Harsh. Funny but harsh.

Give hogan or Kodjia a run before Tammy gets frustrated and does something silly

Wow - when Tammy has a bad day at the office, he has a really really bad day at the office
hope it doesn’t come back to haunt us

Just a quick reminder - regardless of the results, the football we are playing right now is a dream to watch compared to the bruceball garbage we endured at the start of the season.

From about number 7 onwards we have. The defensive 6 are largely questionable.
5 of the 6 are questionable. I can’t think of a single question about Nyland at the moment to which the answer is not “for the love of god, pick somebody else”

Just no. We'll win this too.
(Come Saturday I may have changed my mind, since I always shit my pants right before games)
That’s my weekly ritual.
6 days before game - we have more than enough quality, it’ll be tough but we will get the 3 points.
4 days before game - they are in good form but we should be able to nick it 1-0
1 day before game - I’d definitely settle for a point from this
1 minute before game - ahhhhhh, why do I bother supporting villa, we are gonna lose 6 - nil and be miraculously relegated to the Azerbaijani 3rd division

I don't think I've seen a harder working performance from a striker than I did from Hogan. He was like a thing possessed today, constant harrying of defenders, coming back to defend and running the channels and within a whisker of a spectacular goal first half as well.
That’s exactly what I came to the thread to say. I thought he was superb today - Grabban has his work cut out for him to take the shirt from hogan

Tough week for Bruce and he nailed it having Jedi start.
grealish was a cut above everybody but people like snoddy, Albert, Terry and Jedi had very good games too

Onomah for Albert and Thor for Hourihane please
edit: never mind what a strike ! !

We have to turn this dominance into a goal. Obvious difference in class but if they get a lucky goal they will park the bus

Surprised nothing has been said about his influence yesterday.
Yes he appears to be a bit languid and yes he has a face like a smacked arse but then he will pull moments of brilliance out the bag and you can see why he's so highly rated. That link up with Grealish was sublime and there wasn't another player on the pitch who could have kept up with Jack there.
He has played his part and will continue to do so I'm sure.
That link up was (imo) the best bit of play I’ve seen from players in a villa shirt in a long time

Alberts goal but where on earth would we be without Snodgrass . . .
-
Today has the look of a day where all are rivals will win, so we need to win just to keep up.
i don’t mind us on here getting nervous / tetchy about the lack of a goal but I just hope the players keep their heads and keep plugging away, it could be a bit more of a mental challenge for them the longer we go without scoring playing at home against a team we are expected to beat.
edit - they scored while I was typing that!

Still a bit over defensive on the bench, but as expected.
This. This team has been doing the business - with the exception of axel / Elphick, it’s hard to justify changing a winning team.
-
I think it’s not a case of choosing which one to start.
if we are going to continue using a DM, then imo you choose depending on the opposition - Jedi gives us more cover from aerial threats and Thor gets around more against weaker opposition and Whelan is just sort of there . . .
-
Excuse me but I need a lie down after all that
-
Ok, I am genuinely concerned that I have lost my (admittedly tenuous) grip on reality
is this actually, really happening?
-
All that matters is the 3 points. A poor last twenty minutes against a poor team but luckily we didn’t suffer from any new manager bounce nonsense
-
Well, that escalated quickly . . .

The result is disappointing, the baggies goal was ridiculous but we should take from the last few games that we are genuine contenders and should fear nobody in this league. Away to one of the best teams in the division, created a hatful of chances and they only salvaged a draw with an injury time one armed robbery - it’s going to be a really exciting few months.
