    It's the usual Bruce contradiction.

i dont think he's defending the choice to bring him back on loan, just merely that he doesnt look ready to start at CB.    The decision to loan him back as a right back is mind boggling to say the least

  2. ive refused to visit this thread but have reached a point where i need to vent

f*ck the burton game, f*ck the late equaliser v Reading and f*ck the Sheffield game... how can you leave us with 1 recognised CD?  you have completely f*cked the transfer window and continue to play players out of position because of this.  For this alone you should be shot!

I have resigned myself from 17, giving myself a break before 19..... Hopefully it's worth it!

funny enough, ive picked up playing 18 in anticipation.   Once Villa's results turn for the worse, i tend to give up anything football related so lets see if im still playing in a couple weeks time

  4. didn't watch the game but its becoming increasingly obvious that Bruce relies on individual brilliance to get us through games hence why we cant get results to even lower league teams with our fringe players.

I haven't been in the bruce out camp but its hard to ignore the facts.  We wont get promoted relying on our top 2-3 players to pull something our of their arse each match especially with the leaky defence that we seem to have.  Simple things like this should have been fixed by now

We really needed 13 points from the 5 games we have played. We have far better teams to play. If we win today we would have 10.

Cannot afford to slip up again. Not against this Reading team.

2 points a game average will get us promoted

    Yes, I noticed that here.

OK, Mr Smith, just to let you know it doesn't work like that. Villa won't be "looking for a retrospective" on anything. The FA will review the match in the context of the referee's report and will take retrospective action on Maupay if they think the TV evidence shows this was a red-card offence. Steve was just voicing the hope they will look at the incident. If Brentford go to the FA asking for a review of Jedinak's behaviour, they should by all rights be told politely to **** off.

So, Mr Smith, I think we saw a truth about your team last night. When being outplayed they have no answer but thuggery and violence. And Maupay proves to be the biggest thug of all. I hope he gets a proper punishment for his reckless and extremely dangerous behaviour last night.

I also hope these who have constantly been idolising Dean Smith on here and promoting him as a candidate to replace Steve will button it for a while. I wouldn't want someone whose response to pressure is to imitate a small time West London crook as our manager any time soon.

agree with your the fist part but I have to disagree with you on Mr Smith.  He outcoached Bruce in the second half after seeing his team dominated in the first.  He made the right substitutions, brought in Yennaris for Mceachran who was sitting to deep and they pushed us in the second half. I wasn't a Dean Smith fan as I thought it was the whole moneyball system and not the coaching, but credit where its due, he coached well against us

Smith saying if we look for a retrospective red card for Maupay, then they will claim one for Jedi, claiming that Jedi smacked Maupay in the back of the head after fouling him.

Sorry, Mister Smith, that is no defence. Your piece of shit deliberately stamped on our player, and after fouling another of our players, he ( allegedly) gets a smack in the head which he deserves.

Neal Maupay, he is a good player, but he is scum. He is the Suarez of the Championship.

even more reason to go ahead for one on Maupay!

Ive have to go the eye clinic tomorrow - I think tonights ref should accompany me:-

The Kjodia run into the box - looked a decent shout for a penalty - I gather the handball was almost stonewall

He missed a blatant stamp and allowed a free for all kick in on Mcginn  (the guilty player then scored for brentford)

Amazingly at one stage we led on bookings 3-1 - Kjodia was carded for first his offence - whilst grealish was hacked at all night - and it seemed open season on tugging kjodia shirt

Unusual that all those things go against you - one of those in our favour and I feel sure we would have one the game.

    Very poor

Though we blitzed Brentford for the first 60 minutes - One of the most one sided games I have seen in years - we do need more up front though.

really surprised Kodj didn't go down, there was enough contact and if he'd gone down I reckon the ref would've gave it

I'm sure Jack's issue is the total lack of movement in front of him. Kodj stands still unless he has the ball, the wingers aren't wingers or playing on the wrong side so come into the middle of the pitch too much. He still had the best touch and vision of any player on the pitch tonight, but occasionally let down by lack of attacking options then making the wrong choice.

I think that's a bit harsh on Kodj, he prefers the ball at his feet and not played into space.   He did make a brilliant run in behind the defenders in the first half when Jack was running at the defence but instead of playing him through Jack carried the ball for too long

Jack is by far my favourite player to watch, but we need him at his best and that wasn't his best. He'll turn it around no doubt

Interesting stat put up, maybe not. But if you look at the most fouled players in the division. Then add up the total for players 2 and 3 They just match Jack

not always a good thing... it slows us down too much and allows them the opposition to settle again.

Hopefully now with better players around him in the front third, he releases the ball a bit earlier

Not sure why we need Bolasie - I’d rather see Green get game time . . .

Also you’d think Kodjia would potentially be pushed out to the left if Abraham signs.

still want that after last night?

I can now see why Bruce starts him at right back. You could see at Yeovil he's nowhere near ready for it, this will be a big season for his development but for what it's worth I don't think he'll be ready for starting cb any time soon this season.

well in that case its a stupid signing by Bruce and wasted on a position that didn't need any strengthening

Im not fussed about the whole bruceball thing as the results have been ok, but very annoyed by 3 wasted signings in Tuanzebe, Morreirra and Nyland
