Amrabat linked to us and West ham, WH are definitely in the market for a CM including putting bids in elsewhere

Sounds like we're being used in something they're trying to do rather than the other way round

Amrabat is a very good DM but I’d prefer Prowse who will get you 8-10 goals a season and is Premiership ready.

RB and backup GK and we are done and what a transfer window it will have been.
I believe we’d struggle to get a decent striker happy to sit on the bench, think we should go with Archer and Duran as third choice.

Not sure if a purchased second striker would get splinters in his arse with all the games Villa have to play? I honestly feel Villa are still a little short in quality depth.

Remember how Spam played in the Premiership last season with a dearth of quality depth.

Villa will still need more if they are serious about doing well in Europe, cups and league?

A decent 2nd keeper, RB and striker is a must along with an alternative DM if Dendoncker leaves.

Matty needs challenging (I’d prefer an upgrade), must be a reason why we let Young go…

Let’s see if Unai plays Konsa at RB in any of these friendlies…

    I think the priorities are

    GK

    RB

    Attacker

    DM if Dendoncker is sold

Tyler Adams at Leeds would cover at RB and DM. Would like Gnoto as well if Traore is loaned out again.

This compilation really shows his quality. He looks like a truly elite athlete who could succeed in other sports too. Exciting times!

Seems to be two footed so will be unpredictable for Premiership defenders trying to decide which way he’s going to go.

We’re not getting Felix. I’ll stop stalking that gorgeous Moreno if we do. I.E it ain’t happening.

Based on what? How do you know? No-one really knows who Villa are going to sign. It’s the way they do business.

I missed this, I guess it’s already posted in this thread in the last few days but just in case it hasnt

Seen him play several times but he has yet to impress me. A big no from me on this one.

Ash did well against him, but not sure he 'schooled' him.

Have already stated at season’s end this is the wide player Villa should be looking at. Imo better positionally than Johnson and probably cheaper too. Would be a great signing for the Villa before Everton sign him.

Lot of talk on Twitter that Lee Kang-in is set to reject an offer from Atletico, hopefully puts us in pole position.  For a reported €15-20m, could be a real bargain like Moreno.

Think Man U are interested but they don’t have a lot of money to throw around at the moment due to the take over.

He hired Smith and Gerrard.  So.... one good, and one bad?

You reckon Smith was a good appointment? Grealish kept him in a job until he left. What has happened to Smith since that!

Purslow was absolutely hated at Liverpool and look what happened to the bin dippers since Purslow left!

Correct decision by the Villa owners.

His most important legacy was hiring Unai. Forget what came before. Sometimes the circumstances meant we had to wait.

Did he? It was the owners who had gotten pretty sick of poor managerial appointments! Once that happened it was only a matter of time before Purslow was gone.

Emery arrived wanting complete control over footballing matters and now he’s got it!

My word, I would love Sancho here. Fits perfectly into the side.

He's stuck now though being paid the farcial £350k a week by Utd. Like a lot of Utd players. They'll have to take huge hits on plenty of them.

    Sancho is woeful.

I have never liked the counter attacking style because you're basically giving away the initiative to the opponent which by nature is defensive.

Yes mate I know. Just making the point that you can be successful playing different systems and I’m sure under Emery,  Barnes if signed, will adapt game by game.

  13. West Ham have shown you can play counter attacking football and win a European trophy.

I suspect when Emery gets the players he wants you might see more counter attacking football from Villa?

Either way Villa will need players who can adapt!

I would consider much of my shopping at Leicester.....

    • Tielemans
    • Iheanacho
    • Maddison
    • Barnes

all quality players, who have acclimatised to the Premier League.....They have all suffered, like our players did ( Pre-UE) so there is every chance the Maestro can resurrect their form.

On form all could make a significant impact on our squad.

I’m reliably informed that there’s no chance of Maddison signing for Villa as his family detest Villa. Not a ITK just passing on what I’ve been told.
