideways, backwards and hoof!
