Turning point?

I'd probably go back even further.
I loved the likes of Mellberg and Carew, but he's comfortably the best player to come through our youth system in my lifetime, and genuinely being one of our own makes him that bit more special.
I'm going to be absolutely gutted when he leaves.

If he signs permanently in the summer, he needs to be made captain. Mings behaviours like a leader on & off the pitch. Chester is a great professional but he isn't a strong enough captain for a club like this.

Cracking player, just sad it is only a short term deal.

Smith's problem is he's trying to play his style of football without Grealish and Tuanzebe in the side who were vital to what we were doing. He's now continued to try and play it and our defenders and midfielders just aren't good enough to execute it.
He needs to change the way we are playing instead of just pressing on with it, it doesn't have to be long term but just until we have players who can hold and play on the ball.
Hasn't he done that? We have been a lot more negative recently, sitting too deep and lacking aggression.

The performance over the last two games have been gutless and spineless.

The Millwall of the West Midlands.
-
That was the worst game I have ever seen us play (and there are a lot of games to pick from, especially in recent years).
-
I am unconvinced by him, however Orjan's job is made harder by the so called "defence" that is in front of him. But I do not think he will be in goal for us by the new year, I am guessing we will resort to Bunn (if fit).

Like a supporter invading the pitch 0.54

We outplayed them in every department. Hope Maupay is banned for that disgusting challenge on McGinn. Frustrating we only gained a point, but really proud of the quality of performance and effort. Lets build on this now. UTV.

Non promotion release clause of £30m I reckon.
The clause should be £30 - 35 Million - fair price in the current market. He is worth a lot more IMO. The clause will not matter as we are going up this season! UTV.

Want Hugill and Powell apparently (Alan Nixon).

The plan is to evaluate the club and then make decisions based on what they discover.

I really hope Bruce isn't the one making decisions on transfers. He wants Snodgrass back? Loved him last season but do we never learn? We are in the championship we can't be paying players £45k per week and gamble again that we go up. We need to build, coach players and produce a side who play a certain way and have an identity. I don't want a team full of moments. I want a team. It's why I am still gutted the man is still here.
I do not disagree. It seems like we have been building in the sand for the last ten years; the odd moment, an exceptional talent or two to carry the team (until they are sold), short term and erratic decision making especially when signing players and managers. Do not get me wrong, even the best of people will make mistakes, but we have committed the same errors over and over. I crave for consistency. I want a club/ team identity that is built around our academy players, shrewd scouting and top class coaching with the occasional marque signing. Over to you Nassef and Wes.

Hasn't that thatcherlover proved quite reliable?
Hit and Miss.

Immensely talented. The future is very bright indeed. UTV.

Time to get behind Brucie and the boys. 3rd time lucky? I certainly hope so.

My gut feeling is telling me "Bruce is staying".

The TH speculation is all a comical misunderstanding. The new owners have upgraded the vac for Bruce's office. Welcome Henry.

Really - much prefer a dedicated CEO - lets not forget this bloke is worth close on £6bn - he has invested £30m tops in Villa. He won't be putting too many hours into what for him is a small investment.
Be patient. He is most likely sampling the environment, evaluating what kind of CEO the club needs (among other positions). By the 1st September I predict a lot of vacancies will be filled.

Still have a feeling that Jack may sign a new contract this week.

Just read a couple of pages on the WWFC forum. They've really got a bee in their bonnet haven't they? They reckon we're still fooked lol. I really hope they get off to a spectacularly bad start to the season.
No surprise. They are a nasty and bitter bunch of individuals. I always remember how they reacted to their relegation to League 1, smashing their own ground up. Thuggish simpletons. Contrast that with our awesome supporters against Newcastle; inflatable dolls, bananas and beach balls and having a fun time.
Since last year, we had not heard a peep out of them for about forty years. It was so sweet to humble that mob at VP, all wearing their silly little Jorge Mendes masks.
