Probably not for this thread, but I often wonder what kind of person names their child after themselves. Is it down to an inflated ego or a massive lack of imagination?
I guess it could be tradition, passed down from grandparents to parents. But in a footballers case itβs funnier to imagine they couldnβt think of a better name than their own.Β
His Dad has been on the Guardian football podcast quite a bit. I believe his name is Troy Townsend, so in this case it isn't a family tradition.

I wonder how he's finding the league and if he's enjoying it. Can only imagine how much of a monumental difference it would be to training and playing in the PL.
He hasnβt set the world on fire with scoring/assist numbers but his shots/shot creation numbers are very high as is his pass accuracy. I can only imagine heβs loving having the speed of the game slow down and having more time on the ball.
As for the lifestyle, Iβm sure heβs being treated very well at leastβ¦

Haha they'll just bang on about the rugby league one, which is a bit like the 'world series' in the states in that Australia are the only country who care half a shite about rugby league (generally speaking)
Only if you're from Queensland or New South WalesΒ

Australia has withdrawn their bid to host the 2034 WC so congratz Saudi Arabia and FIFA. They are now the only option. Bet that hasn't happened many times before.
As much as I want a home World Cup for selfish reasons, surprisingly impressed we read the writing on the wall for a change and didn't flush money down the toilet.
