Interesting that Carlos replaced Young today, pushing Ezri out to right back. That could be a sign on our transfer targets this summer if the strategy is to use Cash and Konsa as right backs.
It could fit with Emery’s philosophy of having a conservative RB if Moreno is pushed up and a more attacking WB (Cash) otherwise.

We lack a clinical edge. Bailey, Traore, and Buendia were all off the pace and arguably have been off the pace all season — we have been very reliant on Ollie.
Referee was poor, and we deserved more. Bye bye Europe, I think.

Fifteen minutes to go against Wolves, 1-0 down, we could really use someone like Archer.

Just woke up. Had a dream that coutinho played this game and completely bossed it, scoring two
however he was also Scottish in his post match interview so it may not have been a 100% accurate premonition

I played 5 a side for years at decent level and he doesn't do enough off the ball to make me think he would be fantastic. You can't hide in 5 a side
Sorry, but this is one of the funniest things I have ever read.

That’s why I never believe these things. On what basis do they think we’ll lose at home to Brighton. We are becoming solid at home, roughly in the same place in the table…so it’s basically opinion and that’s likely the difference between a league place.
Same way bookies set odds?

FiveThirtyEight have the most likely outcome is 8th place on 59 points.
They estimate a 72% chance we will finish either seventh or eighth, but small chances we’ll go all the way to sixth or, sadly, small chance we’ll go all the way to ninth. But these are unlikely (something like 10 or 15% chance for either).
They have us beating Spurs and losing to Brighton. If we beat both Spurs and Brighton, pack your bags we are traveling Europe next season.

where was archer 18 months ago or so - Oh yeah Solihull moors and was shite for them in the conference - just saying
I disagree. This has been trotted out a bit recently and I think it should be tempered a bit.
Eighteen months ago, Cameron Archer had already scored a hat-trick for us in the cup and was getting a few minutes in the Premier League.
The lesson about Archer is how rare it is to have a player make that jump so quickly. For every Archer there are ten Stefan Moores, Nathan Delfoneusos, Mikey Drennans, Rushian Hepburn Murphys, Graham Burkes, etc. We can’t use Cam’s rise as an guide for our transfer policy.

I think we’ll win. They will be tired. Ollie will be pissed off he hasn’t scored in a week. I’m really quietly confident we’ll go there and get three points.
(I know Villa will break my heart.)

Spurs Liverpool draw next. Thanks in advance.
Liverpool will belt them.

The likes of Shaw and Lindelof looked dead on their feet. Another hard 90 mins for Casemeiro and Ratboy hopefully leaves them tired on Sunday.

Why all this focus on Tottenham, most likely they aren’t getting any more points this season. I doubt they make top 8.
Getting to Europe is in our own hands, if we win the remaining matches, we are guaranteed top 6.
Let start with 3 points against ManU.
I blame this post on Spurs’ equalizer.

If Utd play like this on Sunday we can beat them
Yeah they’re looking quite leggy after 75 mins.

3+? after breakfast what are you doing for the rest of the day?
pre season is usually brilliant IMO, new grounds, new countries, new sets of fans, great memories, sometimes you'll get to see new players making debuts or youngsters to get excited about
would love to go to the states for it, it would be more about meeting other villa fans than it would be about the game
I actually agree. The day is great fun and great memories. The matches are often crap.
I went to see Manchester United play Real Madrid in a 100,000 seater college football stadium in the US. Great experience and lovely day. Fecking useless match though.

Not to be a buzzkill lads, more a friendly heads up, but go into the pre-season friendlies expecting a crap match where the players barely show up.
I’ve been snared by that seeing Villa abroad a few times. Pre-season friendlies are exactly that. Plan on 3+ drinks before kick off.
And go to Rasika in DC for dinner. Unreal food.

Wouldn’t want to be a Fulham player at half time.
They’ll come out swinging in the second half.

Should it be zero two ? You've had no shits not 2 nothings. Either way I don't trust your bowels for accurate score predictions.

I think we will win and continue our good run of form, but a scoreless draw at 14/1 is a tempting flutter.

“I see no reason why we put two keepers on on the bench.” is the new “Can he play right back?”

I wish I lived in England so I could see the Villa at least every home game, some of you don't know how lucky you are. Moaning b******* the lot of you!
To be fair to them, in recent years living in England is a good reason to be miserable.

Not sure what's happened to him but he's knocking the ball about with a style I never thought possible. It's quite shocking how confidence can transform players.
Contract up in 2024, you’d imagine we will cash in this summer. Reckon we could get around £8m from a promoter team.

Us vs Wolves and them vs Palace. Palace are in a run of form again and have good players.
Great form. Hopefully they keep it going but I’d say they’ll be on the beach once mathematically safe.

Hope Newcastle get another couple to absolutely demoralise them. Often these matches get drab in the second-half and the losing side might even score one or both two themselves. An absolute demolition would do nicely please, Newcastle.

Poor bastard probably had diarrhea.
A few pints of Guinness tonight and he’ll be bricking diamonds by Tuesday. Be grand.

No but he’s better than Buendia when he gets it in the box.
Whether he gets it in the box or not without Buendia on the field is another debate.
