Watched him only a couple of times after his Mortal Kombat days, and have to say I've not been impressed. However, if Unai wants him then it's perfectly fine for me.

This upcoming transfer window will be the easiest one to follow as a fan. Whatever Unai wants I'm totally happy with. Ideally, I'd love us to keep Emi, Mings, Kamara, McGinn, Buendia and Watkins but whatever - Unai knows best. I only hope the decisions about who stays, who goes and who's brought in would be in the club's hands, i.e. no unexpected transfer requests, etc.

Beyond that - whoever they get I'll happily support. Unai knows.

What VT reads into that is that you want to get rid of JJ at all costs - how very dare you

  2. I went with Everton, its very close between Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool to be honest but thought I would select a non big 6.

Mainly due to the fans and the handling of where they are in the league (confrontation of players with kids in the car etc). It just sticks out, I completely understand that they are angry and are venting their frustrations however stopping players cars after games to have a pop is not the right way to go about it. I think some people forget in the heat of the moment that footballers are humans with lives and families, none of them deserve the treatment that they have been receiving

  3. Its the words that annoy me, Hunt said by taking these measures we are raising 32 billion per year. No no Mr Hunt, we are where we are, these haven't been implemented yet so you are not raising anything. All you have done is scrapped a load of policies that were touted because they do not make financial sense and you wouldn't have had the numbers to get them passed through anyway.

Liz Truss whose whole campaign was built on promises of tax cuts has now not cut tax and removed the Rishi policy of reducing tax in 2024

  4. Part of me is loving this, she is falling on her rotten sword after shoe horning all of her mates into jobs that lets be honest a lot of them are not fit for. The other side of the coin like others have mentioned is it screws over your normal working class person, how this has been allowed to happen is beyond me. It is funny to laugh at them but a lot of people are at risk of losing their homes or having to skip meals off the back of the policies they have made. Honestly i find it sickening

  5. officially done with him now, I saw nothing last night in a game where we should be taking 3 points to suggest he has any sort of tactical ability to move this team on. His comments post match are laughable

If the board do not act swiftly we are at risk of dropping more points that may well be needed come the end of the season. Atmosphere at VP will be even more toxic if he is around much longer

I'd be all for giving him time if I could see what he was trying to do, if he was playing our best players and we looked on the cusp of something.

Unfortunately though, the reality is, he has literally no idea how to set up a coherent midfield (and attack), and he has favourites and blind spots for underperforming players.

TBH this is what i am hoping for, he starts picking players on form. I genuinely believe that he could work out well for us but his mentality needs to change

  7. Been a silent supporter of Gerrard since he started here and I believe all managers deserve their chance to put a stamp on the team and be allowed to see the vision through.

I was happy in the most part with the players he brought in and truly thought that this season with some of the signings we could push further up the table. I know I am late to the party but the Leeds game was awful, the subs were made far too late. For all his running I don't see what Ollie offers the team in terms of finishing and Ings and Emi should have had far more minutes on the pitch. The blind loyalty of picking Phillipe week in week out is getting more than frustrating. For me if results do not improve significantly before the international break he has to go.

I can fully understand why people want rid now but I think he should be given that time (wildly hoping for an Arteta style turnaround).

Talented sports guy!  Plays off 3 handicap in golf and has a break of 63 in snookers.

What a signing for Lillington 3rds!

Seems like a really nice, grounded guy :)

I play for Lillington 2nds, Ben plays every now and again but obviously had a lot on the last few years. His dad runs the team and his brothers play as well

what a signing Cashy is though with a 63 break 🙂

Sounds like he may be back in a couple of weeks, stage 3 tear though normally has people out longer

This is a bloody good argument I was happy to see him come back but this has made me think twice you should be a politician 😜

I feel exactly the same after reading that. 10 mins ago I would have welcomed him back any time. After reading that and watching that video clip I wouldn't even want him around the ground when he has retired to watch a game

  10. I think a lot depends on Jack to be honest, keep him and I think 2 -3 good quality signings would be enough to get going next season. ST, RM and LM. In an ideal world would want more but I think they are critical. Lose Jack and we need to spend big on AM that can score and create

  11. Personally I cannot see the pay freeze happening unless there is a drastic increase in salary and then frozen for 2 years. I think the government realise that the public appreciate the NHS and there would be a National outcry if this was to happen. I don't think they can risk the backlash before another election.

I agree with most about Rishi however like some have pointed out the hard part comes when he wants to take money off people and businesses rather than handing it out.

On another note i now refuse to watch any briefing led by Hancock, an absolute word removed

I'm probably in the minority here but I think last night's announcement was pretty clear.

    • If you haven't been working and can't work from home you can return from Wednesday. He then outlined the businesses that would be unable to resume.
    • Exercise is now unlimited from Wednesday onwards.

Right now that's all the information we have been given.

He then made clear that on Monday night he would go into further details of the phase and subsequent phases.

Why is there such a backlash? The changes don't apply until Wednesday, tonight he will clarify information and answer questions.

