I always thought taking meat and beer to a BBQ was a given. I wouldn't dream of turning up empty handed.

Unless specified I would assume rolls, cheese sides etc were already sorted.

Never take beer away with me however i do have some friends who would take their last 2 cans home (tight words removed)

I got in that state many a time when I was 18/19. I am 10 years older now and I would like to think wiser. I would not be getting that drunk again.

While I see that it is not right for Jack to get in this state (he is a public figure after all), I think a bit of common sense is required by the club. He is 19 and on holiday with the lads. The limelight has only recently shone on him and he is still learning the ropes. Also and probably my main point is he is away from the club on holiday, providing he turns up for pre season and meets the fitness expectations imposed on him by the club what he does is his business. IF he got injured by lying on said street and couldn't play for 6 months the club would have every right to withhold his pay (just like I would not be paid by my company for any injuries sustained playing football on a Sunday).

He does need to learn that this behavior is not acceptable doing the job that he does but I really hope the club do not make a scapegoat out of him and treat this as a learning curve 

If for arguments sake he goes for 30 mil, how much do you actually think will be reinvested? With Randy looking to sell would he not just pocket a lot of that money?

I would rather he stayed

 

I think Christian Benteke will still be an Aston Villa player for all of next season.

I think so too as long as Sherwood is the manager. Benteke seems to really like Sherwood and Sherwood probably has him believing that he can turn Benteke into a 20+ goal scorer.

I feel like these have to be complete crap. It says that Liverpool will give us a 20 million pound bid, which is about 10 million lower than the amount that I would even consider selling him for. 

 

Liverpool is not a step up. They will have Europa league, but we may as well. Unless Liverpool get Champions League, there is no reason to move. 

 

I am Villa through and through but lets not be as deluded as the scousers. We have consistently for the last few seasons finished around the relegation zone whereas Liverpool have been top end. Liverpool is a step up from Villa that cant really be argued with

That being said I hope he can see that Sherwood is building a team for him that suits his style, unless injured he is a guaranteed starter and even with only another year here he will flourish. I am hopeful that he will be here next season 

With a little one I find it hard to get to many games and have only made it to 4 this season. Used to regularly attend 10-14+ 

I am ashamed to say but I have managed to secure a ticket through the corporate machine where I work. Have to take a couple of clients so cant go mad on the beer but I am on cloud 9 right now. 

I voted other. I am stuck between 3 shows. Bottom, Blackadder and Red Dwarf.

Going to have to cast Red Dwarf as my vote however

300,000 morons have signed a petition to get him reinstated. I love Top Gear and don't want this show to end however signing a petition while not knowing all/any of the facts is incredibly stupid. How can you ask for him to be reinstated when you do not know what he has done? 

The latest rumour is that he punched the guy over a lack of catering. Again I say rumour as neither Clarkson or the BBC have actually come out and said what has happened.

I was watching Fireman Sam with my three year old son earlier when I came to the awful realisation that Sam is secretly the father of "naughty" Norman Price. 

 

 

Think about it for a second.  They live in a small village which appears to be in a very rural area where there is basically bugger all to do on an evening. Sam and Norman are the only two gingers in the village.  You've never seen anyone claiming to be Norman's father, Norman lives with his mum and no one else.  Sam knobbed Mrs Price back in the day, she was a bored spinster and the local fireman was showing her a bit of attention so one thing led to another and he knocked her up. 

 

I thought lack of a father figure was why Norman is such a little shit but now I believe that Norman either knows or strongly suspects that Sam is his biological father.  It's why he starts a hundred fires a year in Pontypandy, it's the only way he knows how to get the attention of his old man. 

This had me crying. I currently watch this with my little one and had never given this any thought. 

If I remember in the original Mrs Price's hair is ginger and was always in rollers. Sorry to shoot you down Rev but I think in the newer version she dye's her hair through shame which also explains why you never see any Just for men and the like in her shop. I think Sgt officer Steele is the dad as he seems to get very cross with Norman and lays the blame at his feet all the time without the facts

Only explanation is Sgt Steele was giving it to Mrs Price and expects better from his aging gene pool

I used to love having a drink (7 nights a week) however since I hit 24 four years ago and had the little one I couldn't care less. Just drink at social occasions and gatherings round friends houses now. I do however like Lapal enjoy the odd Whisky. Maybe 1 every couple of weeks.

Thanks for the advice CV. I shall have a look int the HTC. The camera is a fairly large part for me but the other is Music. As a bit of a technophobe I need something that is going to be fairly simple to put music on.

To be honest I have not looked at the HTC. Is that good then? I just had the Sony in my head as the camera is decent and its waterproof (not that I need that but its a selling point I suppose) and the S4 as it has been on the TV quite a lot

Due to apply for my upgrade on Thursday and have a dilema. I currently own a beat up I phone. I am debating between the S4 and the Sony Xperia Z. I mainly use my phone for texts, calls, internet browsing, games and music. Having a look online it appears the Sony comes out on top. Do any of my fellow VTers own either of these and what would you reccomend?
