It really wasn't.
Again I like Hourihane and I think he played well yesterday. But the wall for that goal was set up in totally the wrong place.
I honestly think a sunday league player would have had a decent chance of scoring that.
I take your point about the wall being badly positioned but it’s been an awfully long time since we had a villa midfielder who has been able to repeatedly take advantage. With Bacuna there was a 10% chance it would have gone in the top corner and a 90% chance it would have hit a chip van outside the ground.

Superb what a bargain1.5m was it? Magnificent
He is really showing us what he’s about now. Was all over the pitch today - put a shift in and that free kick was a peach

It was going really well and then . . .

Piss off mate, Davis is my new love.
Gabby who?
It's true what they say. There is no such thing as monogamy. If @JAMAICAN-VILLAN and gabby can't make it work, what chance have the rest of us?

You've actually been in a coma for 6 years. Your family misses you. Please wake up.
Oh thank god. I had this horrible nightmare that villa had slowly atrophied into a team that was stuck in the championship

We are away from home, on sky and have scored 3 ?
Redknapp is gone?
What type of fever dream am I having?

Bristol's manager is dressed like a **** ponce.
Even on Villatalk, I think this is one statement that simply cannot be argued with.

I went for Conor MOTM but Davis was spectacular, the hat trick tipped the scales for me. Bruce should have replaced Hutton way earlier - everything was coming down his side.
great to win, great to score more than one, let's bring that play on the road!

The last result really sucker punched me, and I was a strong Bruce In / Positive In advocate. Anything less than a real response on the front foot will break my optimism for the season, come on lads...please.
This is exactly where i am. I thought with a good preseason, some decent reinforcements and some players bought last year bedding in added to the departures of some driftwood, we would be starting positively. but the way we looked while getting that hammering and the total lack of tactical response has me teetering badly. A lack of fight tonight really will break my back for the season. Come on lads

I wouldn't like to see them continue to grow into the game. I think now would be a good time to freshen things up a bit.

Hull have started this half with way more purpose

Pretty good first half. Last 5 minutes a bit sloppy
My assessment too.
only change I'd make at half time is to take off Bacuna and replace him with (in order of preference): Any villa sub, any villa fan in attendance, a constipated turkey, a lampshade or a medium sized piece of gravel from the car park

Dammit - you beat me to it!

It's great to see us looking so positive. Just hope those niggly yellow cards come back to bite us.
This hull team look brutal.

I'm finding myself getting more and more nervous as we get closer to kick off.
Our record on sky is awful . . . .

To use the old banking adage, "past performance is not a guarantee of future results" - that being said, Steve Bruce has taken teams out of this division before, Like @Stevo985 I don't expect Bruce to guarantee a promotion, guarantees in football are worth less than a ticket to a win a date auction with MacLeish and Lambert as the main attractions. I expect the club to hire somebody with a record of promotion (which he has) and give them long enough to turn this failing mentality around (which I think would be to give him a preseason in the summer and see where we are by Christmas)
I don't need us to play like barcelona
i don't need us to win every game
I do expect us to show promotion form next year and if we don't ? Then the Bruce out people will get what they want and I'll concede I was wrong.

The size of the squads that MON initially announces I'm surprised that I'm not in it.
I believe you, Nigel farage, the entirety of the spice girls and everyone within a 5 mile radius of B6 only just missed out . . .

There will be lots of calls for Bruce's head after tonight and regardless of whether that is right or not, what the hell does it take to turn professional footballers into the sort of absent minded cock for legs idiots that let those goals in ?

I wasn't expecting us to get anything from tonight but those two goals . . .
There are no words

I have no idea what I want.
I just plain don't understand what we have to do.
we've spent a ton of money on players that were bossing this league. We've employed a manager with a proven record of getting out of the league.
we may not get relegated but we bloody deserve to after the last couple of 'performances'
i don't know what I want (but a less painful passion than being a villa supporter would be a nice start)

I'm loving Bruce's villa 2.0 so far. Let's hope they keep this up for 90 minutes
