I've no doubt there is a few in for Edouard. The fee being consistently reported is 30miilion. Go straight it. Doesn't happen we can move on.
I have never seen the guy play, I pay zero attention to the SPL.
Goals aside as they aren't tight on attackers like they are here, whats his touch like etc? -

Sarr, Doucoure, Deulofeu, Brooks, Hughes, Lerma, Aarons, Cantwell from the relegated sides
I'm curious how accurate the rumours of our interest in Giroud were as I think he'd be an excellent signing and his wages would be similar to what Tammy would demand, but a significantly lower transfer fee I'd imagine and fits the bill of prem experience.
Wild card suggestion - Lingard or Willian
Lingard would enrage me if we wasted even a penny on him

Ryan Sessegnon anyone? I know he’s dropped off a cliff the last couple of years, but still only 20 and hugely talented. Can play left back or left wing.
I wouldn’t be against a year loan with an option to buy if Spurs would entertain it?
Very good suggestion

Id definitely take ryan sessagnon. What a player he is. Mourinho the worst manager for him
Have to say not impreseed by benrama. 30m im not sure he is worth that
Apparently it’s more like 40 million, no way is he worth what Sarr is or two Eze’s

Aaron Hickey started following Aston Villa, Grealish and McGinn on instagram, if anything can be read into that.

I reckon we need:
1 top class striker - Dream signing: Abraham (40m)
1 LW - Dream signing: Benrahma (30m)
1 RW - Dream signing: Sarr (30m)
1 player to play where Hourihane has been playing in the midfield lately - Dream signing: Buendia or Eze (25m)
1 experienced CB - this one can be cheap/free.
That's at least another 125m spent again. We might be able to save money on the striker and get a backup fullback too.
If we're in relegation trouble with this team next season we might as well pack it up and be a Championship club for the rest of time.
Abraham
Benrahma Sarr
Grealish McGinn
Luiz
Targett Mings Konsa/New CB Guilbert
Heaton
Subs: Steer, Elmo, Konsa/New CB, Buendia, Wesley, El Ghazi, Nakamba, Hourihane, Taylor/new FB
Inanacho 25m
Sarr 35m
Eze 20m
Doucoure 25m
Stones 20m
Aarons 20m
Wijndal 10m
Total - 155m
Sell/Release
Kalinic/Nyland/Taylor/Elmo/Engels/Chester/Bree/Lansbury/Jota/Green to save on wages and to raise what we can to offset the spend (not much)
Inanacho
Eze Sarr
Grealish
McGinn Luiz
Wijndal Mings Stones Aarons
Heaton
Subs: Steer, Konsa, Nakamba, Doucoure, Guilbert, Wesley, El Ghazi
That is the perfect window, full of everything we need, including options, pace from the wing backs and wide forwards.Easily a top half team

But they don't really score that often either. Ineanacho has 6 PL goals over the last 2 years and Origi has 7.
And yeah that's my last point. I just think there is much better value out there for money than those two.
I'm not sure exactly who I am expecting, but I would hope that we would be looking at someone who has proven they can score goals.
Well they are sub bench strikers and Inanacho has been discussed some pages back as having a good goal contribution rate when you look at his minutes played.

If we're looking for a CB, we could do a lot worse than Marash Kumbulla from Verona. Young, promising, and ready.
His face looks like a certain Januzaj..... I guess the question is can we loan him?

Would love for it to be £150 million again.
If It were I could fix the entire team with that.

Yep you sign a good DM and then likes of Hourihane and Nakamba are pretty much always on the bench rather than starting 20 + games a season.
Thing with McCarthy is he isn't even a DM. Palace do have an ultra caution midfield but pretty sure they've got McCarthur and Milivojevic as the holding two and then McCarthy is played as the more attacking of the three. So really he'd be in competition with McGinn and Luiz for a place and he's not close to those two when they're fully fit so will feel like just adding a body for the sake of it.
A body that will cost 15m over three years.

its being reported its a £100 mill on 4 players.
Which is exactly what I think we should do if we get that budget

I love Guilbert, but he's only good enough to be a backup/rotation option right now. He could turn out to be a great RB, given time, but I think a new RB should be on our shopping list this summer.
1 Striker
2 Starting Wingers
1 Box to Box Midfielder
1 Right Back
1 Goalkeeper
Need a lot of money for that unless we take last years approach and spread it around which is the wrong thing to do

You are correct. Must've been another relegated players purchase price I was confusing with. People were raving about Sarr so I got him fantasy well before lockdown and he didn't get me many points not that that's necessary relevant.
A poor performance on fantasy football is a valid reason to have a downer on someone

How do you know about them? Have you seen them play?
The Dutch guy I first saw against Utd in the Europa league.
malang Sarr I admit I haven’t seen him much but he is constantly talked about on podcasts

Grealish is the best I’ve seen too, he can go as far as he wants. I have never heard of Malang Starr or Wijndal, Aarons and Buendia are both very good suggestions
Malang Sarr is 21 and has played for Nice first team for a few years, very highly rated plays at centre back or left back.
Wijndal plays for Az in Holland he is 20 and again highly rated, he gets lots of assists. -

I think that Mings and Konsa are beginning to have a fine partnership at the back, they both ended the season in fine form.
I think that now we have stayed up, Grealish could stay at Villa and become a legend, if he’s not already
I also think that Elmohamady and Taylor have been fine servants to this club
I don't think anyone will bid enough, Jack is probably my favourite Villa player over my quarter century actively watching Villa but I do feel where we are as a club now the 80 million would be more useful than Jack. You could buy Aarons, Buendia and a left back like Malang Sarr (20m) or Wijndal (10m or so) for less who collectively would make us stronger.
Edit... I just looked up Malang Sarr and he is out of contract, WE MUST get on the phone.

No-one should take their place in the team or squad for granted. It is healthy to have competition for places I think. I think that Konsa is beginning to show quite how good he is and he won’t relinquish his place in the team, it’s his shirt to lose now for me. Engels started the season in fantastic form and looked a real player but I think he can get back to that. Aarons is a good suggestion, he’ll go far
But I could only go for him if I believed a centre back wasn't a higher priority, which I do.
On the other hand, in the unlikely event that Jack is sold for the 80 million figure I would buy two full backs (one for each side) sell Taylor and Elmo then spend the rest in midfield without selling a current midfielder not already mentioned.- 1

I think you have suggested some good players there, why would you sell Engels? What would you do with Elmohamady?
Engels for me is too slow, I describe him as turning like an oil tanker, if I am buying a centre back then I need to drop one and its either him or Hause.
Elmo for me should be replaced and we should buy a new first choice right back BUT in my theoretical budget there isn't room for it whilst the four major issues are 'solved' and Aarons would be the player I go for.- 1

Watford paid 13m for Sarr. He's not worth near 3 times that
They paid 30 million and it was reported in a paper today that Crystal Palace are interested in buying him for 40 million.
Even so, do you disagree with my choices? -
13 minutes ago, sir_gary_cahill said:
What do you think we need to bring in then?
If I had 100 million and paper figures are correct.
Inanacho 25m
Sarr 35m
Eze 20m
Stones 20m
Sell Engels
Get rid of if possible Kalanic, Nyland, Jota, Lansbury, Hogan and Bree.

It makes sense if Watkins is 18m and they want something like 40 for Benrahma.
at this price Benrahama isn’t the player we should go for Sarr is far superior.
