His attitude has been great all season, its very easy for a foreign player to come to the A League and cruise their way to a pay cheque.
imo would be a useful player to the limited options we have up front at the moment

Don't see why people are so upset, we've played a load of kids which is what a lot of fans wanted instead of seeing players like hogan, wheelan, elphick, hutton etc and they've shown theyre not ready, we've rested a team after a hectic schedule and have picked up 0 injuries, roll on forest game with a strong squad.
I think you've touched on why people are upset

Jedinak for Whelan and Elmo for Taylor with Hutton going to the left
Wish we had someone to give Davis a rest
-
for the quality we have on bench, Im still surprised there was no change to the line up. Was the perfect opportunity to give a few a rest (bar the CB's and Davis)
Elmo, Lansbury, Grealish, Jedinak, De Laet and Bjorn... that's a very strong bench for the Championship (all bar 1 and ill let you decide which one that is that)

Is elmo injured or are people wanting to see Hutton start ahead of him at right back?
Also where is Elphick? didn't even make the subs on the weekend

Great first season
care to share your tactics??

maybe the Coleman's appointment will do the reverse and inspire us to be on our toes... as most would have ticked this game off with a win and potentially lead to complacency

Haha. I didn't even know we had scored in the first half courtesy of being off the forum for a while and Radio WM's incompetence.
I thought Albert's second half goal was an equiliser so was baffled but delighted it gave us the lead.
Second match in a row where we have scored a goal I was not aware of. Bizarre.
not that bizarre given your profile pic ;-)

was one of the best afield the Aussies in the first leg and lasted the 90 minutes on a very heavy surface (intentional ploy by the Hondurans). Having him fit approaching the Christmas period will be massive!

Lots of time before now and January window for everyone's opinions of the team to change including the decision makers
What wont change by then tho is the fact that Hogan whether it be our system or lack of talent, he is of no use to us and hopefully we can get rid and bring in a replacement. Would be happy with either Crouch, Walters, Long or Austin amongst others

yep and more analytics and feedback from staff to ignore

I watched the game and like others have said looked a little rusty. Played the sole striker role which I don't believe suits him, but will benefit with Tim Cahill returning to the side this weekend.
Has a nice touch and what not, but didn't really see anything that made me think he can add value to the Villa team but in saying that will cut him some slack as it was his first game in a long time

Yeah, I suppose he can. If we are keen to keep him though we could offer him a contract and see what he says. But I know what you mean; why would he commit to an uncertainly when he can wait and get certainty with little or no downside. Good point.
I think the reverse of this... it actually gives him some certainty for once in his career after being sent out on loan 10 times (or whatever the number is) regardless of which division we'll be in next year

Hey Tro, AJ has already summed it up pretty well. The A-league is probably somewhere around league 1. Certainly better than a pub league.
Aaron Mooy was playing for Melbourne City a few seasons ago, quite a few players have made the move to Scandinavian leagues.
I probably didn't need to be so sensitive about the pub league comment but if you go back 15 years our national competition was a shambles. The A-league is only 12 or so seasons old and I'm quite proud of how Australian football has grown because of it.
Maybe I'm biased
not biased nor sensitive... but living in a country where football is called soccer and probably ranked 3rd amongst other footballing codes, we get enough stick from our own people down here let alone other true football fans from across the globe

clutching at straws here but got zero after the Adomah's took the penalty against Barnsley... Is Kodjia our designated penalty taker or did he shun Adomah for the second time in as many minutes?
-
The keeper also pulled off a brilliant save at the near post from Snodgrass' shot in the second half

Actually made this game as I happen to be back in the midlands with work.
Both teams were appallingly bad, outdone only by the match officials who were terrible.
Prior to the game changing moment, we were OK but nothing more. I thought o'hare and onomah tried to make something happen and were generally OK.
The ref immediately booked elphick for a late but not nasty challenge but then kept his cards in his pocket for every boro foul, despite repeat offenders.
The penalty was correct, but to send off elphick with another yellow was a poor decision. It didn't warrant further punishment.
Bearing in mind we were only one down and almost got one back straight away, good old Steve threw the towel in and replaced a striker with a DM.....
What a load of negative crap - why not try and get back in the game?
The second goal was totally Thor's fault and that was that.
Terrible game, featuring two terrible teams and terrible officiating.
haven't seen much of Thor to be honest, but after seeing the second goal he should be nowhere near our back half!

wasn't Kodj our dedicated penalty taker? was surprised to see Adomah step up
-
a win over boro here could give us a significant boost mentally for the next few league games... would like to see
Steer
Bree Elphick Samba De Laet
Jedi
Lansbury O'Hare
Elmo Adomah (or Bjarn)
Hogan

I'll be purchasing this this year.
Haven't played a full FM game since 2013, and even then I only really dabbled in it. The overcomplication put me off.
I realise that might be a problem again this time, but I'm hoping some time away from it will have helped!
this is where I was at but decided to get fm17 a few weeks ago and gave my assistants the fun of doing pep talks, opposition analysis, press conferences and other 'lovely' add ons in recent versions so I can just manage the tactics and scout / buy / sell

I could understand if this happens.
As for myself, I am not a pureblood, being an overseas fan converted in '98. Aside from the Australian national team, Villa are the only team I can watch, even though it is soooo painful.
lots of similarities watching the socceroos last night and villa every other night.... in terms of pain of course!

I almost think its too late to bring someone in with the expectation of instant promotion... it would be fantastic if it did happen but realistically it could take a while for the next manage to embed their views and structures into the team
On that note, the Bruce appointment does reflect a bit of a panic decision, so my view for the time being is to let this stale ride with hope of improvement until we're certain the guy that we want, be it Jokanovic, Smith, Clement or whoever is available and then make the move. Lets not repeat the mistake we did by appointing Bruce at a similar time last season

I think its more to do with where the goals are coming from... can probably count on one hand those scored by strikers
