You realise they made a transfer profit in January, yes? You really ought to do a bit of research.
That's not the point.. He was allowed to bring in some of his own players
Newcastle are 30m in profit and in the automatic promo slots
We are close to 40m down and 15th
That's me for tonight folks.. Good debate

I don't understand the Wagner obsession, granted I do not know much about Huddersfield other then I think they had a fancy stadium build awhile back. What's the Wagner style of play, tactics, transfer history etc?
Wouldn't Gary Monk be a better choice, and he did well in the premier league.
Many aspect.. But he purchased a load of foreign players with a net spend of 2m to be sitting in 3rd putting pressure on the top 2 every week for thst final automatic promotion spot with a club who have mostly been a league one side more than a championship
Then you look at our strategy.. Puts it into perspective

Any proof for this or you just talking nonsense?
The facts point to the Hull owners being tight. Which is why they also gave Marco Silva no money to spend. Unless you think they also appointed Marco Silva, despite not trusting him.
Silva got in players in January...

Two clubs. He left Birmingham for Wigan. He left Wigan for Sunderland.
Plus he wasn't sacked from Hull in the summer.
So that's 3 examples that go against your original post. I didn't bother finding any more, they may exist. I assumed 3 would be enough to show you were talking utter shite.
He left Wigan for Sunderland? So did Sunderland pay compo? Why did he leave Wigan? Sorry I bet the circumstances were totally different to your first point
And he left hull because they didn't trust him with anymore funding... Like I said in my original post
So it's one club... Did Sunderland sack him? Yes that's right
He's a poor manager and your constant support for him is baffling

I don't think Bruce is addressing, nor has he shown the ability to address our core problem. My difference with many who would also like to see hime out, I think, is that I very much want to be wrong, because while I think I'm right, I think there are too many at the club that are buying the excuses that are given here.
"Things were bad when he took over" is true of every manager since MCLeish at least, if not longer.
"he didn't have his own team." No manager in the world gets to pick whatever players he wants. Lambert had plenty he tried to get but couldn't. Garde never got to sign a one.
"He had too many new players to fit in, in January" He signed them voluntarily.
"he has no other strikers to play" He got rid of how many, in January ? And was playing gabby-a man who showed no concern for this club or his own waistline.
"he has too many injuries in the squad." Which of those injured for us have a history of turning matches single-handedly?
"bad luck." (That s appears to be the favored excuse for Huddersfield) You make at least 90% of your own luck with preparation and intelligent positioning. Clearly we aren't mentally prepared to finish.
"The opponents keep getting lost cry with one shot". You don't get repeatedly beaten by one shot on goal unless you continue to be ill prepared mentally for a 90 minute match.
The excuses, while completely inadequate, IMO, are being accepted in the name of stability. But stably mediocre is still mediocre at best.
Because the excuses are acceptable to many, I think we're stuck with Bruce. For that reason. I'm desperately hoping I'm wrong about his inability to turn this around and take us forward. COME ON YOU VILLA BOYS!!!!
(But if Dr Tony is reading, I'm not wrong. Better for us to replace him.).
Bang on

Evidence? Look at the the team you purport to support.
Sorry but our old owner caused instability not the managers...
95% of lerners appointed managers were never ever good enough in the first place

So you're calling it "truly disturbing" that Bruce didn't have any kind of stability within his playing squad. So your answer is to sack him and bring in yet another new manager, who will want his own players, causing instability here. Right.
Show me the evidence of managerial changes causes 'instability' within a club?
Swansea crystal Palace have had 2 and 3 managers this season alone and have improved to get out the relegation places.. Hull have improved under Silva overall also
Absolute excuse for the board to save face on Bruce for appointing him

You asked how many times he'd been headhunted by other clubs or hadn't been sacked or walked "because the club didn't trust him with money". You didn't say anythign about how good the teams were. We gave you three examples. You clearly weren't expecting any.
I'd say there's every chance Bruce could get a Premier League job. Not that I see what that has to do with anything.
So one club? He left for Sunderland? Lol really.. How come they ain't had him back and Birmingham for that matter

Sorry for the separate posts but just look at these facts
QuoteIf he failed to cut it as a tactician, the 50-year-old did not seem much of a strategist either. Including loans, 30 players were signed – several of whom have subsequently been moved on – during Bruce's two-and-a-half years on Wearside. That represents an unsettling "churn" factor and hardly proved conducive to developing either a clear playing philosophy or strong team spirit.
Truly disturbing

So fellas that really amazing club Wigan got paid for him LOL.. One club out of how many managed clubs?
I'll ask another question.. How many prem jobs is he going to get in the future? His only chance is being promoted with us..

