I can't even remember how he got injured now or who it was against?

in a dance off against the Coventry Disco Body Poppers Over 60s Guild.

He had looked lethargic for both Leicester and for Villa, and so yesterday I kept thinking 'bloody hell, is that the same bloke?'.

Praise where it is due, he was excellent - I loved the block-tackle which started a Villa attack.

While Villa have a busy programme, when JJ returns, I am sure Emery will rotate them.

he played in a similar way vs AZ

  3. he ran into space on the right so many times and Cash every time just went backwards instead of passing to him, same with Zaniolo with Digne constantly coming back into midfield (appreciate he had been rubbish the few times he did get forward but he did try and get into space).

as soon as we become reliant on Cash and Digne crossing from deep into a full penalty area where we never have any physical superiority, we quickly fall apart.

I feel like we need to play quite different when away vs how we play at home.

Our setup and how we play is to susceptible to counter attacking  football or over the top football. When we are away it gives the home team extra enthusiasm and we end up conceding soft goals.

We've seen 3-4-3 this season used a bit and to good and bad effect I think we should maybe try look at it again.

against Wolves we sacrificed a fwd in order to be more difficult to beat away from home against our bogey team and it kind of worked, as we ground out a draw, may aswell try this tactic more often and then use subs to go for the win when legs tire.

I think luck and injuries conspired against us vs barcodes and plop, but we have to know when to attack and when to park the bus and when we are a goal down we do neither.

  5. We have to work out a way to unlock defences centrally, or move our fwds wide, every time we seem to fail miserably it's because players like Cash and Digne get double marked and teams park the bus. We can't play slow ponderous football if it doesn't draw the team out like it didn't work with Forest.

Diaby and Watkins were barely involved because no one was trying to play centrally, Diaby kept coming further and further back to touch the ball.

It's a quite easy tactic to foil us away from home, push/pull us over every time we are on the ball, our midfield never gets fouls give for them especially Doug. Then double mark the fullbacks, sit back, block and break with long balls into the channels. It's surprisingly easy considering how great we are meant to be.

  6. I feel like he just needs a bit of luck and he will start to show the potential that he has already shown in glimpses

his confidence is shot to pieces, getting hauled off at half time and missing chance after chance,  he could have had some world class goals by now, if Unai can get that back I think we will start to see why we brought him here, it's whether or not the bad luck and form will kill his chances

i'm sure the gambling stuff hasn't helped.

we need more options up front, need Ramsey and Moreno back and Duran.

    Another thing to note.

His right foot seems to be catching up with the rest of him.

Up until the last few weeks it seemed it was useless lol.

Flash back to when he had the opportunity at the death to win the game for us but it was on his right and it just got the weakest inaccurate finish outside.

I've been to the training ground and found his right foot hanging around in the car park having a cheeky bifter

I think we really need to consider our tactics, we have enough quality to have more of a go with the likes of Daly, Salmon, Leon, Hanson, Dali (when they're back). When we go forward we can score goals against anyone but we're just too negative v the 'big' teams, especially when we get our noses in front.

exactly this, such a small club mentality playing to 'not lose' rather than trying to actually win

He has yet to play for more than a handful of minutes in either of the positions that he's played in for the majority of his career and we play in a very different way to Roma - so he's playing in a different league, in a different country, in a different system and in a different position.

    he's also only 24...

I can give you a preview if you like?

He'll have some great games where he makes loads of good passes.

He'll have some OK games where he makes quite a lot of good passes.

He'll have some below par games where he's absolutely rinsed by quick players in behind our high line, and he'll make some good passes in those games as well.

Don't ask me for a preview the rest of Bailey's season. I don't think you'll like it.

You don't even have to type it, everyone knows.

  12. Great goal, but he gave the ball away a ridiculous number of times, although everyone was guilty of sloppy passes and dwelling on the ball to long. We look shattered.

Strange. Came on, looked lively and should've had an assist.

exactly this, but the same people will always pile in because they have no other tune
