  1. I think we as villa fans seem to be just accepting low standards now lerner has beaten us down to the lowly level and we just accept it now

Let me ask you folks this question... If lerner picked  Bruce would he be getting so much support like he is from fans? Absolutely not.. Double standards i am afraid

Our Tony has already stated that he doesn't intend to make money from Villa. Then there's Wyness who has stated that the balance sheet is in good health. Looks good to me, but then I'm only going on what seems blindingly obvious.

No Because no business person ever acquires any business to make any a return on investment I mean what are all those idiots on dragons den thinking they should stand to lose money every year just t like our genius owner

Mate at least we are winning them. Under that flop Italian we were losing or drawing those kind of games.

I think provided we don't implode towards end of season bruce stays. I think we will be much better come next season. Also there will not be as much pressure as this year. The pressure will be on the Sunderlands and hulls who come down.

On paper we have one of the stronger squ ads I'd be very surprised if we are not top 7 next season pending on outgoings in summer

Not much pressure? You clearly don't understand where the money has come from or the sustainability of it... Lerner was crucified for overspending on crap players.. That's exactly what we have done this season although not crap for the championship they are not good enough for the prem not one of them... No player should cost 15m from Bristol city it's ridiculous we got robbed

Yep you've nailed it. I hated him untill he got a twitter account. God only knows what I'll do if he gets on pintrest! Eekkk!

And you follow it up with more outstanding points. To move forward he should stop trying to grow his business. We don't need anymore money or revenue. He should build a huge balcony that over hangs the pitch and just shout and point. We'd be top of the league.

Finally massive thanks to you for taking time out of your busy day, as an in touch football expert. If only Wyness could pick your brain about being in touch and use your modern ways.

Thanks mate, theres nothing like some fresh guff to read on a sat morning!

I'll simply answer to this scarstic comment with 2 simple questions

How much have we spent? Where are we in the league

Yes thanks very much enough said.. Great job though villa board clap clap

While last season no doubt was worse, losing to the likes of Ipswich, Brentford, Nottingham, Barnsley, Wolves and Cardiff really is harder to swallow for me than losing to the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, Man U, Plop or even Everton and West Ham.

We've managed to somehow be just as terrible in the Championship against terrible sides after spending a fortune as we were in the PL playing far better sides.

The blame for this is shared by Bruce, Di Matteo, the players, Xia, Wyness and everyone else involved in assembling this squad including Lerner and his band of misfits.

I know some like to also blame us fans, but I think that is malarkey, balderdash or even hokum.

You make some very good points mate.. Everyone seems to love the owner just because he is on twitter but maybe if he stopped buying crap film companies and kept his finger on the pulse where it really needes a leader to make sure we went up we would not have made so many bad decisions

I for one don't rate Wyness either he has not been ceo of a club for over 7 years he is out of touch for me

  6. Folks,

The problem is nobody in the top 6 plays backs to the wall garbage football so decent football goes hand in hand with success even at championship level

So this theory of winning playing really bad football does not really have a basis for reality. Even pulis is not doing this

  7. The way I see it Bruce was justifying his appointment up until Jan and then he screwed it all getting and making too many changes and then throwing them all in hoping it would work

This is not good management it's very poor so he messed his chance up big time we were close to the play offs before Jan happened

A more tactically astute manager is required to have chance of promotion and the championship Is changing football is getting more modern look at Brentford who we made look like Barcelona

I take on board the views of those who say Bruce has always wanted us to play like we did second half and there is merit in some of it IMO.

But it can reasonably be countered by pointing at selections, systems, and performances which show the opposite.

Even as recently as last night. Gardner was selected ahead of Hourihane - which one provided the football ?

Maybe as with many things the truth is it's a bit of both.

It is also a point that the setup was forced upon him by the likes of hogan being injured there is no way he would have dropped him

Thing's haven't been great under Bruce for the last few weeks but Saturday, and especially in the second half last night we proved we can play some decent football under him.

With the confidence of two clean sheets and a couple of goals I'm hoping the brief spells of decent football will get longer and longer as this season draws to a close and we can then build on it over the summer and going into next season.

Everything Bruce has said in interviews suggests that the type of football we played in the first half, long balls, in the air, no passing or movement; is not what he's instructing the team to do. Last night proved that if we use the midfield we have bought properly then we are a threat when in possession.

    Hi mate

Bruce has never been a manager for pretty football so i can't believe for one minute he is going to turn us into a good footballing side.

Derby lost to Blackburn last night which puts that win into perspective and Bristol are very poor also.

These are teams we should be winning at home with money that has been spent.

In delighted with the 2 wins but no way does that make Bruce the right man Because we have beaten 2 sides who are in dire form as much as us have been this is to he expected with our lot.

The reason we are in this mess in the first place is due to poor managers buying poor players and who are not up to the modern standard of today's footballing world and next season will be alot harder than this season

  10. Hi folks

First post since joining and thought the best way to start is with our current manager.

Bruce was brought in to reach the play offs this season by the board no question for me and here we are in 15th place and 7 days ago genuinely worried about relegation. It's been nothing short of a disaster under Bruce since trying to employ his own tactics and went on that awful run of losses.

Villa need a modern manager who is tactically astute and that man is not Bruce

  11. Hi guys

Been a villa fan all my life and the last 7 years have been horrifying for us fans as we all know including this season

Looking to talk all things villa and hopefully have some healthy debates with fellow fans.

My little boy was born last year and hopefully will be a new villain but I must admit I don't want him having the same pain as us!
