Looking at that list, can anyone remember a time when the top players were this unlikeable?

Yeah, the only likeable one isn’t even on the list 😂

yeah.....I thought he struggled a bit with Dougie, under Dean Smith

but that was top drawer with Youri, on Sunday.

I think he is a better, overall player now, and has the benefit of Unai's directorship.

No doubt… Unai has massively improved him (not the only one, it’s what he does).

Last season, John and Ty were commenting how they wished they had received this level of coaching and management earlier in their careers…

The composure in possession and quality and consistency of pass are the major weapons that have been added to his *ahem* arsenal…

He also possesses the same drive, determination and energy as ever… just a much better and more intelligent player now, what is his ceiling?

He’s also one who is humble and happy enough to go “under the radar” and just get on with his work and helping the team… it’s all about winning.

He is not the most technically gifted, but his left peg is not bad at all....a bit underrated.

I think John has some William Wallace characteristics too, he inspires and resists the bully very well......he did when we beat Newcastle 3-0, he led from the front and inspired the play.....he has off days, sure.

I think John is a players, player.....they want him there.....I think the manager wants him in there too.

    The heartbeat…

    or energy core…

    of our side.

  4. My apologies Youri… you’ve been excellent and at a time of such need 👏  Possesses so much quality, unlucky not to get a goal in that game…

Didn’t think he could hack it in a deeper role (has been really good in an attacking role but looked poor in central midfield earlier in the season) and may cost us with lapses/mistakes (mainly due to exhaustion) but he’s been superb… obviously helps having an elite, world class manager such as Unai but… he deserves a lot of credit and is becoming a key player…

No one knows better than Unai as regards improving players and managing fitness/stamina levels… hopefully we’ll have better luck next season and not so many (serious) injuries… with a bit of strengthening we will be a hugely formidable outfit too (even more than we are rn!) and have plenty of high quality options in the squad.

  5. Unai dominates (let’s not forget how unlucky we were not to have more goals, Watkins and Tielemans efforts coming off the woodwork was crazy) a full strength Arsenal team lauded as being a genuine title challenger, one of the most in form teams, the best defence in Europe… with a patched up team and, especially, a midfield that would hardly ever start/play if all/most options were available…

Incredible … no one expected it…

We do deserve him though. And he deserves to be at a club where supporters appreciate him.

Villa should never have become a club where inexperienced Managers are given a chance to prove they can manage at a higher level. Owners should have viewed the club as belonging to the highest level but last time that happened was with Big Ron as a league title then became a possibility.

You are right though. Emery isn't just a common Football Manager. He is one of the World's best.

Nah. He is exactly what we deserve. After having so many charlatans in the last 40 years we finally get an ownership that understood you need to aim high and then go and close the deal. He is our first chance of punching our weight in an age.

    👏👏👏

We’ve made far too many stupid and pathetic appointments… it’s embarrassing tbh.

But… this one was a complete and utter masterstroke… a match made in heaven…
