I think the Covid-19 situation will spike again with people acting like morons as soon as the summer began.

The huge money involved in the PL might see it forced through despite this. But the Championship is even more games and the same risks (or even more as the clubs can't afford the same level security and testing as in the PL) and little to no TV-money to repay.

Think there is a chance that the PL restart will be cancelled before it's finished. Think there is a much bigger chance the Championship one will.

Think and hope you are wrong about second spike despite the  morons.

I don't think they'll be able to finish the Championship season on the pitch.

Think it will be decided on PPG or whatever.

The PL restart and finish is 100% money driven, not enough money in the Championship to warrant the risks.

Not sure where that will leave Brentford.

? Why the prize for promotion is the biggest in world football.

Do you think he’s good enough for Chelsea?

Honestly don’t know ,players have a history of leaving us over the last few years and fail to live up to expectations.Think Mbeumo is a better prospect and will end up as a top PL player

Benrahma is linked with Chelsea! We’ve definitely mistaken by not getting him last season.

Take that with a bucket of salt,a players values is going to be a big issue in the coming months. He is a fantastic player and has a few years left on his contract so he comes with a high price tag 30 mill + I heard is our valuation. We are still in with a shout of promotion so this attention won’t be welcome.

We got promoted from nowhere last season.

We lost most of our squad so had to have a complete new squad for the PL

We started ok, then had a major blip but have turned it around with something like 3 wins, 2 draws and a loss until another loss today.  We didn’t have a back up striker and we didn’t have a striker for a few games until Samatta came in which wasn’t Smiths fault but Suso from what we can gather.

We are in a cup final and not in the bottom three after two thirds of the season.  Our realistic target this season was to avoid relegation and we are on target for that after being the worst team promoted last season.

Smith is doing a fantastic job, yes still learning and making mistakes but to replace him just seems absurd after what we have achieved and are achieving over the last 12 months.

This is where we were this time last season

Christ don’t get me excited we have 5 more points after 30 games

Media were saying that Brentford wanted £30m for him in the summer, so he wasn't as easy to get as some are suggesting, also he was injured and had no pre-season which would have further complicated things. From what I can gather he hasn't actually been as good for them this season and his form has been on and off, I watched most of their game against Hull and whilst he played very well, Hull were equally very poor and many times he was very wasteful trying to do too much on his own, as I say he played very well, and I think he would improve us greatly, but at the same time I don't think he's suddenly out of our league because of an hat-trick against a poor Hull side, or even based on his performances through the whole season, for the simple fact that I don't think the top six or so clubs in the division would be interested in him, again not because I don't think he's good enough, but because when you get to that level of club they don't have to buy the best from the championship they can go shopping for players who have done it at an higher level.

The two players that impressed me the most today as well as Benrahma, were Rico Henry and Watkins, who I thought were both excellent

Its true he has been quite average in recent games but still can produces moments of magic. He was given a price tag of 30 mill along with Watkins tag of 40 mill ridiculous money I know but it was a message that they weren’t for sale.If we did get up to the PL who’s not to say they along with other of our players remain.

Thank you Nylons for expressing the extra funding given in strengthening the team.

So you spent more in the summer than the WHOLE time DS was in charge? Gotcha 😉

That’s right,we spent 32 million on transfers in this summer. You will struggle to find half that spent during Deans time with us.

Look at Brentford. A lot has been said about him being a small cog in a big machine, and it's hard to argue. He's not done a terrible job here. Promotion was unexpected and to an extent he's been a victim of his own success, but Brentford have gone from strength to strength since he left.

Yes we have by spending more in pre season on new players than in the whole time Dean was in charge and for the first time in 5 seasons not selling our best players in the January window.Thomas Frank is an excellent coach and has the edge over Dean Imho.

Hope you lot come up this season. Glad to see the Brentford model is still working well. Proper football club. Also Konsa is doing well you maybe happy to hear.

Thanks 👍Would be great if we could come up and play at the superb Villa Park again.

I’m just waiting for someone to tell @Brentfordnylons he’s wrong as Dean was rubbish at Brentford and Walsall and we only need the table to tell us this 😂

Very interesting that only four of your starting team are the same. I knew you had a big turnaround of players but didn’t realise it was quite so drastic. Is it Benrahma, Watkins, Henry and Canos/Dasilva?

Dalsgaard Henry Watkins Benrahma.Canos out all season with injury DaSilver was mainly a sub under Dean.

Where do we start after reading through 4 pages.

Well the truth of it is, Smith has brought Championship football to the Premier League, without a decent striker (we had Tammy ya know). It shows now he has not adjusted to the League at all, playing the same tactics time after time, or reverting to some sort of defensive structure, which didn't work in the fizzy pop League never mind the Prem.

He has certainly run out of ideas (have you heard the post match interview), an I hope the Board are looking to replace him as we speak, I guess he will have the Burnley game, but if we don't show any commitment there there, I think the writings on the wall

As for those who are happy to go back to the Championship with him, are you mad!! This is surely based on sentiment, cause it won't do our club any good at all financially. It's okay a few of you agreeing with that Brentford fan, but no disrespect to him, Brentford haven't the ambition of AVFC who are now owned by Billionaires, sounded a bit small time to be fair.

We are building nothing here with Smith, we have regressed, 3-0 today against a 10 man Watford, (Wolves showed us how it's done against 10 champions last night), is unforgivable, an to blame the players commitment after was mind boggling, since he manages them. Even had a little dig at Grealish, for the first goal, which wasn't a great comment to make in public.

The players can't be feeling the love at the moment with his post match interview and I very much doubt from this, he is not going to turn it around, just like the when Lambert started to blame the players. There's certainly something going on behind close doors, an I think now it's gone a little to far for him to carry on.

Having billionaires running your club might build up your expectations but still doesn’t guarantee success look at Fulham owned by one of the wealthiest men in the world.
