In terms of transfer fee plus wages (30m plus 100k+) he must be up there for one of our worst value signing in recent times?

at least Crespo was shite and cheap

Well a horror injury at the very start wasn't ideal for him so he has done well to recover. If we somehow could get a fee for him I'd be happy enough to see him go but if not then he should only be a bench/ league cup player next season.

  2. Play as strong a team as possible apart from anyone carrying any sort of knock or heavy fatigue. I'd still like to see KKH get a start.

                           Martinez

    KKH         Konsa          Torres        Digne

                      Tim             Tielemans/Luiz

    McGinn                                                Diaby

                             Watkins  Duran

Has anyone actually come up and got CL quicker than we have?

Probably an obvious example I'm forgetting but Newcastle was six years between coming up in 2017 and last year.

Guess Blackburn in the 90s but it was totally different back then and they had Jack Walker spending incredible money back then on Shearer etc.

    Leicester

Was at the game last night and he was quality. Took a few bad tackles as well but didn't stop him performing and taking his chance when it came. Very impressive for a 16 year old.

I'd imagine he will be the first Million euro sale from the League of Ireland, would still be a bargain. Vitoria Guimares could sign him this summer but for his development it is probably best to stay at St Pats for another 2 years especially with Stephen Kenny coming in.

I can't see that happening - realistically Archer isn't going to be an option for us, we'll look to sell him to the Championship - I guess we could send Duran on loan, but to do that we'll have had to have spent a fair chunk of money on a viable back up to Ollie and I just can't see that happening - I think Duran is good value for money on that and we'll need the cash to spend elsewhere.

This might be insane but I wouldn't be adverse to signing Che Adams on a free as back up to Watkins assuming Southampton don't get promoted.

  6. If working off the same players that were available last night I'd go

                        Martinez

    KKH      Konsa         Torres     Lenglet

                  Iroegbunham   Luiz

    Bailey                McGinn            Diaby

                               Watkins

Not much to go off but he made a recovery run and looked to me to be absolutely rapid. Not sure if he is but he looked quick to me

He is, probably just short of Kyle Walker type recovery pace. He has good footballing ability too. Weaknesses from what I have seen from him are probably that he might be prone to errors trying to be too composed and a slight lack of physicality/aggression. Still should have gotten more minutes in the last few months.

Don't get the hating on Dougie that half...he's been fine.

He has been well below average by his standards, no point taking him off though as we have no playmaker to replace him. When the game is completely gone rest him.

  9. Yeah Rosenior was the brains behind Derby overachieving in Rooney's time there too, a good manager that you could tell had a good football brain in his time as an EFL pundit.

So they borrow our colours, get W88 after we had it and now they get Castore after we dump them. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery or something I guess.

They had Dafabet after us too.

  11. The brain damage news from Heather Hardy is sobering to read. I know it's not nice to say but you'd wonder why someone like Katie Taylor is still putting her body in the line to go up against Serrano again when surely she is one of the lucky ones who would have made enough money in her career to retire comfortably. And she has nothing left to prove either.

It may be my irrational nervousness in anticipation of our last game but palarse are looking like Brazil at times 😯

They have generally been very good lately, really hope they pick up some knocks or decide to go on a big session before the last game of the season.
