  1. IWell gabby was starting under Bruce when fit and he should not even be anywhere near it.. How many chances does one guy have to have under different under par managers?

Now we see Richards on the bench and Bruce says 'he's a stick on when fit' so that's not the reality of what some are implying

He clearly has alot of support from other villa fans but so did lambert and sherwood.. So I don't take much notice of that in honesty.

And he's spent a lot of money with Hull and Sunderland despite what some are saying... I wouldn't want him spending the docs money with the players he apparently rates.

Bruce is just an out of date manager and is not good enough for avfc in my opinion.. Its the same blue print of manager we have been having for years.. Villa are out of date as a club and need to wake up as far as im concerned

Will he get us promoted next season? Sorry I just can't see it

And now he's had his players for a month we're winning consistently. Or does that not fit your MO?

Sorry, I think the random fantastical comments you're making fit the mould. No other way of saying it. Either way, you live under a different bridge to me.

Against league one standard opposition and a very poor derby away side...

If he can't beat these teams then he definitely should not be here!!

What did Garde do to suggest he was a good manager? Appointing him was the worst decision since Mcleish!

I watch alot of football in Europe.. His 3 years of hardly any budget playing youth players with lyon is to he commended

He wasn't given a chance at villa we will never know

Wait... You could have picked Big Ron, Brian Little, Gregory, O'Neill, even O'Leary, Houllier or RDM... You went for Remi **** Garde? Whether he CAN play decent football or not is irrelevant - he didn't here. Circumstances or not.

You stated that Bruce taking off all the strikers is infuriating. He's done that once, when we were down to 10 men. Adomah played up front.

I think you're posting for effect, or trolling, and I'm getting sucked in.

He did in some games against lesser teams.. When you let Tim sherwood sign the likes of gustede Richards etc.. Then what can someone do they aren't magicians

I believe any manager deserves to get playerd in.. Hence why when Bruce got his he ended up losing constantly

Tomorrow let's see I've alrdy stated he beats them I will give him credit

Trolling for effect? Christ that's immature statement

OK. So tell me which Villa managers, presumably Premier League era only, do you think played 'decent' football?

You honestly think this is worse than McLeish? I can only assume you were hibernating that season.

I believe remi should have stayed on.. He didn't get a single penny to spend and can play decent football.

It's the only manager I let off in the last 7 years

Mate cmon our football this season has been so bad it beggars belief

Relatively seems to be the word you've chosen to ignore. And no, he hasn't.

He hasn't spent loads with the teams he has got promoted.

    Hull?

  7. 4 minutes ago, TrentVilla said:

Oh. Because I thought he assembled competitive teams, usually on relatively small budgets, and gets them promoted.

Seemingly I have the wrong Bruce. Hate it when that happens, last time was when I found out we hadn't appointed Forsyth.

Small budgets? You really haven't looked into it he's spent loads with his clubs

  8. Bruce football is worse than mcliesh!

I just literally don't think I can stomach much more of his garbage tactics

When he takes off all our strikers in games aswell is just infuriating the negativity is so ripe in him..

The Richards saga and gabby saga alone should be enough to want to see the back of him

  9. 3 minutes ago, dont_do_it_doug. said:

So he has messed up the chance you've not given him?

    Fair enough. I'm out.

He got us to a chance of the top 6...then insisted on putting 2 up top and added a load of new players in when one up top was working for him

This is what Bruce does.. High turnover of players every season and makes changes all the time

  10. 1 minute ago, TrentVilla said:

And this is relevant to Bruce how given he didn't sign him?

