  1. Gerrard will have made it abundantly clear in training since he took over his expectations and bottom line is that many players have not lived up to it.

He’s stuck with the formation that he’s likely to play next season to fully test capability of the playing staff and it’s fairly clear now which of the players dont have a long term future with us. Other players are just not suited to his playing style and will also leave.

He’s bet big on the summer and assuming he lands his main targets I’m excited for the significant upgrade in playing staff that promises to bring.

  2. Mings is a good mid table defender. More importantly he is an awesome man that showed us passion and leadership when we desperately needed it and was integral to our growth to where we are today.

Unfortunately, he’s just not good enough to play regularly in a team that’s looking to get into Europe and nor should he want to be a squaddie considering his England spot. If he’s smart he’ll see the writing on the wall and leave in the summer.

  3. I agree fully. He clearly thought he was Jack’s replacement and he’s now on the bench for a manager that didn’t even sign him.

FWIW I personally think him and Ings will be moved on quite quickly - despite being very good players - as they are obviously squaddie square pegs in round holes under Gerrard.

Lol stating that no team in the big 6 has come from him and therefore he’s no good is just arguing based on opinion by proxy 😂😂

Does the £160 million United has spent on Maguire, Lindelof, and Bailey who they’ve wanted mean that they’re good?

    No.

I’m not saying he’s no good. I’m saying that he’s not of the required level if we want to be challenging for European football regularly. That is backed up by the evidence that no team at that level has ever shown any interest in him when normally anyone they think is good enough is hovered up sooner or later.

I mean let me ask you the reverse, which 12 CBs in the top 6 would you prefer over Mings?

I’m not arguing on the base of opinion - we all have different opinions. Im making a statement of fact. He has never remotely been linked with the top 6 (or a quality overseas champions league team) and will never be as a starter. That should tell us something.

disagree. he gets in the man u team IMO (if we're talking the scum 6 rather than current top 6). spurs too probably. and he walks into the arsenal team.

nathan ake still gets games for city and mings is the better defender

in fact i'd say chelsea is the only side in the league where mings struggles to get a game

If they wanted him they would already have bought him or been linked with him. He’s never been linked with any of them for a reason.

I’m still very confused why people want to replace Mings.

No top 6 team would buy Tyrone from us as a starter. After the DMC position has been resolved he will be next first team player to be replaced. It won’t be easy and will be expensive as there are many positives that he brings but there are undoubtedly better overall players available for that position.

  8. He can contribute on the pitch but more importantly he’ll be there to guide the younger players re becoming elite players and a bloody good coach for Watkins and the other forwards re how to score and add a more professional/harder element to our gain.

Basically he’s the new forward iteration of John terry.

The added benefit is that he’s also very good friends with Coutinho and clearly has Gerrard’s trust.

The more I think about it the more I like it.

  9. Set him a goal of pushing us into Europe this year and then give him a new contract if we do.

This window and the summer will see big expenditure on cb x 2 and a dmc. Also if Luiz doesn’t sign a new contract then we will have to sell him this summer and use that to reinvest in an upgraded number 8 to challenge McGinn and Ramsey with Sanson and the kids as back ups.

No way in the world is McGinn going unless it’s an absolutely ridiculous bid.

  10. Barkley’s was blatantly a petulant act.

Sanson was clearly a guy extremely pissed that he was responsible for giving the goal away as well as subconsciously knowing that he’d missed an opportunity to stake a claim for a starting spot.

if that’s what the manager believes (as per his interviews) why is there even a need to question it further.

  11. He’s done plenty wrong if you’re as ruthless as Gerrard.

I suspect he’s the first on the list to be upgraded in the summer. Then it’s up to Tyrone if he wants to stick around and fight for his position or jump ship.

Even if Bissouma is cleared and his friend is charged then I would still stay away. It would show the type of character he associates with and we should be doing more than just background checks on the player

So are you defined by the actions of all of your friends and associates?

But your assuming villa have in the inside track on a rape allegation - and have an board expert who's deemed there is no case answer.

Brighton don't want to sell him anyway. So I think this is a non starter.

Where has it been confirmed that it’s an allegation of rape? And potter literally said two days ago that “something might happen” with regards to bissouma leaving.

All interested clubs will absolutely be doing their full due diligence with bissouma’s lawyers and taking multiple character assessments etc.

  14. The question I always ask myself is which team in the league would buy targett? That’s generally an indication of the quality of the player.
Norwich, Newcastle and maybe watford? That pretty much tells you it’s time to sell him in the summer and get a higher ceiling younger back up for digne.

  15. Give them 35m rising to 50m with additional fees and get this done before bigger clubs swoop.  The below front 6 (with Bailey, ings, Ramsey and Sanson on the bench) would give any team a game.

                              Bissouma

                 McGinn.                  Luiz

    buendia.                                 Coutinho

                            Watkins
