Hiya,
Posting from a bus somewhere in Michigan. I've been reading the mobile site on my iPhone and its been great. One problem is downloading the occasional massive image. They're a real battery killer. An animated gif is often about 1mb in size. Three of them on a thread and you might as well be downloading an mp3.
Any chance you could remove large (>100kb, say) images from the mobile skin? I'd say removing all images is a bit severe.
Just a suggestion.
Thanks,
Enda

A classic I saw when rewatching a film from the early 90s.
What's hard and hairy on the outside...
...soft and wet on the inside...
...starts with a "c"...
....ends with a "t"....
and has a "u" and an "n" in the middle?
A coconut.

Not going to get carried away with the possibility of signing Tonev but what we missed dearly last season was a midfielder chipping in the with goals
I think what we missed more was a defence.
Irish Supporters Club say our bid has been accepted.

In this case the nutters were British born and bred.

Chuck out the Brits I say, that'll teach 'em
Looking forward to reading about UKIP's policy on getting the Brits out of Northern Ireland.
They've been there for 400 years but if it were up to me, they'd never be born.

Lescott is over the hill. Lacks concentration & is injury prone. A definite big NO from me. We want a good solid CB not someone else's cast offs.
Paul McGrath and Martin Laursen were decent cast offs from bigger teams
What you're saying also sounds a lot like this gem "Leading Italian clubs don’t let their best players leave for a relatively small amount, so why would [inter Milan] let Coutinho go?"

Overall, another painful season.
The 8-0. The 5-0. Getting trashed by Wigan at home. Losing to Bradford. Losing to Millwall. Throwing away points against Everton, West Brom, and United.
But unlike last season, there was hope there. A glimmer of some promise, and some will to fight. That's what made this season a lot more enjoyable than last.
I said in October we'd finish 15th and we did. Fingers crossed for next year, but we still have a long way to go.

Not in the squad again today.
Who'll sign him? Blackpool?
-
Prepared to give him a chance. Too easy to write players off after one season in a new league.
His chance nearly saw us relegated.
Just about the worst defence in the league, and a lot of the blame has to go on Bennett.
Wigan had the worst defence in the league. Hence why they were relegated. I've seen enough of Bennett to see a level of ability good enough but he's very much a confidence player. He's become a scapegoat for the faults of the entire defence. Unfair to lambast just him.
I'm neither scapegoating him nor focusing solely on him. This is the Joe Bennett thread. Don't be surprised to see a focus on Joe Bennett.
He has been our worst defender, mind.

There was hardly a lot Baker could do with that before you all start ripping him to pieces.
Not Baker's fault at all for the last bit.
Still a shocking attempt at defending. Collective blame.

We have such a shambles of a defence. PL record for not having a clean sheet. Can't believe people talk about giving players more time etc.

Some people might be tempted by this

(I know I was.)

McCarthy would be a great signing.
Might be my Irish bias, but Kevin Doyle could be a good addition to the squad.

Immense today. Pity he didn't track the run of Lampard for the second goal. Obviously that was costly, but otherwise he was brilliant.
-
First game in five months, against Chelsea?
He did fine.
-
Given MOTM as well I think.
-
He just needs extra cover from midfield, like Lowton did against Sunderland. If the opposition persist against Bennet, then that should then free up Lowton defensively so switching to his side quickly when we win the ball back would worry them and force them to rethink their attack.
+1. Bananaman also helped out Stevens enormously in a few of the games. It was like we had two left backs. I'd love nothing more than having another Irishman named Enda in the side, but Stevens looked better than he would have because of Bannan's help. In fairness to Joe Bennett, he hasn't had that same sort of cover.
-
Honourable mention for Hutton playing right midfield against Spurs.
-
Would like Phil Neville for a year.
-
When's the draw?
-
It includes off the bench. Other than Heskey, no attacking player would be starting with stats like that. Are those starts or off the bench for the odd 10 mins here and there ?
-
I would take Luke Moore back in, to coin a VT phrase "a heartbeat"
Would love him on our bench instead of Bowery
Luke's a handy player, but has scored 5 goals in 44 league appearances for Swansea.
We did well to got 3.5m for him.

Mattyp, put down FM.

Well he's got the defence sorted by the looks of things - the midfield is getting there - it's just the attacking side of things to work on now. Having Benteke is a big step in the right direction but we need a bit of class to support him.
LB has been our weakest position this season IMHO.