Just making the point we have spent a hell of alot of money on players at this level that don't have much more ability if any than the rest of the group

I can't see Bruce getting top 2 next season.. And on that basis he has messed his chance up for me

But he's here to stay for next season so let's hope he don't cock it up

  11. Kodja has one goal more than Cameron Jerome...

I think we need to put it into perspective about how well our players are performing

Chris wood also cost Leeds 3m I think.. Look how many goals he's scoring.. Is he prem level? No I don't think he is

  12. Making out that some of our players are better than a team sitting 8th in the prem is astonishing

Wba have been better than us for years and showed us up in terms of spending and wages in comparison

It's a very sad state of affairs but they are the pride of the Midlands at the moment whether we like it or not

Our overrated and overcharged squad got shown up by Brentford.. A team in their 127 year history who have not spent what we have what we have this season... It's frankly a joke when you look at it from that perspective

Round was saying Wyness is a strong negotiator.. I pisses myself laughing so hard... With the money we have been offering to clubs for players is there anything to negotiate? We are practically giving them everything they want and more.. They must be pissing themselves laughing... And then laughing even harder If you are Brentford and barnsley

Bruce cocked up January?  Not in my opinion.  I do think he dropped the ball with the goalkeeper situation (pun very much intended), but I think everything else that was achieved, both in terms of what we bought, what we sold, and the amounts we received and paid out, were all better than I thought you could achieve in January.  A window everyone loves to remind us is a very difficult one to do any business in.

Sorry let me clarify.. He cocked up the integration of the new signings Andy playing players out of position losing 5 in a row.. He should have gone for all those mistakes

  14. Someone mentioned the claret and blue specs and I think they are very right

This current side would get slaughtered in the prem absolutely slaughtered

Our squad was better last season we actually out played some teams but didn't get the wins.. Leciester for example and wba Watford Crystal Palace Norwich Newcastle

How did we do against Newcastle and Norwich this season?

I'm sure it was tongue in cheek when @JE- asked me if I was Steve Bruce's son, but it does touch on a wider problem.

I have been fairly critical of Bruce over the last couple of months. Maybe not foaming at the mouth, off with his head critical but I've certainly questioned his decision making, the lack of a clear and defined plan, the lack of consistency and the loss of confidence that is allied to that.

After the defeat to Barnsley I said that he needs to turn it around and he needs to do it now. I'm glad that he has, why wouldn't I be? Why wouldn't that soften my opinion of him? And like a flash, I'm a Bruce apologist.

There's a difference between being fickle and an evidence based change of opinion. Not that my opinion has changed all that much, we were dreadful during that run, there was no clear and defined plan and I was indeed worried that we would sink even further. However, he has dispelled one fear at least - that he wouldn't be able to stop the rot. Three wins on the bounce, regardless of the opposition, will do that. Not only that but there has been a marked improvement in the performances, they are much more akin to those shown earlier in his reign only this time we seem to have a midfield to go with it.

The next two games are a big test. If we can win one of them fantastic, both and I will be absolutely buzzing for next season already. A couple of points would do. As long as they continue to show something even in defeat then I might just jump back off the fence.

Aside - I was at all three wins. Watching your team win games of football is bound to put a spring in your step. If it doesn't, football probably isn't for you. IMO.

    It was ':)

I love our team winning but I still don't forget how clueless Bruce looked when trying to make his own changes and play his own system only to revert back to something he doesn't even believe in himself.. (his own words)

I don't believe stability starts with a manager look at Southampton they have had both their managers taken off them in quick succession

It's how you plan for the managerial change that's important.. I still find it rich speaking about stability when we sacked rdm after 12 games.. I'd rather the board show consistency not use buzz words when it suits

  16. It's amazing what a couple of wins does.. Couple of weeks ago it was talk of how are we going to stay up :)

This is why I'll take the points but I am not impressed by beating the 2 poorest form teams in the league it's an expectation. If we can't beat them then forget talking of promotion next season we will be in league one

If the team stil looks like a bunch of talented strangers who occasionally manage to win with some individual skill then at the end of May Bruce will be given his marching orders.

Afraid not mate.. Wyness said Bruce would still be the manager even if relegated

We're safe so he has the rest of the season for me.

We'll know at the end of the season if he's the right man for next season.

If he's not then the new guy will have the whole summer to work with.

Wyness has made it extremely clear mate that Bruce is here next season

  19. 2 minutes ago, VillaChris said:

Hardly. They lost 5-1 on Saturday and we're just 7 points off them now.

Their fans have also wanted Alex Neil out for months. They had 2 wins in 12 championship games from middle of October to start of January.

They also largely kept a decent squad for this level together after relegation, only selling Brady for big money in January.

8th and 13th... Their manager is crap though I agree with their fans