Steve Bruce was a manager who refused to move with the times

Shortly after taking charge at Sunderland Steve Bruce was asked if he had considered experimenting with a Christmas Tree formation. "I'm not really into tactics,"
Yes this is the very man you are all thinking is fabulous based on some comments

Absolute tosh.
OK then... Answer me this... How many times has he been head hunted by other clubs whilst in a job?
He's either been sacked or walked Because the club don't trust him with anymore money

He's achieved nothing so far. But this is the modern football fan. No respect, no patience. A manager's been good for a few months, give him the Dortmund job.
Well Bruce has achieved fck all of any value to any club he's been at.. In fact he leaves them in a bigger mess than when he went in... Consistently everytime
Wagner is a manager destined for larger things.. Bruce is destined for fck all
Our manager is as poor as any manager of the last 7 years

I'm with you 100%
Good to know there's someone else out there who nails his colours to the mast so convinced and consequential.
I'm sure as time goes by and the performances & results will show that Bruce is not our man.
My wish is that DrT, Wyness & Round see it early enough and appoint someone who will get us up next year.
Yes mate I do... It's not about right or wrong Id love nothing more than promotion regardless of who is in charge my point is I can't see Bruce doing it.. His football was more effective in the past it's getting outdated by each season
-
Anyone who has a clue about football knows that wagner is head and shoulders above Bruce in every single way from tactics to innovation to building sides to playing proper modern day football
Dortmund are likely to want him at some point do you think Dortmund will want Bruce LOL just the mere thought of that is bloody hilarious
Bruce is a soul destroyer and will lose fans going to the ground if this continues...
Bruce won't get us up next season he's out his depth.. Even if he somehow did with his dire football I'd want him out as soon as the promotion is confirmed the premiership is no place for the dinasour that is Bruce

....makes no sense at all!
Do you know what make no sense mate
Accepting losses to sides who can beat us having spent penny's when we as a club are meant to actually want promotion.
It's clear from the owner to the fans that there is zero awareness about what is required to achieve promotion and actually automatic promotion.
We aren't talking about staying in this league... Maybe 5 years of fighting relegation battles makes it a habit to accept a loss or a point away from home and not think much of it.
Busy most the day so have fun

10 points from 12 games in 2017 with his own set of players..

How many excuses are we going to keep giving this bloke.. He's failed and even though this season isn't all down to him there is many mistakes he's made by himself
This guy isn't good for villa and even if what seems a miracle at the moment he gets us up someone is going to have to pick up his mess I don't trust him to build a prem side what so ever.
If Bruce was appointed after mon there would be chaos and I don't see why it should be any different now...other than fans standards are as low as low can be for this club
We just lost to a team that cost 20 times less than ours FYI but we should be grateful we only lost 1-0

Didn't see the game but it seems like we didn't seem to deserve the loss.. Well quite frankly I'm past caring about that
Bruce is meant to be the promotion specialist therfore the results specialist.. He's failed miserably.. I can't see anything changing under him and his football will never improve he's a negative manager
I was watching the in game stats and even from that you can see its setup to not concede and maybe bag a goal.. So in other words setting up for a draw
We spent like 40m on strikers and the Managwr can't organise a setup to get then scoring
Listening to some comments on here it's clear to me your standards have severely dropped for this once great club.. Lose your standards you lose your identity
Failure to beat Wednesday at home then Bruce should be gone end of season no matter the results after that

To answer someone question
No point sacking Bruce now.. His 3 wins give him the rest of the season

This sums up why people aren't taking you seriously. The result of a single game against one of the most impressive teams in the league will not indicate false dawns or turning corners!
Nothing to do with the garbage football 5 losses in a row with a squad that costs us 70m plus then
Oh I forgot it don't matter because we beat 3 of the worse in form sides in the league..
-
Tonight we will see if it's another false dawn or we really have turned that long corner

So now we've put to bed the myth Bruce spends loads of money, lets move on to this one.
What exactly is this Richards saga? I mean granted, the last time I saw him play he looked like he might be eligible for membership but I'm stretching my head trying to work our what this is and how Bruce is any way responsible.
I'm also struggling with the logic of you giving Garde a free pass because he inherited Sherwood's misfits and then you talking about a saga with Richards, who was signed by.....yep Sherwood.
Yet again you are contradicting yourself in your rush to be critical of Bruce.
Garde didn't sign one player mate.. He built lyon with the youth squad when were spending nothing on players at the time playing good football.. Bringing through the likes of lacazette etc.
Wrong timing of course but didn't see the point of getting rid of a guy who never even built that side.. I even said Bruce should have signings well he's certainly got that
Something garde never had

Sorry just caught this
Sorry what league were those managers in? Rdm had hardly any time also... Absolute rubbish sorry to say proves absolute nothing putting those win %... Alot of those managers managed us in the best league in the country not the fizzy pop league