I think the issue is why make a thing out of an announcement and then leave it so vague, this in turn will then be interpreted different ways by different people. The biggest joke for me is we are all allowed to sit in the park all day and sunbathe if we want as long as the people near us are not related, if they are related there can only be one of them. Can Covid distinguish that we know each other now? We can go to work and be 2m away from the same person for 9 hours but cant sit 2m away from family outside?

    It's a tricky answer, I think.

Would two people from the same household doing something in a private (though shared) outdoor space be against the regulations? No, I don't think so.

Is there a potential for problems to arise? Yes. Though you say that nobody uses the area, could you guarantee that nobody would use it when you are using it such that no 'gathering' would occur? If no, e.g. someone else from one of the other flats would come outside, too, and you'd be unable to keep to distancing, &c. then you would, I guess, be in danger of creating some sort of gathering.

And on a point that I mentioned previously to HV, I think you might want to consider where it could lead. Yes, no one may use it now but if you go out and have a BBQ tonight then others might think that's a good idea and be doing that tomorrow lunchtime and night and the next day and perhaps you might get in to a situation where either the space is too crowded or issues arise with some sort of de facto first come takes priority assertion of ownership of the area.

If it's a smallish block, you know your neighbours and can check with them then it might be worth doing so in advance. You could all come to some sort of rota arrangement or at least some sensible guide as to how you each use the area (all agree not to be out there for too long & so on).

Yeah there are only 6 flats so think we may check in with them. 2 of them are elderly and never really went outside before this. the grass is quite wide and surrounds the building so not an issue with space to be fair. I do get the point on others seeing though and following suit.

Like I say as a pair we have been really sensible but i need to do something, facetime my lad every day from a previous relationship. I know the rule is I am allowed to have him however I dont want to take any risks with him at all. Just feel like i need to get in the sunshine at least for a little bit, like I say I am now in my 4th week and its only the last day or so I have developed cabin fever. I think the lack of social contact is starting to get me down now as well. My Grandpa died from it last week and he lived up North, the worst part of it all is no one was allowed to visit my gran as she had to self isolate due to him having it. No one could give her a hug and only 8 people are allowed to the funeral. This disease really is horrid 😞

  14. We Live in a flat in a private block, we have a grass area outside that is communal which nobody uses. we have been very sensible throughout all of this in regards to once out per day and trying to just do 1 big shop (not going mad on soaps and toilet roll and thinking of others).

My question is would we be allowed to have a little BBQ outside just the 2 of us on the grass area. Plan is get a disposable BBQ, cook a couple of burgers and have a beer. We wouldnt be mixing and would keep well away from anyone else. Was in isolation in hospital before all of this started so now approaching week 4 of not seeing anyone and im starting to go a little crazy

  16. 33 years old and been with my new lady friend for 8 months now (known each other for 9 years though). I have a little lad from a previous relationship and in the past have not shown my feelings enough. decided this time i would learn from my mistakes 🙂

I tell her she is beautiful and loved every day, I buy her flowers and favourite chocolates almost every other week. She in turn does pretty much the same but with pastries 🙂

My only advice to anyone is if you find someone that you are lucky enough to love is to not be afraid to show them and tell them how you feel, always try and smile and sometimes just agree to disagree. Life is too short to argue

  17. For the life of me I cannot fathom out how either him or his PR team thought that it sounds credible and to put out there. This guy is a heavyweight boxer who trained for 12 rounds but was gassed in 3 because he had to wear a bit of weight on his shoulders to the ring. The guy has lost any little credibility that he had left

It's not unfair IMO, it's just that words mean something. He can play for us and the national team, earn ludicrous money and he's in a cup final soon. It's not an all with them or nothing with us type situation. I'm not saying what I'd do or what he should do, by the way, just pointing out that placing personal ambition over loyalty, would not be 'bleeding claret and blue'.

For the record, If we get relegated and he goes, I wouldn't blame him but if we stay up and he does, I'd be pretty disappointed in him.

So far by being here he hasn't played for the National team, he doesn't earn ludicrous money (by Premier league standards for a player with his ability) however i concede the point about the cup final (although if being honest we played Liverpool's youth and I would argue didn't deserve to beat Leicester over the 2 legs). That is not pessimistic it is just the truth

Jack needs at this point in his career to be at a club that is competing in Europe and challenging for domestic honours. I would only be disappointed if he moved from us and went to a club that wasn't "up there". It is down to the owners to talk to him if we stay up and prove to him that we have a plan that he is central to and we are going places.

I would be devastated to lose Jack and do not want to see him leave however appreciate that it may be too hard to keep hold of him. If he does leave I would never have a bad word to say about him and would wish him well

  19. Not the biggest poster but I scroll through most week days

Yesterday I wrote out a whole message on here and then deleted it. In essence it was things that I thought may help and some struggles that my dad had but is now through them

The reality is although I have felt down on a few occasions in the last couple of years it has never been to the extreme as how some of you people have been feeling. I cannot even begin to imagine the difficulty and I wouldn't pretend to do so

What I will echo is most other people, if anyone ever feels the need or want to talk I will always be here to listen. Even if it is just to vent on private message or go for a coffee/pint.
