I have written you off.
Look forward to you happening next season.
Silly me and my sausage fingers!

Think it's better to accept that I won't happen this season and then anything else is a bonus?

Didn't Purslow sort the deal with Standard Charter for plop?
If so, I think he is very capable of sorting something that will be BIG in mid-table championship terms

Future sponsors will surely have links to NSWE portfolios.

They've just signed a £650m kit deal with Puma.
Our situation remains a mystery to me - how we can pass FFP is baffling. The club seem completely relaxed and calm about it, but the numbers make no sense. I guess we'll see.
I expect that we will be signing some BIG deals too in the coming months !

I think I trust 2 self made billionaires to do what is right and the best for AVFC. If they are not worried, I am not worried.

Tbh....I hope that the Derby fans aren't writing the same shit about Lampard as we have seen on here about DS for the past few weeks but in the modern world of football, I expect they are.

Oh ffs....isn't it obvious that JG is the key role to playing DS's way....without him and no one to fill the void, we have had to adjust our tactical approach and been less efficient!

Forest scored 5 goals from 5 shots on target so your point is?

Agreed.

I think Smith's problem is motivation. Nothing wrong with his tactics or planning, just doesn't get the players ready to run through walls for him. The mitigating circumstance is that a lot of them won't be here next season anyway and have seemingly checked out, but I don't think DS can motivate well.
And this is exactly why I am excited to see what players who want to play for him can do! He needs to be given this chance.

We won the majority of our games had mostly enjoyable moments that season.
Much, much better than this crap we are getting under Smith.
No...some enjoyable moments but most of us could see the style of play was lucky to get those results.

You can’t defend a manager who keeps on using Adomah, Kodija and Whelan and if he can use Ramsey, why the F**k can’t he use O’hare?
Because they are not good enough either ffs! But as they are our own, we'll put claret tinted glasses on.

yes. he is in charge and he has made us worse.
he will have us in the bottom 6 by the end of the season
Like I said.....laughable if you seriously believe this!

And yet all this is Smith's fault!?!? Laughable!

You mean Kodjia the player that would be banging em left right a mind centre if he was given more game time...having a shocker?? Surely not.

I dont ever recall saying that.
Happy to accept your apologies....?
I apologize for nothing mate because surely Smith equates to 'most championship managers' and he is not good enough and yet you have implied many a time at the club should be looking for a top class manager.

I think Barr Chris Wilder, Beisla. Most championship managers would come here if an offer was made in the close.
Aston Villa is a massive pull at this level.
And here lies your hypocrisy my friend because 'most' championship managers are not good enough according to your rhetoric!

Great post.
Spoiler alert - we are just not that a big a draw for many managers. Just being ‘Aston Villa’ is not enough to attract the sort of names that get bandied around on VT. Rodger? Benitez? Dream on.
We are currently a bang average mid table Championship side whose squad needs to be majorly rebuilt on limited funds. Personally I don’t think we can hope for much better than Smith and I do think he needs to be given time as I believe he can rebuild the squad and get us playing the right sort of football.
Bruce got 100 games over two years and spent tens of millions to take us nowhere and yet 3-4 months in fans want Smith out to bring in who? Oh yes that dream manager, the best manager we have ever had......until he loses a few games.
But but but Wagner and Jokanovic are available don't you know!
