I hate to burst your bubble, but we are a long way from that team now!!  Thought he did OK tonight, he isn't brilliant but is no way as bad as some on here make out.

Bubble has being burst a long time with this team. If you think he was "ok" that's your opinion, I just remember us having a much higher calibre of   player in our midfield to which we should aspire to have again. He can't cut it. He won't improve. Not good enough for Aston Villa.

  2. For the people saying he did well  tonight go look at some footage of Ian Taylor, Andy Townsend, Gareth Barry, to name a few that have played in midfield for Aston Villa in the 20 odd years I'm following them, then give your head a wobble. This fella wouldn't of got a sniff in those teams. We had some good midfielders at this club. Westwood will never be one.

If you added the vision some want to his game he'd be playing for Chelsea or City.

He isn't going to change, imo we need to embrace his good points, of which there are many, and just keep fingers crossed he will occasionally accidentally pass.

Not vision, just he's not passing to people he can clearly see. That isn't something that's ingrained in any players game. It's greed. Not his first time, squares it to McCormack against wolves we score. But he goes it alone.

Nah. Been a hell of a lot more solid defensively since he came in to the side - makes up for the catastrophic lack of defensive cover from AIDSwood.

Nope. He's a rubbish footballer. We've being solid defensively because of James Chester and Nathan Baker. Jedinak shoring up the defence is a myth. Westwood isn't making Jedinak look bad, Jedinak is . Excuses.

He's really only there to win aerial battles isn't he?

Is that enough as a footballer ?   What's next, we get fellas in that can just take throw ins!!

Looked knackered tonight think the  2 games in few days hasnt helped him

Another out again, your entitled to your opinion though. Same with the whole" he needs to play in a 3 man midfield, he needs someone beside him to do the running" If there are so many weaknesses in Jedinak's game then the solution isn't to tweak it to suit him . He is woeful. I know what my eyes see.

  7. We have no presence in midfield. Each year over the last 5 years our midfield has got progressively worse. The idea that Jedinak offers the defence protection and is a hard man ( both untrue) is completely a redundant point because and here's the thing...he is a very very poor footballer. I'd have bridcutt, o'kane( who i called for in the summer) in over our lot in a heartbeat. They can play football. Simple.

I think Jedi would actually make a brilliant sweeper!

With Chester and Baker behind him "they shall not pass".

Put Tish and/or Bacuna in front of him and we have two players capable of defense and attack back to back.

Let the rest of the team attack.

I think too much emphasis is put on formations etc as a fix for villa. For 5 plus years we have had too many players who can't execute the basics of the game at the this level. Technique, passing, work rate. Before any talk of formation comes up every player has to get his own house in order. In the space of 10 seconds last night Jedinak misplaced 2 simple passes when he was in acres of space, **** does formation got to do with that! Its basic stuff lads. It was symptomatic of his and villa's night. Chester is the only fella I'd have nailed on to start at the minute. Maybe amavi. Let the rest of the improve and show they want it.

  9. Said last night he's going to give fellas who have have been traveling with the squad the last few weeks a go on Sunday. He better do. Pathetic last night. Wouldn't be at all  opposed to seeing Tshibola, Green, Hepburn-Murphy play on Sunday, why not!

  10. Norwich fans have turned against the manager and the players are getting it too. The longer we stay in this game tonight the more chance we have of winning, they'll get restless. They are in a huge rut, massive pressure on Norwich and Alex Neil atm.

I have  afeeling blose are going to drop off soon now. This is exactly what happened last season. They started really well then come turn of new year they starting falling. Leeds I dont fear them. We were pretty poor and they only scored from a goal keeping error. Up to that point we restricted them. If we played well like we did against Brighton we would have beat them. We will beat them at Villa Park I think. Derby are a interesting one they could be a problem. I also think Sheffield Wednesday are another

Going slightly off topic but just to talk about Leeds that u mentioned there. After watching them against us and Brighton on Friday night and few highlights this season,  everything good they do seems to go through Charlie Taylor. Best LB in the league, hands down. We stop him having an influence on the 29th,we go a long way towards winning imo

  12. James McCarthy would be a very uninspiring signing. Martinez (awful manager ) seemed to rate him very highly. Took koeman ( proper manager ) all of 2 minutes when he came in the door at Everton to see that McCarthy is a nothing player and honestly lads he is. Offers nothing defensively or offensively. Maybe they would like to give us back Gana, I'd be all for that. Btw im Irish so i should be biased but no McCarthy is a poor player.

  13. Very tidy footballing side. Not having a prolific scorer could hurt them though later on in the season. Best left back in the league, he could destroy Hutton. We need to be on it, will be tough.
