Friedel has saved our arses a number of times this season wuith some world class goal keeping. The best goal keepers in the world make mistakes sometimes.
People only remember the mistakes it seems! Brad is a class keeper. Just a typical VT over reaction IMO.

Really impressed with Dunne on debut for us in the center of our defence, big and mobile and were kept busy with high balls which were dealt with effectively on the whole i thought.
Why would we neglect the midfield with long balls up front all day and not use Carew up there from the start is beyond me, glad to get away with this one as we played far too direct with no real expectation on most of the balls, strange performance but happy with the 3 points.
I agree, Upson was immense.

Good solid performances all round! Its nice to watch a Villa game and not be clenching the turd crimper for the last 15 minutes !!!
I think its also worth mentioning that this win was without Young, Warnock and Davies who will no doubt make up 75% of our back 4 this season.
Delph and Downing still to come, as well as any other new guys . Could be an interesting season!
